  • We propose a remote controller for a SCARA typed direct drive manipulator with two degrees-of-freedom(DOF). A remote controller system for SCARA robot of DDA is designed using a 2 DSP (TMS320c31) board and Winsock(Internet program class library supplied by Microsoft). The design objective of the system is to implement real time dynamic control algorithms which have been tested only by simulations so far and remote control regardless of the distance between user and robot. Because this system runs on Win95, we developed a VxD program to communicate with DSP controller.

  • In this paper design of speed controller for AC servo system by rapid design system(RG-01D) using DSP of Realgain company is introduced. 'AC Servo-Designer' system, including CEMTool/SIMTool S/W, RG-DSPIO board, AC servo driver and AUTOTool program, is used in this research. Because 'AC Servo-Designer' system can use SIMTool blocks to design and implement various controller in short time, speed controller for AC servo system is easily designed and implemented according to control objectives.

  • 본 논문은 원자력 발전소의 금속파편감시계통(LPMS)에서 충격신호의 탐지를 위해 사용되는 하드웨어 구현에 관한 것이다. 본 논문에서 구현한 것은 LPMS의 하드웨어 중에서 입력된 신호를 디지털로 변환하여 충격신호의 트리거 판단기능을 하는 DAM(Data acquisition module)보드이다. 본 논문에서 구현한 DAM은 디지털 필터와 트리거 판단을 위한 알고리즘이 DSP에서 실시간으로 처리되어 LPMS의 기능을 업그레이드 하였다.

  • We have developed a control electronics system for an infrared detector array of KASINICS (KASI Near Infrared Camera System), which is a new ground-based instrument of the Korea Astronomy and Space science Institute (KASI). Equipped with a $512{\times}512$ InSb array (ALADDIN III Quadrant, manufactured by Raytheon) sensitive from 1 to $5{\mu}m$, KASINICS will be used at J, H, Ks, and L-bands. The controller consists of DSP(Digital Signal Processor), Bias, Clock, and Video boards which are installed on a single VME-bus backplane. TMS320C6713DSP, FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array), and 384-MB SDRAM(Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory) are included in the DSP board. DSP board manages entire electronics system, generates digital clock patterns and communicates with a PC using USB 2.0 interface. The clock patterns are downloaded from a PC and stored on the FPGA. UART is used for the communication with peripherals. Video board has 4 channel ADC which converts video signal into 16-bit digital numbers. Two video boards are installed on the controller for ALADDIN array. The Bias board provides 16 dc bias voltages and the Clock board has 15 clock channels. We have also coded a DSP firmware and a test version of control software in C-language. The controller is flexible enough to operate a wide range of IR array and CCD. Operational tests of the controller have been successfully finished using a test ROIC (Read-Out Integrated Circuit).

  • This paper describes development of a real-time voice dialing system which can recognize around one hundred word vocabularies in speaker independent mode. The voice recognition algorithm in this system is implemented on a DSP board with a telephone interface plugged in an IBM PC AT/486. In the DSP board, procedures for feature extraction, vector quantization(VQ), and end-point detection are performed simultaneously in every 10 msec frame interval to satisfy real-time constraints after detecting the word starting point. In addition, we optimize the VQ codebook size and the end-point detection procedure to reduce recognition time and memory requirement. The demonstration system has been displayed in MOBILAB of the Korean Mobile Telecom at the Taejon EXPO'93.

  • We have designed the power control unit which belongs to the power cabinet and controls the power supplied to Control Rod Drive Mechanism(CRDM) as a digital system based on Digital Signal Processor(DSP). The power control unit dualized as the form of Master/Slave has had its increased reality. The Central Process Unit(CPU) board of a power control unit possesses two Digital Signal Processors(DSPs) of the control DSP for performing the tasks of power control and system monitoring and the communication of the Control DSP and the Communication DSP. To accomplish the functions requested in the power control unit effectively, we have installed Field Programmable Gate Arrays(FPGAS) on the CPU board and have FPGAs perform the memory mapping, the generation of each chip selection signal, the giving and receiving of the signals between the power controllers dualized, the fault detection and the generation of the firing signals.

  • 디지털 신호를 처리하기 위해 특별히 제작된 ADSP-2105는 빠른 Fied-point 연산과 Harvard-architecture로 구조화됐기 때문에 빠른 수행연산을 할 수 가 있다. 본 논문은 이 DSP 프로세서를 이용해 음성신호의 실시간 FFT 분석에 관한 방법을 소개한다. 실시간 FFT 분석기로서의 DSP 보드는 크게 음성신호를 받는 입력부분과 FFT를 계산하는 FFT 부분으로 나뉘어지는데, 입력부분은 AD1849로 8KHz로 데이터를 샘플링해 받게 되었고, FFT 부분은 실제로 DSP가 FFT를 수행하는 부분으로 되어있다. 실시간 처리를 구현하기 위해 입력 부분은 두 개의 뱅크로 만들어 한 뱅크에서 음성신호를 받아들이는 동안에 다른 뱅크에서는 FFT를 계산하도록 되어있어서 DSP 보드는 항시 음성신호를 샘플링 할 수 있는 상태를 유지할 수 있다. 그리고 FFT 처리부는 빠른 처리로 음성신호를 샘츨링할 뱅크가 채워지기 전에 실행되게 프로그램되어 있어 실제적으로 모든 음성데이타를 FFT 하게 되어있다.

  • DSP-based implementation is pervasive in wireless communication parts for systems and handsets according to developing high-speed and low-power programmable Digital Signal Processor (DSP). In this paper, we present a real-time implementation of multi-channel Adaptive Multi-rate (AMR) speech coder. The real-time implementation of an AMR algorithm is achieved using 32-bit fixed-point TMS320C6202 DSP chip that operates at 250 MHz. We performed cross compile, linear assembly optimization and TMS320C62xx assembly optimization for real-time implementation. Furthermore, speech data input/output function and communication function with external CPU is included in an AMR speech coder. The AMR Speech coder developed using DSP EVM board was evaluated in ETRI IMT-2000 Test-bed system.

  • In this paper, we develop a vibration system which can generate diverse vibration effects in realtime by analyzing signals from the sound output of PC. This system is able to detect the occurrences of particular sounds in order to generate corresponding pre-programmed vibration patterns. It contributes to the improvement of the reality and the immersiveness of games and virtual reality applications. In addition, its advantage is to easily add vibration features to applications which were originally developed without consideration for vibration. Our system consists of an external DSP board for signal processing and a vibration pad which can be put on wrists. It is superior to other sound-driven vibration devices because its DSP board can detect more diverse sounds, has higher performance and does not interfere with PC. Also the wrist-wearable vibration pad is able to generate more realistic vibration than other mouse or joystick type devices.
