  • We propose a robust equalization algorithm to improve the performance of airplane flutter casuing dynamic ghosts. The algorithm is an augumentation of the DFE with training sequence(DFE-TS) with the Modified Stop-and-Go Algorithm(MSGA) based on DFE structure, which is called a DFE-TS/MSGA. This will allow the equalizer to switch itself back to blind mode almost instantaneously when drastic and sudden changes in the channel occur. Test results based on the 8-VSB HDTV receiver show that the proposed algorithm is robust against dynamic ghosts and outperforms the conventional DFE-TS in reducing the intersymbol interference.

  • Due to the increasing demand for carious methodologies to improve the quality of products were introduced. A Brush the most frequently used type of grinding process is one of the deburring. in order to produce consistent burr shape, various machining conditions have been combined and applied to disk grinding process. Between the workpiece and the grinding disc to earn depends on the angle of the slope has been observed. Drastic increase of tool wear has been also observed along the inclination angle variation. Various burr shapes have been captured and analyzed using image processing technique.

  • Most utiltity systems are subject to frequent changes, often due to increased loads and demand to up-grade quality of service provided. Urban renewal, expressway construction and suburban growth have also caused significant changes in urban utility distribution systems. Recently, it is required that a guideline for planning of a complete system, the reasonable design and construction methods for the efficient installation common utility tunnels must be estabilished. It prompts drastic measures to guard cities and their inhabitants against the horror of massive fires in the future. Preparedness holds the key to safety.

  • The design of Intelligent Energy Saving Power System Controller (IESPSC) for Telecom DC power plants is proposed and presented in this paper. From the past experience. rectifiers for Telecom DC power plants have been operated inefficiently at light loads. IESPSC offers "novel load sharing" approach based on the knowledge of each unit's efficiency of paralleled rectifiers. Neural networks is used for identifying each rectifier's efficiency characteristic curve corresponding to load currents, which is in turn utilized to produce a system efficiency close to the maximum under all operating conditions. In addition, by limiting the number of operating units to the minimum while maintaining high efficiency at the determined loads, a drastic savings in operating cost can be achieved.

  • The Magnetorheological fluid has the properties that its viscosity has drastic changed under some magnetic fields therefore, Magnetorheological fluids has been used fur micro polishing of the micro part(for example, a spherical surface in a micro lens). The polishing process may appears as follows. A part rotating on the spindle is brought into contact with an Magnetorheological finishing(MRF) fluids which is set in motion by the moving wall. In the region where the part and the MRF fluid are brought into contact, the applied magnetic field creates the conditions necessary for the material removal from the part surface. The material removal takes place in a certain region contacting the surface of the part which can be called the polishing spot or zone. The polishing mechanism of the material removal in the contact zone is considered as a process governed by the particularities of the Bingham flow in the contact zone. Resonable calculated and experimental magnitudes of the material removal rate for glass polishing lends support the validity of the approach.

  • Currently, the nation's medical industry is changing due to the rapid development of technology. In addition, medical accidents occurring in the medical industry are gradually increasing amid the drastic changes. Therefore, a possible solution to medical accidents in the changing health care industry is needed. Accordingly, this study uses network-centrality analysis to examine the business ecosystem of smart surgical medical systems to find ways to increase the efficiency of surgery as well as the resolution of medical accident problems, and to suggest the direction of development of the medical system in the future from a systematic business ecosystem perspective.

  • Recently, not only domestic businesses but also overseas businesses are expanding development and investment in automated warehouses as domestic and foreign logistics environments undergo drastic change. In such an environment, automated warehouse systems are being rapidly changed, and automated warehouse systems equipped with diversified functions are being developed accordingly. But the assessment systems of developed automated warehouse system is at a standstill. In the present article, characteristics of the automated warehouse systems in diversified development and trends of technology were analyzed, based on which evaluation items of functional suitability and reliability were derived by referring to ISO/IEC 25000 as the international quality assessment standard to secure reliability of the automated warehouse system, and an evaluation model was developed through the derived evaluation items. Through the present article, evaluation standards of functional suitability and reliability to enhance quality levels of automated warehouse systems are considered to be secured.

  • Proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is the most promising energy source for the robot applications because it has unique advantages such as high energy density, no power drop during operating, and easy to make compact size. However, PEMFC has intrinsic disadvantages which are delay to start up and difficulty to correspond drastic load changes. These disadvantages can be compensated by hybrid operating with a Li-poly battery. This study is focus to build and understand the hybrid system for the robot system. In this study, we build the PEMFC hybrid system using EOS-320 PEMFC stack, Li-poly battery and G-Philos FDX1-250BU dc-dc converter. The hybrid system is accurately monitored by CAN and RS485. The system was studied under two conditions such as non-loaded and loaded operating conditions. The results show that the system has delay to start up without hybrid operating and it can be compensated with the hybrid operating.

  • For kinematically redundant manipulators, conventional dynamic control methods of local torque optimization showed the instability which resulted in physically unachievable torque requirements. In order to guarantee stability of the null space vector method which resolves redundancy at the acceleration level, Maciejewski[1] analyzed the kinetic behavior of homogeneous solution component and proposed the condition to identify regions of stability and instability for this method. 'In this paper, a modified null space vector method is first presented based on the Maciejewski's condition which is a function of a manipulator's configuration. Secondly, a new control method which is based on the concept of aspects is proposed. It was shown by computer simulations that the modified null space vector method and the proposed method have a common property that a preferred aspect is preserved during the execution of a task. It was also illustrated that both methods demonstrate a drastic reduction of torque loadings at the joints in the tracking motion of a long trajectory when compared with the null space vector method, and thus guarantee the stability of joint torque.
