  • In this paper, we apply homotopy perturbation method (HPM) for solving ninth and tenth-order boundary value problems. The suggested algorithm is quite efficient and is practically well suited for use in these problems. The proposed iterative scheme finds the solution without any discretization, linearization or restrictive assumptions. Several examples are given to verify the reliability and efficiency of the method. The fact that the proposed homotopy perturbation method solves nonlinear problems without using Adomian's polynomials can be considered as a clear advantage of this technique over the decomposition method.

Effect of Silica Fume and Slag on Compressive Strength and Abrasion Resistance of HVFA Concrete

  • In this study, portland cement (PC) has been partially replaced with a Class F fly ash (FA) at level of 70 % to produce high-volume FA (HVFA) concrete (F70). F70 was modified by replacing FA at levels of 10 and 20 % with silica fume (SF) and ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS) and their equally combinations. All HVFA concrete types were compared to PC concrete. After curing for 7, 28, 90 and 180 days the specimens were tested in compression and abrasion. The various decomposition phases formed were identified using X-ray diffraction. The morphology of the formed hydrates was studied using scanning electron microscopy. The results indicated higher abrasion resistance of HVFA concrete blended with either SF or equally combinations of SF and GGBS, whilst lower abrasion resistance was noted in HVFA blended with GGBS.

  • The blast vibration can generate occupants dissatisfy as well as damage of physics nearby building. Then blast vibration estimation issue important problems. But, now blast vibration prediction inside-outside country not established objective method to express magnitude of vibration according to blast number. In this study, Our propose show our country problem of blast vibration about blast vibration measurement and this problems be able to find improve method.

  • A series of mesocosm experiments has been conducted to investigate the effects of sediment on the qualities of superficial water over the tidal flats. The experiments involved two different kinds of sediments (Silt and Fine Sand) to mimic the natural habitats. Other environmental conditions in the mesocosm were kept as natural as possible. The mesocosm coincided with the annual patterns of the natural water qualities and was identical with the composition of benthic organisms of three reference sites of natural tidal flats. DIP has been leached out from sediment from June to October, but not for ammonium and DIN. The mesocosm was successfully able to simulate the environmental situations of natural tidal flat and will be a useful tool to assess the environmental impacts by human activities.

Effect of Probiotics on Water Quality in the Shrimp (Fenneropenaeus chinensis) Ponds (대하 (Fenneropenaeus chinensis) 양식장 사육수에 미치는 Probiotics의 효과)

  • Applications of probiotics to shrimp ponds were carried out to determine their effects on water quality. Fermented solutions consisting of Bacillus spp. and Nitrosomonas spp. were applied to a 4 ha shrimp (Fenneropenaeus chinensis) pond from July to September, 2000. In the pond treated with probiotics, daily variations of DO and pH, and concentrations of DIN and DIP were lower than those in the ponds without probiotic treatment. Concentration of phytoplankton was less variable and the number of species was more variable in the probiotic-treated pond than those in the control pond. Variation of bacterial numbers and the number of Vibrio spp. were lower in the treated pond than those in the control pond. It is confirmed that the probiotics can be used to improve water quality of the shrimp ponds.

Characterization of vanadium carbide coating deposited by borax salt bath process

  • Thermal reactive diffusion coating of vanadium carbide on DIN 2714 steel substrate was performed in a molten borax bath at $950-1050^{\circ}C$. The coating formed on the surface of the substrate had uniform thickness ($1-12{\mu}m$) all over the surface and the coating layer was hard (2430-2700 HV), dense, smooth and compact. The influence of the kinetics parameters, temperature and time, has been investigated. Vanadium carbide coating was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDX) and X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD). The corrosion resistance of the coating was evaluated by potentiodynamic polarization in 3.5% NaCl solution. The results obtained showed that decrease of coating microhardness following increasing time and temperature is owing to the coarsening of carbides and coating grain size.

  • In this paper, we present a standard S/W solution for nursery administration. This S/W would substitute for classical nonscientific nursery management that has depended on personal experience and intuition. Especially, the suggest S/W design concepts are based on a diary writing on a computer. It means every statistical data and information for a sales forecast analyzed on the program just by keeping a din. Also it has two operation mode of easy menu and advanced menu for a different level of user.

  • GB-SAR (Ground-Based Synthetic Aperture Radar) 시스템은 지상에서 안테나의 정밀한 일축 제어를 통해 합성 구경(synthetic aperture) 효과를 얻어 높은 해상도의 영상을 얻는 레이더 스캐너(Radar Scanner) 의 일종이다. GB-SAR는 장기간에 걸쳐 안정 적으로 마이크로파 영상 및 위상을 얻을 수 있기 때문에,SAR간섭기법(interferometry)을 통하여 비교적 안정된 산란체의 시간에 따른 변위를 cm 혹은 mm 정밀도로 정량적으로 얻을 수 있으며, 또한 긴밀도(coherence)를 통해 산란체의 안정성을 정성적으로 추출해 낼 수 있다. 이 논문에서는 GB-SAR 시스템의 개발을 소개하고 여러 가지 영상 획득 모드를 통하여 얻어진 SAR 영상, DInSAR, Cross-Track InSAR, ${\triangle}k-InSAR$, PSInSAR, 및 SAR Polarimetry 등 GB-SAR 시스템의 다양한 응용 가능성을 간략하게 보였다.

Flavor development in cheddar cheese (체다 치즈의 맛의 개발)

  • This study was carried out to find a cholesterol removal rate, flavor development, and bitter amino acid productions in Cheddar cheese treated with -cyclodextrin (${\beta}-CD$): 1) Control (no homogenization, no ${\beta}--CD$), and 2) Milk treatment (1000 psi milk homogenization, 1% ${\beta}-CD$). The cholesterol removal of the cheese were 79.3%. The production of short-chain free fatty acids (FFA) increased with a ripening time in both control and milk treated cheese. The releasing quantity of short-chain FFA was higher din milk treated cheese than control at 5 and 7 mo ripening. Not much difference was found in neutral volatile compounds production between samples. In bitter-tasted amino acids, milk treatment group produced much higher than control. In sensory analysis, texture score of control Cheddar cheese significantly increased, however, that in cholesterol-reduced cheese decreased dramatically with ripening time.

  • The dynamic characteristic of the building using preflex composite beams is a low natural frequency due to long span. Therefore, both vibrational acceleration and the characteristic of natural frequency damage to people using the building, This study estimates a vibrational acceleration based on walking and natural frequency in five kinds of building. Recently, using methods of evaluating a serviceability are based on JIA, AISC, Eurocode, CSA, DIN and ISO. ed. The result of this study is content with foreign regulations and serviceability. However, considering of these results, the method of evaluating serviceability should be developed in the future.
