  • This paper proposes the analysis on new equipment for power quality in electrified railway. The proposed equipment consists of series and parallel inverter. Each inverter is connected by capacitor as dc link. This structure can be compensated for active and reactive power in catenary through transformer.

  • In Auxiliary block of High speed train Power factor correction and Harmonics reduction is very important issue for efficient energy transport. The GTO-equipped PWM converter is used for traction untill resently. but the rising power capability of IGBTs resently allows to build IGBT-equipped PWM converter with a considerably increases switching frequency. In this paper presents switching pattern, control method, operation mode and tuned filter to reduce dc link voltage ripple for paralleled converter.

  • In this paper, four quadrant CBPS(Compact Bipolar Power Supply) which development and study using universal PWM controller. The CBPS has 24V DC-link voltage, +/-5A output current, 50kHz switching frequency and 30Hz full load bandwidth using FET device. Proposed system has two independent PWM controllers for each full-bridge switch leg drive and PI control loops for current regulations. It is shown experimental results that good step response of the current output.

  • In this paper, a maximum power control of a low-cost and rugged cage-type induction generator system is proposed, where the machine-side PWM converter is used for maximum power generation and field excitation control, and the line-side PWM inverter is used for the dc link voltage control and source-side power factor control. Simulation results through Matlab Simulink have been demonstrated.

  • This paper presents a circuit design far clamping the overvoltages across the GTOs in three-level GTO inverters. The proposed circuit has two roles as follows; one is to minimize the power dissipation in each GTO. It can be achieved by clamping the overvoltage to half that of the DC-link voltage as exactly as possible. The other is to get blocking voltage balancing between the inner GTOs and the outer GTOs.

  • This paper presents a performance analysis of typical Auxiliary Resonant Commutation Snubber-assisted three phase voltage source soft switching inverter which can operate under a condition of Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) using a digital control scheme which is suitable for high power applications compared with resonant DC link snubber assisted soft switching inverter. The system performances of this inverter are illustrated and evaluated on the basis of experimental results.

  • This paper suggests a SRM control scheme driven by a variable voltage source. This scheme shows that it is unnecessary to introduce a switch to control dc-link voltage and to limit a phase current. And its vary easy to build-up flat-topped phase current which is advantageous to the high torque and efficiency drive of a SRM. Experimental tests are shown to verify this suggestion.

  • This paper presents a study on the modeling on the dimming control of electronic fluorescent lamp. The resulted models of the lamps were applied the two dimming control methods, one is the variable switching frequence and the other is the variable dc link voltage method. And the comparison of the dimming characteristics between the two methods was presented. Theoretical predictions were verified the experimental results on a 100w electrodeless fluorescent lamp.
