A Novel Droop Control Method to Minimize Distribution Loss in DC Microgrid (DC 마이크로그리드의 배전 손실 최소화를 위한 새로운 드룹 제어 기법)

  • Dc microgrid has the advantage of high efficiency as compared to the ac system. Droop method has been realized to suppress the current mismatching among the distributed sources. However, this method involves distribution loss due to the line impedance. In this paper, a novel droop method is proposed to minimize the distribution loss as well as the voltage deviation by adjusting the droop coefficient. The proposed droop method is verified by using the simulation based on PSCAD/EMTDC.

Job Description of the Nurses Who Work in Operating Room Using DACUM Technique (데이컴 직무분석 기법을 이용한 수술실 간호사의 직무분석)

  • Purpose: Developing a curriculum(DACUM) is a method of analyzing job focused competency, which is obtained from the data of an expert belonging to a certain career. In this study the DACUM method was used to analyze the jobs of operating room nurses. Method: Through the DACUM workshop which was arranged by two DACUM facillitators, a definition of the role of operating room nurses was developed and then duties and tasks of operating room nurses' were identified. For the workshop, a DACUM committee with 10 operating room nurses was organized. Finally, the duties and tasks which were identified were validated by 422 nurses for importance, difficulty and frequency. Results: Thirteen duties and 105 tasks were identified on the DACUM chart, where importance, difficulty, and frequency of tasks were represented by alphabet letters A, B, and C as higher degree of importance. The determinant coefficient(DC) showed that the most important duty was assisting with operations(DC=6.61), and the least, managing operating materials(DC=4.22). For tasks, the most important ones were assisting in orthostatic surgery(DC=7.60), and assisting in thoracic surgery(DC=7.38), and the least important making gauze ball(DC=2.39), and saving of operation site((DC=3.27). Conclusion: The results suggest a need to develop an education program using the DACUM chart as a basis for the development and as a clinical career ladder and for curriculum of operating room nursing.

  • A discrete Pl controller is implemented easily using a micro-processor, and it can be confirmed to a adaption of a system and real time processing. In this paper, a speed controller by discrete Pl control using a IBM PC/AT(12MHz) as a micro-processor is implemented and applied to a DC servo motor. In designing the discrite Pl controller, a sampling time and a speed is accepted from key-board, and is processed the control coefficient automatically, and than calculate the gain. Therefore the speed of a DC servo motor is obtained and controlled regulaly. The designed and manufactured discrete Pl control system is experimented. The result shows the good response at the 60 RPM to 250 RPM on the load using the load-spring. The speed error is under 1% on the steady load, but nearly 2-3% on the transient load.

Modification of DC Flashover Voltage at High Altitude on the Basis of Molecular Gas Dynamics

  • The effect of altitude on thermal conduction, surface temperature, and thermal radiation of partial arc was investigated on the basis of molecular gas dynamics to facilitate a deep understanding of the pollution surface discharge mechanism. The DC flashover model was consequently modified at high altitude. The validity of the modified DC flashover model proposed in this paper was proven through a comparison with the results of high-altitude simulation experiments and earlier models. Moreover, the modified model was found to be better than the earlier modified models in terms of forecasting the flashover voltage. Findings indicated that both the thermal conduction coefficient and the surface thermodynamics temperature of partial arc had a linear decrease tendency with the altitude increasing from 0 m to 3000 m, both of which dropped by approximately 30% and 3.6%, respectively. Meanwhile, the heat conduction and the heat radiation of partial arc both had a similar linear decrease of approximately 15%. The maximum error of DC pollution flashover voltage between the calculation value according to the modified model and the experimental value was within 6.6%, and the pollution flashover voltage exhibited a parabola downtrend with increasing of pollution.

Genetic Diversity and DNA Polymorphism in Platycodon grandiflorum DC. Collected from East-Asian Area

  • Broadening the genetic base of Platycodon grandiflorum DC. cultivar to sustain improvement requires assessment of genetic diversity available in P. grandiflorum DC.. The objective of this study was to analyze the genetic variation, genetic relationship among 48 samples collected from East-Asian Area by means of RAPD-PCR (random amplified polymorphic DNA-polymerase chain reaction) markers. From the 18 primers tested, produced total 211 bands with an average of 11.7 bands per primer and obtained 103 polymorphic band with an average of 5.7 bands per primer,s revealed relatively high percentage of polymorphic bands (48.8%). The genetic similarities calculated from RAPD data varied from 0.688 to 0.994 and were clustered to six major groups on a criterion of 0.78 similarity coefficient. The present study has revealed the significant genetic similarity among the samples tested. The analysis of genetic relationships in P. grandiflorum using RAPD-PCR banding data can be useful for the breed improvement.

Influence of post-annealing on DC degradation characteristics in $ZnO-Bi_2O_3$ Varistor ($ZnO-Bi_2O_3$ 계 바리스터에서 후열처리가 DC 열화 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • The relationship between the DC degradation characteristics of the $ZnO-Bi_2O_3$ varistor and post-annealing is investigated in this study. $ZnO-Bi_2O_3$ varistors containing $SiO_2$ range 0.3 mol% were fabricated by standard ceramic techniques. The post- annealing is performed at $550^{\circ}C$ for 0, 1.5 and 5h. A little phase transition is found according to the analysis of X-ray diffraction. DC degradation tests were conducted at $115\pm3^{\circ}C$ for periods up to 22h. Current-voltage analysis was used to determine nonlinear coefficients($\alpha$). Capacitance-voltage analysis enable the donor density($N_d$) and the barrier height($E_B$) to be determined. From above analysis, it is found that the past-annealing for 5h improved degradation characteristics in $ZnO-Bi_2O_3$ with Si additive.

Fabrication and Characteristics of Chromel-Constantan Multijunction Thermal Converter with Evanohm R Alloy Heater (Evanohm R 합금 히터를 사용한 크로멜-콘스탄탄 다중접합 열전변환기의 제작 및 특성)

  • A thin-film multijunction thermal converter was fabricated through the process using 6 inch silicon wafer semiconductor process and bulk micromachining. Evanohm R alloy and chromel-constantan were used as a heater and thermocouple materials, respectively. The temperature coefficient of resistance of Evanohm R heater was about 75.12 ppm/$^{\circ}C$ and the voltage sensitivity of the thermal converter indicated about 5.75 mV/mW in air. The transfer differences, measured by FRDC-DC method in the frequency range from 20 Hz to 10 kHz, showed the value under about 1.36 ppm, 0.83 ppm for the film thickness of 500, 200 nm, respectively. And in case of a 200 nm-thick thermal converter, the AC-DC transfer differences seems to be stabilized below the value of 1 ppm in the frequency range from 1 kHz to 500 kHz.

  • In this paper, CPW wideband distributed amplifier was designed and fabricated using 0.1 $\mum$ InGaAs/InAlAs/GaAs Metamorphic HEMT(High Electron Mobility Transistor). The DC characteristics of MHEMT are 442 mA/mm of drain current density, 409 mS/mm of maximum transconductance. The current gain cut-off frequency(fT) is 140 GHz and the maximum oscillation frequency(fmax) is 447 GHz. The distributed amplifier was designed using 0.1 $\mum$ MHEMT and CPW technology. We designed the structure of CPW curve, tee and cross to analyze the discontinuity characteristics of the CPW line. The MIMIC circuit patterns were optimized electromagnetic field through momentum. The designed distributed amplifier was fabricated using our MIMIC standard process. The measured results show S21 gain of above 6 dB from DC to 45 GHz. Input reflection coefficient S11 of -10 dB, and output reflection coefficient S22 of -7 dB at 45 GHz, respectively. The chip size of the fabricated CPW distributed amplifier is 2.0 mm$\times$l.2 mm.

Development of Thermal Sensor Devices in the $BaTiO_3$ Systems ($BaTiO_3$계 박막형 열전센서소자 개발)

  • $BaTiO_3$ ceramic thin films were manufactured by rf/dc magnetron sputter technique. We have investigated crystal structure, surface morphology and PTCR(positive-temperature coefficient of resistance) characteristics of the specimen depending on second heat-treatment temperatures. Second heat treatments of the specimen were performed in the temperature range of 400 to $1350^{\circ}C$. X-ray diffraction patterns of $BaTiO_3$ thin films show that the specimen heat treated below $600^{\circ}C$ is an amorphous phase and the one heat treated above $1100^{\circ}C$ forms a poly-crystallization. In the specimen heat-treated at $1300^{\circ}C$, a lattice constant ratio (c/a) was 1.188. Scanning electron microscope(SEM) image of $BaTiO_3$ thin films of the specimen heat treated in between 900 and $1100^{\circ}C$ shows a grain growth. At $1100^{\circ}C$, the specimen stops grain-growing and becomes a poly-crystallization.
