  • DC distribution system is difficult to compose the single-system because of the capacity restriction of power semiconductors. Therefore, DC Distribution system needs parallel operation of AC/DC converters for increase to system capacity. However, this system generates the circulating current. This paper is reducing the circulating current and safely sharing the load using the proposed DC current droop control method when each other 3-phase AC/DC converter connected. This system confirms through the simulation and experiment. Also, when each other converter of parallel operate. it is compared the response characteristics

  • The conventional Phase-Shift Full-Bridge (PSFB) converter has a serious voltage spike because of the ringing between the leakage inductance of the transformer and the parasitic output capacitance of the secondary side rectifier switches. To overcome this problem, an asynchronous active clamp technique employing an auxiliary DC/DC converter has been proposed. However, an exact analyses for designing the auxiliary DC/DC converter has not been presented. Therefore, the amount of power that is supposed to be handled in the auxiliary DC/DC converter is calculated through a precise mode analyses in this paper. In addition, this paper proposes a lossy snubber circuit with hysteresis characteristics to reduce the burden that the auxiliary DC/DC converter should take during the starting interval. This technique results in optimizing the size of the magnetic component of the auxiliary DC/DC converter. The operational principles and the theoretical analyses are validated through experiments with a 48V-to-30V/15A prototype.

  • In this paper, a high frequency flyback type zero voltage soft switching PWM DC-DC converter using IGBTs is proposed. Effective applications for this power converter can be found in auxiliary power supplies of rolling stock transportation and electric vehicles. This power converter is basically composed of active power switches and a flyback high frequency transformer. In addition to these, passive lossless snubbers with power regeneration loops for energy recovery, consisting of a three winding auxiliary high frequency transformer, auxiliary capacitors and diodes are introduced to achieve zero voltage soft switching from light to full load conditions. Furthermore, this power converter has some advantages such as low cost circuit configuration, simple control scheme and high efficiency. Its operating principle is described and to determine circuit parameters, some practical design considerations are discussed. The effectiveness of the proposed power converter is evaluated and compared with the hard switching PWM DC-DC converter from an experimental point of view and the comparative electromagnetic conduction and radiation noise characteristics of both DC-DC power converter circuits are also depicted.

  • In this paper, a current-fed two-inductor bi-directional DC/DC converter using resonance (CF-TIBCR) and its design method are proposed. The CF-TIBCR has characteristics of low current ripple and a high current rating because of two separated inductors. Also, it achieves zero voltage switching for all switches and zero current switching for switches of a low voltage stage by using the resonant tank. Besides, a voltage spike problem in conventional current-fed converters is solved without the need for an additional snubber or clamping circuits. As a result, the CF-TIBCR features high step-up and high efficiency. Since the proposed converter has difficulty achieving the soft-switching condition when the converter requires the low voltage transfer ratio, a method that varies the number of resonant cycles is adopted to extend the output voltage range with satisfying the soft-switching condition. The principles of the operation characteristics are presented with a theoretical analysis, and the proposed converter is verified through results of an experiment using a laboratory prototype.

  • The IGBT structure developed in this paper is used as a high power switch semiconductor for DC transmission and distribution and it is expected that it will be used as an important electronic device for new and long distance DC transmission in the future by securing fast switching speed and improved breakdown voltage characteristic. As a new type of next generation power semiconductors, it is designed to improve the switching speed while at the same time improving the breakdown voltage characteristics, reducing power loss characteristics, and achieving high current density advantages at the same time. These improved properties were obtained by further introducing SiO2 into the N-drift region of the Planar IGBT and were compared and analyzed using the Sentaurus TCAD simulation tool.

  • The gas discharge AND gate which have been newly proposed is applied to three electrode surface discharge AC PDP. The address discharge characteristics by the DC-AC floating discharge by which Y electrode is made floating electrode is analyzed The address discharge can be begun by using the floating discharge from the experiment result Moreover, the display discharge can be sustained. The DC priming discharge that the floating discharge is matched to timing is generated in a supplementary electrode. As a result, space charge is supplied enough to the space of the floating discharge and the data voltage is lowered up to l00(V). Driving method to use this DC-AC floating discharge is able to obtain the address operation margin of l00(V).

  • The conventional single phase PFC converter can control DC voltage to steady standard value but control system is system is complex and expensive and has rapidity problems because of controlled by detecting DC voltage, AC voltage and current. In order to solve those problems, this paper proposes senseless PFC converter circuit. The proposed circuit can control the whole system by detecting AC voltage waveform And it directly controlled DC output voltage by the controlled voltage value Kd(Ed/Ea). The fluctuation ratio of DC output voltage is changed by the circuit characteristics These characteristics are confirmed by some experimental results.

  • In this paper, the low power (1.5 W) solenoid-type magnetic thin-film transformers utilizing a $Ni_{81}Fe_{19)$ core material were designed and fabricated for 5 MHz-drive DC-DC converter application. The $20\mum$ thick copper films were used as the coils. The transformers fabricated in this work have the sizes of $3.08 mm\times25.5 mm\; and\; 6.15 mm\times12.75 mm.$ The optimum design of solenoid-type magnetic thin film transformers was performed utilizing the conventional equations, a Maxwell computer simulator (Ansoft HFSS V7.0 for PC), and parameters obtained from the magnetic properties of NiFe magnetic core materials. frequency characteristics of inductance, dc resistance (R), coupling factor (k) and gain of developed transformers were measured using HP4194A impedance and gain-phase analyzer. The fabricated transformers with the size of $6.15 mm\time12.75 mm$ exhibit the inductance of $0.83 \muH$, the dc resistance of $2.3\Omega$$\Omega$, the k of 0.91 and the gain of -1 dB at 5 MHz, which show the comparable results to those reported in the recent literatures. The measured high-frequency characteristics for the fabricated transformers agreed well with those obtained by theoretical calculations .

  • The DC over current relay(76i) and the DC under voltage relay(mid-point relay, 80A) used mainly with DC protective relay system of DC electric railway in Korea, But the DC fault selective relay(50F) is applying to recently mainly. In this study, simulation to compare 76i/80A and 50F in the methods of protection and the operational characteristics were executed through verifying a calculation of short circuit current and using PSCAD/EMTDC transition program. As a result of this study, it was proved that while 80A runs in relation to the scale of fault resistance, 50F runs regardless of the scale of fault resistance or the length of rail.

  • The DC characteristics of GaAs Gunn diode are investigated as a preliminary study on the planar grade gap injector GaAs Gunn diode which is the transferred electron device with high output power and dc-rf conversion efficiency. The Gunn devices we fabricated were confirmed to have the DC characteristics of negative differential resistance(NDR). We discussed the nature of the NDR effect, including the electron intervalley transfer; the NDR effect was examined for six different cathode radii.
