  • Super-lift dc-dc converters are a series of advanced step-up dc-dc topologies that provide high voltage transfer gains by super-lift techniques. This paper presents a developed graphical modelling method for super-lift converters and gives a thorough analysis with a consideration of the effects caused by parasitic parameters and diodes' forward voltage drop. The general guidelines for constructing and deriving graphical models are provided for system analysis. By applying it to examples, the proposed method shows the advantages of high convenience and feasibility. Both the circuit simulation and experimental results are given to support the theoretical analysis.

  • As development of the e-commerce, the distributing network for a logistics currency is more complicated. A management of the distributing network (DN) is important factor in distribution planning. The DN can be expressed to distribution center (DC) and the interaction of DC. An internal factor of DC and an external factor to occur by an interaction of DC have many influences on the DN. Therefore, for an efficient DN management plan, analysis of the DN that considered DC and an interaction of DC is required. Until now a study on a viewpoint of supply chain management as resources assignment was performed, but the study on analysis of the distribution network was not performed. This paper propose the distribution network analysis technique that considered DC and an interaction of DC. A proposed technique consists of two steps largely. First of all a DN is expressed with the graph that included an interaction of DC and DC. It uses a reachibility tree, and the following, a DN expressed with a graph is analyzed. Also we presented an example model, and show an usefulness of proposal technique with the analysis of this model.

  • Analysis methods in the power system are static analysis, dynamic analysis and online analysis, offline analysis. The static analysis is used for the existing power system analysis method and the static analysis is mainly used for PSS / E. However, in the real system where the value changes in real time which we are using, dynamic analysis is required which can be analyzed in real time for accurate analysis. Therefore, attention is focused on EMS (Energy Management System) and importance is increasing. Among the various EMS systems, we will cover state estimation, which is a static on-line analysis that can receive and interpret data from the acquisition point in real time. DC systems are spreading in various fields such as DC load, DC distribution, renewable energy. As such, much attention and attention are focused on the DC system. In this paper, we have studied the feasibility through the case study and the interpretation of the state estimation that can be applied to the DC system.

  • This paper describes the overvoltage through lightning surge analysis on underground system in DC combined distribution systems. It is considered that operating micro grid including distributed generation with smart grid can make possibility of composing new distribution system different from existing one. However, there are many papers about low voltage DC distribution in grids or buildings but not many about replacement or distributing 22.9kV AC distribution system to DC system. Among many research need for DC system development, overvoltage is studied in this paper. Overvoltage is simulated on DC cable when lightning strikes to overhead grounding wire which is installed at the nearest location from power cable section. Analysis as well as modeling is performed in EMTP/ATPDraw. It is evaluated that analysis results can be used to design of DC underground distribution power cable system.

  • This paper presents real-time Direct Current (DC) network analysis applications for operation of DC distribution system or DC microgrid. These applications are installed on central Energy Management System (EMS) and provide solutions of DC network operation. To analysis DC distribution network, this paper proposes composition and sequence of applications. Algorithm of applications is presented in this paper. Demonstration tests are performed on DC distribution site in Gochang Power Testing Center of Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO). To verify the performance, developed DC applications installed on EMS. Scenarios for demonstration test of voltage control are presented. Finally, measured data, application output data and simulation data (by PSCAD/EMTDC) are compared and analyze accuracy of applications.

  • Direct current(DC) systems have recently attracted attention due to the increase in DC loads and distributed generations, such as renewable energy sources. Among these technologies, there has been much research into DC distribution systems or DC microgrids. Within this body of research, the main topics have been about optimum control and operation methods in terms of improving power efficiency. When DC systems are controlled and operated using power electronic devices such as converters, it is necessary to design and analyze them by considering the power electronics sections. For this reason, we propose a scalable DC system analysis algorithm, which considers various system configurations depending on the operating mode and location of the converter. The algorithm consists of power flow fault current calculations, and the results of the algorithm can be used for designing DC systems. The algorithm is implemented using MATLAB with defined input and output data. The verification of the algorithm is mainly performed using ETAP software, and the accuracy of the algorithm analysis can be confirmed through the results.

  • In this paper, a novel zero-voltage-switching(ZVS) resonant DC-DC converter is proposed. It is composed of two symmetrical active-clamped circuits, the converter can be achieve ZVS in each switches. Also, active clamp capacitor ratios($\alpha$) of proposed circuit can be reduce a peak stress of switching voltage for each main switch. Simulation results using Pspice 9.2 ver and $C^{++}$ characteristic analysis show a provement for the validity of theoretical analysis. The analysis of the proposed Current-Fed Push Pull type DC-DC converter is generally described by using normalized parameter, and achieved an evaluated characteristic values which is needed to design a circuit. We confirm a rightfulness theoretical analysis by comparing a theoretical values and experimental values obtained from experiment using MOSFET as switching devices.

  • This paper presents new self excited DC-DC converters such as Buck-boost type, Buck type and also non-inverting Buck-boost type. The proposed converters has the following advantages: simple topology, small number of circuit components, easy control method. Therefore, these converters are suitable for the portable appliances with battery source. It is especially suited for low power DC-DC conversion applications where non isolation output power is usually required. The steady state characteristics of proposed self exciting Buck-boost DC-DC converter are analysis and the result shows good agreement with experimental value. Furthermore the experimental results for 50W class self oscillating Buck-boost DC-DC converter have been obtained, which demonstrate the high efficiency and good performance.
