  • Fire or electrical problem while DC electric traction vehicle operation caused by various reasons can lead to not only suspension of the operation, but also severe aftermath such as massive casualty. In this paper, fire analysis on DC electric traction vehicle caused by electrical breakdown on line breaker, which is in connection with the power supply, is presented. When the electric arc, the by-product of frequent line breaker operation, is not fully diminished, it leads to electrical breakdown and fire. Especially, electrical breakdown can be easily induced by the open-and-close operation of inner contractor inside line breaker, eventually followed by ground fault and generation of transient current. Electric arc is consequent on the ground fault and acts as possible ignition source, leading to fire. Also, during the repetitive operation of the line breaker, the contactor is separated each other and some copper powder is generated, and the copper powder provided breakdown path, resulting in fire.

  • Among the alternative energy sources, the solar energy is recognized as an important energy source and its application is increasing. Especially in future, the hybrid solar energy generation system with battery will be widely used as an independent distributed power generation system. In this paper, a solar power hybrid home generation system using a contactless power supply (CPS) that can transfer an electric power without any mechanical contact by using magnetic coupling instead of the power transfer by directly supplying the DC power to the home electric system is proposed. The proposed system consists of a ZVS boost converter, a half bridge LLC resonant converter and contact-less transformer.

  • The protection algorithm of DC line grounding for the subway is proposed in this paper. Compared to the conventional protection algorithm, the proposed algorithm has a advantage that can distinguish the difference between service line and faulted line. The contents of the proposed algorithm are by using blocking filter and PLC(Power Line Carrier). Results of the simulation show that the proposed algorithm is very useful.

  • Marine controlled-source electromagnetic transmitters (MCSETs) are important in marine electromagnetic exploration systems. They play a crucial role in the exploration of solid mineral resources, marine oil, and gas and in marine engineering evaluation. A DC-DC controlled-source circuit is typically used in traditional MCSETs, but using this circuit in MCSETs causes several problems, such as large voltage ringing of the high-frequency diode, heating of the insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) module, high temperature of the high-frequency transformer, loss of the duty cycle, and low transmission efficiency of the controlled-source circuit. This paper presents a clamping-diode circuit for MCSET (CDC-MCSET). Clamping diodes are added to the controlled-source circuit to reduce the loss of the duty ratio and the voltage peak of the high-frequency diode. The temperature of the high-frequency diode, IGBT module, and transformer is decreased, and the service life of these devices is prolonged. The power transmission efficiency of the controlled-source circuit is also improved. Saber simulation and a 20 KW MCSET are used to verify the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed CDC-MCSET.

  • This study deals with an on-line software fault detection, localization, and system reconfiguration method for electrical system drives composed of three-phase AC/DC/AC converters and three-phase permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) drives. Current sensor failure (outage), speed/position sensor loss (disconnection), and damaged DC-link voltage sensor are considered faults. The occurrence of these faults in PMSM drive systems degrades system performance and affects the safety, maintenance, and service continuity of the electrical system drives. The proposed method is based on the monitoring signals of "abc" currents, DC-link voltage, and rotor speed/position using a measurement chain. The listed signals are analyzed and evaluated with the generated residuals and threshold values obtained from a Sliding Mode Current-Speed-DC-link Voltage Observer (SMCSVO) to acquire an on-line fault decision. The novelty of the method is the faults diagnosis algorithm that combines the use of SMCSVO and adaptive thresholds; thus, the number of false alarms is reduced, and the reliability and robustness of the fault detection system are guaranteed. Furthermore, the proposed algorithm's performance is experimentally analyzed and tested in real time using a dSPACE DS 1104 digital signal processor board.

  • The after 1974 capital region electric railroad is opened to traffic Koraill and Seoul metro adopt each other different power supply method and they operate and they are come. AC 25[kv] method voltage the insulation becomes larger standing distance highly, the case tunnel section which will introduce in the underground segment becomes on a large scale and the cost of construction increases to the city center and the underground segment adoption of DC method was many. To recent times with R-bar (Rigid-bar) introductions change of tunnel section the introduction of AC method came to be easy without in the underground segment. Operates sees in the electric protection where the Seoul metro and the Korail are different each other and, from the dead section segment the interior electric light to put out lights the passenger brings about inconveniently and the civil appeal which demands a power supply method unification occurs, within the company interchange electric railroad brazier safety improvement and maintenance expense curtailment etc. the flaw is original proposal, is a condition which finishes a feasibility study service about the power supply method fringe land. Interchange analysis of the DC electric railway it leads from the present paper and it compares under analyzing being it could be reflected to also the route which is in the process of actual using boil the strong point and a weak point of DC and AC method of the establishment route constructive at the time of and
