Performance Analysis of Rotation-lock Differential Precoding Scheme (회전로크 구조의 차분 선부호화 기법의 성능 분석)

  • Long term evolution (LTE) and LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) systems adopt closed-loop multiple-input multiple-output antenna techniques. Equal gain transmission which has equal gain property is the key factor in their codebook design. In this paper, a novel differential codebook structure which maintains the codebook design requirements of LTE or LTE-A systems. Especially, eight-phase shift keying (8-PSK) constellations are used as elements of codewords, which not only maintain equal gain property but also reduce the computation complexity of precoding and decoding function blocks. The equal gain property is very important to uplink because the performance of uplink is very sensitive to the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). Moreover, the operation of the proposed differential codebook is explained as a rotation-lock structure. As the results of computer simulations, the steady-state throughput performance of the proposed codebook shows at least 0.9dB of SNR better than those of the conventional LTE codebook with the same amount of feedback information.

  • Four new lanostane-type triterpenes were isolated from CH$_2$Cl$_2$ fraction of Ganoderma applanatum (Polyporaceae). There structures were determined as (20S)-3${\beta}$, 7${\beta}$, 20,23ζ-tetrahydroxy-1l,15-dioxolanosta-8-en-26-oic acid, (20S)-7${\beta}$,20,23ζ- trihydroxy-3,1l,15-trioxolanosta-8-en-26-oic acid, 7${\beta}$,23ζ-dihydroxy-3,11,15- trioxolanosta-8,20E(22)-dien-26-oic acid, and 7${\beta}$-hydroxy-3, 11,15,23-tetraoxolanosta-8,20E(22)-dien-26-oic acid methyl ester on the basis of spectral data.

  • S.deltoides (Compositae) distributed widely in Korea. China. It is edible as a food additive. but there has been no study on chemical constituents. Therefore. we isolated nine compounds from S.deltoldes. On the basis of spectroscopic evidence. the structure of these compounds were characterized as lupeol( 1), $\alpha$-amyrin(2).$\beta$-amyrin (3), ursolic acid(4), nonacosanol(5), nonacosanoic acid(6). mixture of $\beta$-sitosterol. stigmasterol and campesterol (7), $\beta$-sitosteryl-3-O-$\beta$-D-glucopyranoside(8), stigmasteryI-3-O-$\beta$-D-glucopyranoside(9).   • A column switching HPLC assay was developed to allow the separation and quantitation of cetirizine in human plasma by ultraviolet (UV) detection. Plasma samples were prepared by liquid-liquid extraction. After drying, the residue was reconstituted in 20 mM phosphate buffer (pH 2.8) containing 15% acetonitrile. The samples were initially injected onto a clean-up Capcell Pak MF C18 column. (50 mm $\times$ 4.6 mm I.D.), and the chromatographic region containing the peaks of interest was followed in an analytical C18 microcolumn (250 mm$\times$1.5 mm I. D.) via column switching device.   • In the course of hepatoprotective screening for domestic plants. the aerial parts of B. vulgaris var. cycla exhibited hepatoprotective activity which was determined by using the primary cultures of rat hepatocytes injured by H2O2. Bioactivity-guided separation for this plant gave a new flavonoid (1) and the known compounds (2-4), which structures were elucidated by 1H-NMR, HMQC, 1H-1H COSY and HMBC as compound 1, apigenin 8-C-, 7-O-di-$\beta$-D-glucopyranoside, compound 2, vitexin 2"-O-$\beta$-D-glucopyranoside, compound 3, (+)-dehydrovomifoliol, and compound 4, 3-hydroxy-5$\alpha$, 6$\alpha$-epoxy-$\beta$-ionone.

  • In this paper, a new six-port direct conversion receiver for high-speed multi-band multi-mode wireless communication system such as software defined radio(SDR) is proposed. The designed receiver is composed of two CMOS four-port BPSK receivers and a dual-band one-stage polyphase filter for quadrature LO signal generation. The four-port BPSK receiver, implemented in 0.18 ${\mu}m$ CMOS technology for the first time in microwave-band, is composed of two active combiners, an active balun, two power detector, and an analog decoder. The proposed polyphase filter adopt type-I architecture, one-stage for reduction of the local oscillator power loss, and LC resonance structure instead of using capacitor for dual-band operation. In order to extent the operation RF bandwidth of the proposed six-port receiver, we include I/Q phase and amplitude calibration scheme in the six-port junction and the power detector. The calibration range of the phase and amplitude mismatch in the proposed calibration scheme is 8 degree and 14 dB, respectively. The validity of the designed six-port receiver is successfully demonstrated by modulating M-QAM, and M-PSK signal with 40 Msps in the two-band of 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz.

  • In this paper. we propose receiver algorithms for VHF(Very High Frequency) digital link mode-2(VDL Mode-2) systems. Unlike conventional digital communication systems using the root raised cosine filter as a transmit and receive filter, raised cosine filter is used as a transmit filter in VDL Mode-2 systems. Hence, it is crucial to design and implement the optimum lowpass receive filter by considering the amount of inter-symbol interference and noise performance. On the other hand, due to the short preamble pattern, it is crucial to develop an efficient packet detection algorithm for reliable communication link. In this paper, we design the optimum receive filter and packet detection algorithm and evaluate the performance of receiver adopting the proposed receive filter and packet detection algorithm.

  • A LC/MS/MS method for the simultaneous determination of the activities of seven major human drug-metabolizing cytochrome P450s (CYP3A4. CYP2D6. CYP2C9. CYP1A2, CYP2C19, CYP2A6. and CYP2C8) was developed. This method used an in vitro cocktail of specific substrates (midazolam. bufuralol. diclofenac, ethoxyresorufin. S-mephenYlOin. coumarin. and paclitaxel) and LC/MS/MS. The assay incubation time is 20 min and the analysis time is 8 min/sample. (omitted)

  • 20-O-(${\beta}$-D-Glucopyranosyl)-20(S)-protopanaxadiol (IH901), an intestinal bacterial metabolite of ginseng saponins formed from ginsenosides Rb1, Rb2 and Rc, is suggested to be a potential chemopreventive agent. Here we show that IH901 induces apoptosis in human hepatoblastoma HepG2 cells. IH901 led to an early activation of procaspase-3 (6 h posttreatment), and the activation of caspase-8 became evident only later (18 h posttreatment). Caspase activation was a necessary requirement for apoptosis because caspase inhibitors significantly inhibited cell death by IH901. (omitted)

  • In a TDD system, the length of slots can be unequal, and the number of downlink (DL) and uplink (UL) slots per frame can be different as well. The advantage of using TDD is the capability to accommodate asymmetric high-bit-rate services for the DL and It, which will be one of the prominent features in 4G systems. This paper analyzes the performance of TDD system on mobile channel environments like indoor pedestrian and vehicular channel, and proposes optimum modulation/demodulation method in TDD system. A rectangular QAM (RQAM) used in various communication systems has good BER performance but the much more signal amplitudes also have become one of the barriers to implement receiver. While PSK receiver is implemented easily because it has a constant amplitude, but it's BER performance is worse than RQAM. APSK proposed in this paper integrates merits of RQAM and PSK, and minimizes demerits of then And a simple method is also proposed to demodulate the soft symbol. The results indicate that the proposed APSK has a little worse performance than RQAM but the dynamic range of APSK is about 4 dB, 8 dB better than RQAM at 16-ary, 64-ary modulation/demodulation respectively.
