A Study of Corona Discharge in Polymer Insulators by Artificial UV Radiation (인위적인 자외선 조사량에 따른 폴리머애자에서의 코로나 방전 특성)

  • In this study, degradation was observed by irradiating UV rays to the polymer insulators which have been widely used in outdoor electric power facilities. For an indoor accelerated UV test, 0.55 w/m2 of UV rays were applied using a xenon-arc method. A UV detection system with 65 ${\phi}mm$ in diameter, 100 mm in length and 1.0 of brightness (F/#) has been designed. Even though efflorescence on the surface of polymer insulators wasn't observed according to the accelerated UV test. UV rays were detected at around 50% and 40% of insulation breakdown in EPDM and silicone-type insulators respectively. As degradation continued because of an indoor accelerated UV test, breakdown voltage with which UV rays can be detected in an early stage decreased as well. A silicone polymer insulator would be severer than EPDM polymer insulator in terms of surface degradation because of UV strength against $V_m/V_{BD}$ was high in silicone polymer insulators. UV strength in silicone-type insulators increased at 1,000 $kJ/m^2$ because contact angle at the intial stage sharply decreased to from $113^{\circ}$ to $92.1^{\circ}$.

  • H-브릿지 멀티레벨 인버터는 여러 개의 단상 Power Cell을 직렬로 연결함으로써 저전압 전력용 반도체를 사용하여 고전압을 얻을 수 있고, 정현파에 가까운 출력전압 파형을 얻을 수 있는 멀티레벨 인버터 토폴로지이다. 본 토폴로지는 출력전압 레벨에 비례하여 Power Cell의 수가 증가하므로, 주제어기의 연산능력에 대한 부담증가와 신호선의 많아지는 단점이 있다. 따라서 Power Cell제어를 직접적인 PWM 신호가 아닌 통신을 사용함으로써 이러한 단점을 극복할수 있으며, 신뢰성 측면이나 보수/유지 측면에서도 유리하다. 본 논문은 산업현장에서 신뢰성을 인정받아 많이 사용되고 있는 직렬통신 방식의 일종인 CAN통신 인터럽터를 이용한 H-브릿지 멀티레벨 인버터 Power Cell의 PWM 동기화 및 위상 전이 방법에 관한 것이다. 제안된 방법의 주요 장점은 주제어기와 셀 제어기 사이에 직렬통신(CAN)을 사용함으로써 주제어기와 셀 제어기의 신호선의 단순화, 주제어기의 부담 감소, Power Cell의 모듈화, 셀 단위의 보호동작 용이, 확장성 향상 그리고 제어 신호 및 Power Cell의 신뢰성을 향상에 있다. 13레벨로 구성된 H-브릿지 멀티레벨 인버터 시험을 통해 제안된 방법의 타당성과 신뢰성을 입증하였다.

  • The purpose of this study was to test the hypothesis that even very small change of the cue direction in the treatment of the early osteonecrosis could affect the outcomes of operation. For this, the changes in stress transfer within the necrotic area of the femoral head were investigated under various directions and placements of the core utilizing finite element method. The loading of 3188N, which represents after-heel-strike, was imposed in cubic cosine pattern. All nodes on the most distal surface of the model were constrained in all directions. All materials included were assumed to have linear-elastic behavior. The result says that the critical stress, which causes collapse of the femoral head, was reduced when the core was oriented toward the posterior side of the femoral head regardless of location of the necrotic area. The same result was obtained either fibular bone grafting or cementation was adopted. As a consequence, the biomechanical study suggests that the core should be directed toward the loading point where the resultant force is applied to get more desirable treatment of the osteonecrosis of the femoral head in the early stage.

Comparison of EMG and Muscle Reaction Force to Detect Exercise Intention (운동의도 검출을 위한 근육반력과 근전도의 비교)

  • Activeness of exercise is critical for stroke rehabilitation so that application of stimulation in response to patient's intention would be effective in FES cycling. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between muscle reaction force (MRF) and electromyogram (EMG) during cycling exercise, for the future usage of MRF as patients' intention signal. Seven young men ($24{\pm}1.63$ yrs) participated in this study. Cycling speed was set to 20 RPM and 60 RPM. MRF and EMG were measured in the vastus lateralis muscle of right leg. Active cycling was performed at the maximal load (16 Nm) of an ergometer. Angle dependent artifact in MRF was measured from passive cycling and was subtracted from the MRF of active cycling. The delay of MRF with respect to EMG envelope and their correlation coefficients were derived from the best of cross correlation. MRF was significantly correlated with EMG amplitude in all subjects (p<0.01). Their mean correlations were 0.84 and 0.91 for 20 RPM and 60 RPM, respectively. Mean delay in MRF was 59.14 ms and 53.14 ms for 20 RPM and 60 RPM, respectively. The result suggests that MRF can be used to assess patient's intention for exercise as a substitute to EMG. The method may be applied to FES cycling to encourage patient's effort which is critical for stroke rehabilitation.

  • Low resistance Ni thin films for using NiSi formation and metallization by atomic layer deposition (ALD) method have been studied. ALD temperature window is formed between $200^{\circ}C\;and\;250^{\circ}C$ with deposition rate of $1.25{\AA}$/cycle. The minimum resistance of deposited Ni films shows $4.333\;{\Omega}/\square$ on the $SiO_2/Si$ substrate by $H_2$ direct purging process. The reason of showing the low resistance is believed to be due to format ion of the $Ni_3C$ phase by residual carbon in Bis-Ni The deposited film exhibits excellent step coverage in the trench having 1(100 nm) : 16 (1.6 um) aspect ratio.

Fertigation Techniques Using Fertilizers with Peristaltic Hose Pump for Hydroponics (연동펌프를 이용한 비료염 공급 관비재배기술 연구)

  • This study was conducted to develop the fertigation system with a peristaltic hose pump and brushless DC motor. The fertigation system was consisted of sensor, main controller, motor control unit, peristaltic pump, water supply pump, control panel, and filter. The peristaltic pump discharges liquid by squeezing the tube with rollers. Rollers attached to the external circumference of the rotor compresses the flexible tube. The fluid is contained within a flexible tube fitted inside a circular pump casing. The developed fertigation system has no mixing tank but instead injects directly a concentrated nutrient solution into a water supply pipe. The revolution speed of the peristaltic pump is controlled by PWM (Pulse width modulation) method. When the revolution speed of the peristaltic pump was 300rpm, the flow rate of the 3.2, 4.8, 6.3mm diameter tube was 202, 530, 857mL/min, respectively. As increasing revolution speed, the flow rate of the peristaltic pump linearly increased. As the inner diameter of a tube larger, a slope of graph is more steep. Flow rate of three roller was more than that of four roller. Flow rate of a norprene tube with good restoring force was more than that of a pharmed tube. As EC sensor probe was installed in direct piping in comparison with bypass piping showed good performance. After starting the system, it took 16~17 seconds to stabilize EC. The maximum value of EC was 1.44~1.7dS/m at a setting value of 1.4dS/m. The developed fertigation system showed ±0.06dS/m deviation from the setting value of EC. In field test, Cucumber plants generally showed good growth. From these findings, this fertigation system can be appropriately suitable for fertigation culture for crops.

  • In a batch mode treatment process, which electrolyzes the wastewater after derivation of N-P crystal formation and recovery, the characteristics of pollutant removal induced with the changes of loading rate and hydraulic retention time were studied. $MgCl_2$ was used as Mg source for the formation of struvite and the molar ratio of $MgCl_2$ to $PO_4^{3-}$ in influent was 1.3. When analyzing the average treatment efficiencies and removal characteristics obtained from four separate operations (Run I, II, III, IV), removal efficiencies of PO43- was not function of its loading rate. Under a condition of sufficient aeration and Mg source provided, over 88% of $PO_4^{3-}$ was eliminated by the formation of MAP without any pH adjustment, in spite of loading rate variation. An optimum-loading rate of NH4-N to achieve high removal efficiency was approximately $100g/m^3/d$. Below that loading rate, the removal of NH4-N was proportional to the loading rate into the system, and hence stable and high removal efficiency, over 90%, was achieved. However, when the loading rate increased over that rate, removal efficiency began to drop and fluctuate. Removal efficiency of TOCs was dependant upon the hydraulic retention time ($r^2$=0.97), not upon the loading rate. Stable and high color removal (94%) was obtained with 2 days of HRT in electrolysis reactor.

  • SmBCO coated conductors were successfully fabricated using EDDC (Evaporation using Drum in Dual Chambers) deposition system that is a bath type co-evaporation system for fabrication of superconducting tape and divided into two chambers named evaporation chamber and reaction chamber. To obtain long and high quality superconducting coated conductor, it is very important to secure the uniformity of all the deposition parameters m the deposition system such as deposition temperature, oxygen partial pressure, compositional ratios and so on. Therefore, we investigated the distribution of the parameters along the axis of the drum m EDDC on which tapes were wound helically. When the temperature on the middle point of deposition zone was $700^{\circ}C$, that on the edge of deposition zone was $675^{\circ}C$. When the thickness of SmBCO layer on the middle point of deposition zone was 1063 nm, that on the edge of deposition zone was 899 nm. The partial pressure of oxygen was 5 mTorr in the reaction chamber while that was $7{\times}10^{-5}$Torr in the evaporation chamber. The composition ratio of Sm:Ba:Cu, that was measured by EDX, was very uniform along the axis of the drum. Under these deposition conditions, critical current distribution along the drum axis was 175 A/cm, 190A/cm, 217.5 A/cm, 182.5 A/cm, 175 A/cm with the interval of 9 cm between samples. It means that the EDDC system has the potential of fabricating (100m, 200A) class coated conductor.

Effect of CIDR on Estrus Synchronization and Artificial Insemination of Korean Native Goat (CIDR를 이용한 재래 흑염소의 발정동기화와 인공수정)

  • Artificial insemination (AI) technology has widely applied in domestic animals including cattle for production and preservation of valuable animals. However, AI in goat was poorly studied. We here compared two different estrus synchronization methods, CIDR (controlled intravaginal drug release)+$PGF_2a$ and CIDR+PMSG, in Korean native goats. After treatment of CIDR+$PGF_2a$ or CIDR+PMSG for estrus synchronization, AI was applied to 38 recipients. Of 18 recipients treated with CIDR+$PGF_2a$, 4 recipients produced offsprings. However, no pregnancy was obtained in 20 recipients treated with CIDR+PMSG. Especially, after treatment of CIDR+$PGF_2a$, AI with fresh or frozen sperm showed markedly higher parturition rates than that of CIDR+PMSG. From these results, we suggest that combination of CIDR and $PGF_2a$ could be used as good method for estrus synchronization in Korean native goats.

  • Normally, aero photography using UAV uses about 430 MHz bandwidth radio frequency (RF) modem and navigates and remotely controls through the connection between UAV and ground control system. When using the exhausting method, it has communication range of 1-2 km with frequent cross line and since wireless communication sends information using radio wave as a carrier, it has 10 mW of signal strength limitation which gave restraints on life my distance communication. The purpose of research is to use communication technologies such as long-term evolution (LTE) of smart camera, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and other communication modules and cameras that can transfer data to design and develop automatic shooting system that acquires images to UAV at the necessary locations. We conclude that the android based UAV filming and communication module system can not only film images with just one smart camera but also connects UAV system and ground control system together and also able to obtain real-time 3D location information and 3D position information using UAV system, GPS, a gyroscope, an accelerometer, and magnetic measuring sensor which will allow us to use real-time position of the UAV and correction work through aerial triangulation.
