권백(Selaginella involvens) 물 추출물의 혈관 형성억제 및 혈관내피세포 이주 억제 효과 (Inhibitory Effects of Water Extract of Selaginella involvens on the Tube Formation and Invasion of Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells)

  • Among pteridophytes, Selaginella involvens Spring and Equisetum orvense L. are used in folk medicine in Eastern Asian countries including Korea. The water extracts from Selaginella involvens spring (SW) and from Equistum arvense L (EW) did not affect viability of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). However, SW dose-dependently inhibited tube formation and migration of HUVECs, whereas EW did not. These results suggest that the water extract from Selaginella involvens Spring may have anti-angiogenic activity.

  • The Law method is observing the temporal bone. There are two types of methods: the double angle method, which manipulates the center ray angle of the tube twice, and the single angle method, which manipulates once. The purpose is to increase the reproducibility of the image by making vertical incidence by making an assistive device using a 3D printer. Two assistive devices with a wedge-shaped 8.5 × 10 × 2.3 cm, an inclined surface of 7.5 cm, and an inclination angle of 15° were fabricated. Assistive devices can be combined with each other in the form of grooves, and PLA (Poly Lactic Acid) is used as a material. In the first experiment, 10 examiners operated the tube 15° in the caudad direction and 15° in the anterior direction, and measured it with a protractor to conduct a reproducibility experiment. Second, two examiners acquired vertically incidence images using the existing law method and assistive devices, and measured the distance between each measurement point to evaluate the reproducibility. The tube center ray angle reproducibility experiment was not statistically significant, but the angle difference was up to 9° between examiners. The reproducibility experiment of radiographic images was not statistically significant with the conventional method, and the method using an assistive device was statistically significant. Therefore, regardless of skill level, an image capable of securing reproducibility, which is the advantage of vertical incidence, could be obtained.

Wilson plot기법을 이용한 2중관식 대향류 열교환기의 단상 열전달에 관한 연구 (A study on the single-phase heat transfer in a counter-flow double-pipe heat exchanger by Wilson plot technique)

  • An experimental study of a counterflow heat exchanger was performed. The heat exchanger had an effective heat transfer length of 1000mm and was operated in a counterflow arrangement with hot water($30{\pm}0.5^{\circ}C$, $Re_i=3500{\sim}20000$) in the inner tube(copper tube, $d_0=9.52mm$) and cold water($15{\pm}0.5^{\circ}C$, $Re_{DH}=10700{\sim}39000$) in the annulus(copper tube, $D_0=19.05mm$). Overall heat transfer coefficients were calculated and heat transfer coefficients in the inner tube and the annulus were determined using Wilson plots. The inner Nusselt number was compared with that of Gnielinski's correlation and they agreed within ${\pm}10%$ error. The trends were typical for a fluid-to-fluid heat exchanger with the overall heat transfer coefficient increasing with both inner and annulus flow rates. In the range of this experiment, Nusselt numbers for the inner tube flow were almost identical with those of the annulus flow at the same Reynolds number.

Convective heat transfer of MWCNT / HT-B Oil nanofluid inside micro-fin helical tubes under uniform wall temperature condition

  • Experiments are performed to investigate the single-phase flow heat transfer augmentation of MWCNT/HT-B Oil in both smooth and micro-fin helical tubes with constant wall temperature. The tests in laminar regime were carried out in helical tubes with three curvature ratios of 2R/d=22.1, 26.3 and 30.4. Flow Reynolds number varied from 170 to 1800 resulting in laminar flow regime. The effect of some parameters such as the nanoparticles concentration, the dimensionless curvature radius (2R/d) and the Reynolds number on heat transfer was investigated for the laminar flow regime. The weight fraction of nanoparticles in base fluid was less than 0.4%. Within the applied range of Reynolds number, results indicated that for smooth helical tube the addition of nanoparticles to the base fluid enhanced heat transfer remarkably. However, compared to the smooth helical tube, the average heat transfer augmentation ratio for finned tube was small and about 17%. Also, by increasing the weight fraction of nanoparticles in micro-fin helical tubes, no substantial changes were observed in the rate of heat transfer enhancement.

  • 점착성과 소수성을 제거함으로써 실리콘 EVD 튜브의 성능을 향상시키기 위하여 저온 플라스마 공정을 이용한 실리콘 고무의 표면개질을 시도하였다. 고분자를 형성하지 않는 플라스마를 이용한 표면처리와 고분자를 형성하는 플라스마를 이용한 박막코팅 방법을 시도하였다. 박막코팅을 할 경우에 점착성이 특히 크게 줄어들었으며, 결과적으로 실험실 환경에서의 오염 정도를 줄일 수 있었다. 산소를 포함한 플라스마를 이응할 경우 튜브의 외부뿐만 아니라 내부의 표면을 친수성으로 개질시킴으로써, 결과적으로 수력학적 초기 저항을 줄일 수 있었다. 대부분의 경우에 있어서, 이러한 표면개질은 실리콘 튜브의 기계적 물성에 아무런 악영향을 끼치지 않았으며 영율, 인장강도, 인장율 등의 물성은 오히려 향상되었다.

  • In this study, hydroforming characteristic of the double-layered tube was investigated in the hydroforming process. The double-layered tube can be made outer surface on the stainless steel by only one processing. The free bulging test was performed to analysis optimized pressure and axial feeding amount of the double layered tubes. And the experimental results between stainless/carbon and carbon/carbon double-layered tube were compared with the forming data. Moreover analysis model that can be hydroformability and predictable forming pressure of double-layered tube was presented.

공기 지중간 직접열교환시스템의 열성능 해석 (Analysis of the thermal performances of air-earth direct heat exchanger)

  • This study is focused on the development and selection of optimal cool tube system to maximize its thermal performance. Cool tube is devised to reduce the heating and cooling load of building by preheating or refreshing of intake air. Finite volume method was adopted to solve the conduction problem between the cool tube and earth. We examine the cool tube system for two operating periods, a short term(12 hours) and a long term(3 months). The results of short term operations reveal that condensation significantly influences and raises the exit air temperature. For long term operations, optimum conditions of cool tube system are obtained with variations of flow-rate, depth, length and diameter of cool tube.

  • The purpose of the present study is to measure the viscosity of liquid in the capillary tube viscometer using the unsteady flow concept. The capillary tube viscometer is consisted of a small cylindrical reservoir, capillary tubes, and the mass flow rate measuring system interfaced with computer. Two capillary tubes with 1.152 and 3.002 mm I.D. are used to determine the diameter effects on the viscosity measurements. The instantaneous shear rate and gravitational driving force in the capillary tube are determined by measuring the mass flow rate through the capillary tube instantaneously. The measured viscosities of water and aqueous Separan solution are in good agreement with the reported experimental data.

  • A new type baghouse with tangential inlet and inner tube was developed and it's performances were evaluated. Experiments with variable shapes of inner tube were performed to suggest an optimum shape of inner tube which might decrease the dust loading onto bag filter surface and the amount of reentrained particles by internal gas flow. The dust loading was lower when inner tubes parallel to outer casing exist. When an inner tube covering around the lower portion of bag filters was used, the dust particles detached from the filter surface by cleaning process were reentraind by internal recirculating gas flow.

튜브 설치 방향이 풀비등 열전달에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Tube Orientation on Pool Boiling Heat Transfer)

  • In order to clarify the effect of tube orientation on pool boiling heat transfer, the experiments were carried out for the saturated pool boiling of water at atmospheric pressure. Through the tests a series of data sets for heat flux versus wall superheat has been obtained using various combinations of tube diameters (D=9.7 $\~$25.4mm), surface roughness ($\varepsilon$=15.1$\~$60.9nm), and tube orientations (horizontal and vertical). ηei experimental results show that the slope of heat flux versus wall superheat becomes smaller than that of the horizontal tube as the surface roughness decreases from $\varepsilon$=60.9 to $\varepsilon$=15.1nm. Such that, two curves for the horizontal and vertical tubes cross each other in accordance with surface roughness and the crossing point can be suggested as q" = ‘-4.768+1.334$\varepsilon$+0.055${\varepsilon}^2$.
