  • This study was designed to testify the possibility and devise the method to manipulate the 3D body scan data to produce rounded-belt pattern adaptable to hip-type variation of women in their 20's. The results of this research were as follows : Firstly, based on drop-value distribution of hip and waist girth, 151 subjects were classified into three hip-types; Type 1 (15.23%) was 'cylinder type', showing lowest drop-value, Type 2 (69.54%) was 'average type' and Type3 (15.23%) was 'hourglass type' showing highest drop-value. Secondly, using CAD program, design lines for round shape belt were set on the surface of 3D scan data of representative subject of each type. And divided 3D surfaces were flattened onto the plane by the internal tools of CAD program. The measure, 'lifting value of round belt pattern', implying the level of curve ratio of pattern was higher in back than front. This result might be linked to the fact that the hip part is more protruded than the abdomen part. And the measures also showed highest values in Type 3(hourglass type) and lowest in Type 1(cylinder type), meaning that the pattern of Type 3 showed more rounded shape than that of Type 1. This finding implied that round belt for body type having high drop-value should be shaped more curved. Thirdly, difference ratios of outline length and area between 3D curves(body surface) and 2D plane(pattern) were 4.5% and 1.3%, respectively. This result demonstrated and solidified the feasibility of designing digital garment pattern from 3D body scan data.

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the proper concentration of D-xylose which is expected to reduce the GI (Glycemic index) value of sucrose in the human body. When subjects took a sucrose mixture containing 5% and 10% D-xylose, the blood glucose levels were lowered by approximately 27.5% and 25.9%, respectively, compared to those of sucrose. The GI values of sucrose mixtures containing 5% and 10% D-xylose were 49.3 and 50.4, respectively. The reduction in GI value was not dependent on the D-xylose concentration, as the GI value of sucrose mixture containing 5% D-xylose (XyloSugar) was similar to that of sucrose mixture containing 10% D-xylose (XyloSugar10). D-xylose is not only more expensive but also less sweet than sucrose. So, low concentration of D-xylose has the advantage in the price and taste. It was determined that the proper concentration of D-xylose expected to reduce GI value of sucrose was 5% (w/w).

  • The purpose of this paper is to recognize the usefulness of the Phantom produced with 3D printing technology by reproducing the original phantom with 3D printing technology. Using CT, we obtained information from the original phantom. The acquired file was printed by the SLA method of ABS materials. For inspection, SPECT/CT was used to obtain images. We filled the both Phantom with a solution mixed with 99mTcO4 1 mCi in 1 liter of water and acq uired images in accordance with the standard protocol. Using Image J, the SNR for each slice of the image was obtained. As a reference images, AC images were used. For the analysis of acquired images, ROI was set in the White mater and Gray mater sections of each image, and the average Intensity Value within the ROI were compared. According to the results of this study, 3D printed phantom's SNR is about 0.1 higher than the conventional phantom. And the ratio of Intensity Value was shown in the original 1 : 3.4, and the printed phantom was shown to be 1 : 3.2. Therefore, if Calibration Value is applied, It is assumed that it can be used as an alternative to the original.

  • With the development of information and communication technology and spread of smart devices, online information exchange has become a daily routine. Accordingly, the management and utilization of online word of mouth (WOM) has become an important issue for companies. Numerous studies have examined the impact of online WOM on firm performance. This study analyzes the impact of negative word of mouth (NWOM) on firm value, considering the influence of corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity and research and development (R&D) investment. Using a hierarchical linear model, we find that 1) NWOM has a negative impact on firm value, 2) CSR activities do not significantly influence this impact, and 3) R&D investment reduces this negative impact. This study contributes by demonstrating the effect of NWOM on firm value, examining the influence of CSR activities and R&D investment on the impact of NWOM, and confirming that the hierarchical linear model can be applied effectively to panel data in empirical studies. As a practical implication, companies must prevent and manage NWOM, whose impact, when caused by an unavoidable incident, can be alleviated by proactively announcing that the company is striving for competitiveness, for instance, by investing in R&D.

  • This study looked at what the perceived recognition and user characteristics of 3D printers have to do with perceived value and intention of continuing use. The data collection was conducted by 300 people, including employees who lived in Korea and used 3D printers. Research has shown that firstly, perceptual perception affects perceived values and intended use. Second, user characteristics have been shown to affect perceived value and intended use. Third, it appears to have a positive effect on perceived values and the intention of continuous use. Therefore, by fully recognizing the usefulness and ease of 3D printers to consumers, and by making them aware of the convenience and reliability of consumers, it will be effective if a strategy is established that has put a lot of interest and effort into making 3D printers more popular and active by enhancing consumers' intention to continuously use 3D printers.

  • The purpose of this study was to create a phantom with a HU value similar to that of the human Femur using a 3D printer to replace the existing pig bone. A total of 372 people were analyzed to determine the HU value of human Femur. Using a 3D printer, a human bone model phantom was fabricated using PLA-Cu 20% and subjected to CT examination. Pig bones were 6 months old pigs, and bones 2 days after slaughter were used. As a result of the examination, the 3D printing phantom made with 80% of the internal filling showed a similar value to all data of the human body (p<0.05), and there was a difference from the pig bone (p>0.05). In addition, in the case of the HU value of Femur by age group, it was confirmed that the value of HU decreased as the age group increased (p<0.05). 3D printing and HU values confirmed a weak negative correlation with respect to the stacking height, but confirmed a strong positive correlation (R2 = 0.996) with 182.13±1.290 in the inner filling (p<0.05). In conclusion, it was confirmed that the human body model phantom using 3D printing can exhibit a similar level of HU value to the human body compared to the existing pig bone phantom, and this study will provide basic data for the production of a human body model phantom using a 3D printer.

  • In this paper, we propose an optimal thresholding method for the voxel coloring in the reconstruction of a 3D shape. Our purposed method is a new approach to resolve the trade-off error of the threshold value on determining the photo-consistency in the conventional method. Optimal thresholding value is decided to compare the surface voxel of photo-consistency with inside voxel on the optic ray of the center camera. As iterating the process of the voxels, the threshold value is approached to the optimal value for the individual surface voxel. And also, graph cut method is reduced to the surface noise on eliminating neighboring voxel. To verify the proposed algorithm, we simulated in the virtual and real environment. It is advantaged to speed up and accuracy of a 3D face reconstruction by applying the methods of optimal threshold and graph cut as compare with conventional algorithms.

  • Many researchers have studied the eutectic solidification of CV Graphite Cast Iron qualitatively. However quantative studies have not been done. The type of eutectic solidification of CV Graphite Cast Iron treated with CG Alloy (Fe-Si-Mg-5Ti-Ca-Ce) was studied quantitatively through M.D.E. value (Mushy Degree of Eutectic Solidification) = $t_2/t_1)$, where $t_1$ is the difference of the eutectic solidification starting time between surface and center part of the casting sample, and $t_2$ is the time of eutectic solidification of the center part. Following results were obtained. (1) The M.D.E. value of CV graphite cast iron lies between that of spheroidal graphite and that of flake graphite cast iron but is closer to that of Flake graphite cast iron. (2) The M.D.E. value of CV graphite cast iron depends upon CV ratio. (3) The time required for eutectic solidification increases as graphite form is changed from Flake, CV. to spheroidal graphite. (4) The M.D.E. value increases as cooling rate increases.
