  • Cyclic voltammetry has been applied in the basic studies for the treatment and recovery of heavy metal component contained in wastewater by electrochemical reduction. The electrochemical behaviors of zinc ion for zinc metal electrode and carbon elec-trode were characterized by voltammograms and it was showed that zinc ions were reduced to metallic form below -0.76 V vs SHE. The change in the features of crystalline form of metallic zinc upon oxidation and reduction reaction was observed by X-ray diffraction method and the Am analysis verified that zinc ions were reduced to metal on copper plate. The results of this study were regarded to be important and meaningful in the treatment of heavy metal containing wastewater and, as a result, in the obtainment of metallic product by electrochemical method.

  • Lead-acid battery is used widely as a power source at a automobile, industrial machines, folk lifts, U.P.S. etc. Lead-acid battery is cheaper than arty other secondary battery, but this battery has many disadvantages such as heavy, low energy density, environment problem etc. In this article, we introduce cyclic voltammetry methods to investigate corrosion behaviour of positive grids of Pb-Ca alleys.

  • The techniques of pulse and cyclic voltammetry were applied to the determination of (E$_{1}$2)$_2$-(E$_{1}$2)$_1$ for two-step electrochemical charge transfers. In addition, a simple amplitude was derived far the dependence of the differential pulse response on (E$_{l}$ 2/)$_1$ and (E$_{1}$2/)$_2$. and the use of peak to peak separation in cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse methods was evaluated. A comparison of the comproportionation constants(Ke) from differential pulse and cyclic voltammetry methods exhibited a good agreement within 5%.

  • In this paper, a DNA chip with a microelectrode array was fabricated using microfabrication technology. Several probe DNAs consisting of mercaptohexyl moiety at their 5 end were immobilized on the gold electrodes by DNA arrayer. Then target DNAs were hybridized and reacted with Hoechst 33258, which is a DNA minor groove binder and electrochemically active dye. Linear sweep voltammetry or cyclic voltammetry showed a difference between target DNA and control DNA in the anodic peak current values. It was derived from Hoechst 33258 concentrated at the electrode surface through association with formed hybrid. It suggested that this DNA chip could recognize the sequence specific genes.

  • Cyclic voltammetry (CV) is a powerful electrochemical measurement technique that can determine redoxable substances in a solution. The advantage of CV is that we can observe redox behavior over a wide potential range in a short time. Because of its practicality and versatility, CV is used not only in electrochemistry but also in various fields of chemistry, such as inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry. As technology advances and the popularity of CV grows, the need for trained electrochemists also increases. However, most students do not receive formal training in these technologies as part of their curriculum. There are few concise and accessible resources for learning CV. Therefore, this manuscript provides a brief introduction to cyclic voltammetry to aid readers in collecting and interpreting useful data from cyclic voltammograms.

  • The transport phenomena of electron and ion around the electrode have been analyzed, herein the computational program to simulate the electrochemical signal of cyclic voltammetry has been implemented. For the dominant mass-transfer system, the governing equation and its boundary conditions are confined to the semi-infinite diffusion model and the reversible reaction at the electrode. In order to obtain the numerical solutions of cyclic voltammetry, MATLAB was used for the explicit finite difference method. Experimental results from the cyclic voltammetry of electrochemical system(10 mM $K_3Fe(CN)_6$ and 0.1M KCl) upon the ITO glass substrate were compared with the numerical solutions. Present program explains the experimental results fairly well, where they approached the simulated ones closely with deceasing the scan rate. Furthermore, the effects of electrode area, electrochemical reaction constants and transfering coefficients in the cyclic voltammetry were discussed quantitatively.

  • The electrochemical investigation of N,N-bis (2,5-di-tert-butylphenyl)-3,4,9,10 perylenebis (dicarboximide) laser dye have been carried out using cyclic voltammetry and convolution - deconvolution voltammetry combined with digital simulation technique at a platinum electrode in 0.1 mol/L tetrabutyl ammonium perchlorate (TBAP) in solvent 1,2 dichloroethane ($CH_2Cl-CH_2Cl$). The investigated dye was reduced via consumption of two sequential electrons to form radical anion and dianion (EE mechanism). In switching the potential to positive scan, the compound was oxidized by loss of two electrons, which were followed by a fast aggregation process ($EC_1EC_2$ mechanism). The electrode reaction pathway and the chemical and electrochemical parameters of the investigated compound were determined using cyclic voltammetry and convolutive voltammetry. The extracted electrochemical parameters were verified and confirmed via digital simulation method.
