There are four main components of the CMP process: polishing pad, slurry, elastic supporter, and pad conditioner. The polishing pad is an essential component to the reproducibility of polishing uniformity in CMP process. However, the polishing pad in recently using metal CMP raised the several points of high cost caused by the increase of cycle time and the many usage of slurry. It is necessary to develop the novel polishing pad which would lead the cost reduction by the higher pad life-cycle, minimized cycle time and lower slurry usage. The characteristics of polishing pad were studied on the effects of different sets of the Polishing pad, which can be applied to metal chemical mechanical polishing process for global planarization of multilevel interconnection structure. The main purpose of this experiment is cost reduction by the increase of pad life-time, the decrease of cycle time and the lower usage of slurry through the specific hard porous structured pad design. It is confirmed that the novel polishing pad made the slurry usage decrease to 60% as well as the pad life-time increase twice with the 25% improvement of removal rate. The polishing time could be decreased and it also helped the cycle time to diminish. It can be expected that this results will help both the process throughput and the device yield to be improved.

This paper deals with the cycle time minimization problem that determines the productivity in printed circuit board (PCB) with n components using the m placement machines. This is known as production cycle time determination problem (PCTDP). The polynomial time algorithm to be obtain the optimal solution has been unknown yet, therefore this hard problem classified by NP-complete. This paper gets the initial assignment result with the machine has minimum unit placement time per each component firstly. Then, the balancing process with reallocation from overhead machine to underhead machine. Finally, we perform the swap optimization and get the optimal solution of cycle time $T^*$ within O(mn) computational complexity. For experimental data, the proposed algorithm can be obtain the same result as integer programming+branch-and-bound (IP+B&B) and B&B.
Duty cycle is determined as the ratio of operating time to total time. Duty cycle in reliability prediction is one of the significant factors to be considered. In duty cycle application, non-operating time failure rate has been easily ignored even though the failure rate in non-operating period has not been proved to be small enough. Ignorance of non-operating time failure rate can result in over-estimated system reliability calculation. Furthermore, utilization of duty cycle in reliability prediction has not been evaluated in its effectiveness. In order to address these problems, two reliability models, such as MIL-HDBK-217F and RIAC-HDBK-217Plus, were used to analyze non-operating time failure rate. This research has proved that applying duty cycle in 217F model is not reasonable by the quantitative comparison and analysis.

In this paper, we take into consideration the optimal cycle time in a kanban system. Even though there are many studios in the literature published in the past. It is rare to fine a paper dealing with kanban cycle time. We consider manufacturing structure configured in the real field and suggest kanban cycle time for the cases of linear, tree assembled, distributed, general and mixed structures. Also we give numerical example for each structure.

Most line balancing technique widely used in manufacturing industry is done by balancing to a cycle or operator, time determined to provide the exact number of required units per day. No thought is given to benefit foregone by making slight changes to cycle time to achieve better distribution of the work among operators. This study provides a method to minimize balance delay by the choice of cycle time.

The measurement method is proposed for performance-evaluation of bus system in this paper. The cycle tin in manufacturing system that sensor and actuator play on the role is important factor for performance-evaluation. In order to measure cycle time, proposed method is based on simple algorithm. But it must consider delay elements in PLC and it's peripheral. The test of the cycle time is divided into the best case and the worst case and parameters are set corresponding to two cases for the improvement of measurement result It is shown that the proposed method is efficient by measuring the cycle time of the fieldbus basing on the mathematics model. As a result, due to simplicity and convenience of proposed method, the engineering cost and time demanding for test of cycling time can much reduce.
The common cycle time for the linded signals is usually determined for the critical intersecion, just because the cpacity of a signalized intersection depends on the cycle time. This may not be optimal since the interactions between the flow and the spatial structure of the route or the area are disregarded in this case. It is common to separate the total delay incurred at signals into two parts, a deterministic or uniform delay and a stochastic or random delay. The deterministic delays and the stochastic delays on the artery particularly related to signal cycle time. For this purpose a microscopic simulation technique is used to evaluate deterministic delays, and a macroscopic simulation technique based on the principles of Markov chains is used to evaluate stochastic delays with over flow queue. As a result of investigating the relations between deterministic delays and cycle time in the various circumstances of spacing of signals and traffic volume. As for stochastic delays the resalts of comparisons of the macroscopic simulation and Newell's approximation with the microscopic simulation indicate that the former is valid for the degree of saturation less than 0.95 and the latter is for that above 0.95. Newell's argument that the total stochastic delay on an arterial is dominated by that at or caused by critical intersection is certified by the simulation experiments. The comprehensive analyses of the values of optimal cycle time with various conditions lead to a model. The cycle time determined by this model shows to be approximately 70% of that calculated by Webster's.
This study was conducted to analyze on the operational time and productivities of logging operations in whole-tree logging operation system by tower-yarder and swing-yarder, and in cut-to-length logging operation system by excavator with grapple in order to establish the efficient logging operation system and to spread logging operation technique. In the analysis of operational time, in case of whole-tree logging operation system, the felling time was 46.6 sec/cycle by chain saw, the yarding time was 480.6 sec/cycle by tower-yarder, the yarding time was 287.4 sec/cycle by swing-yarder and the bucking time was 155.14 sec/cycle by chain saw. In case of the cut-to-length logging operation system, the felling and bucking time was 225.65 sec/cycle by chain saw, the cut-to-length extraction time was 4,972 sec/cycle by excavator with grapple, the branches and leaves extraction time was 3,143 sec/cycle by excavator with grapple. The forwarding time was 4,688 sec/cycle by wheel type mini-forwarder, the forwarding time was 2,118 sec/cycle by excavator with grapple and small forwarding vehicle. In the analysis of operational productivities, in case of whole-tree logging operation system, the average felling performance was $57.89m^3/day$ by chain saw, the average yarding performance was $20.3m^3/day$ by tower-yarder, $31.55m^3/day$ by swing-yarder respectively, the average bucking performance was $20.3m^3/day$ by chain saw. In case of the cut-to-length logging operation system, the average felling and bucking performance was $11.96m^3/day$ by chain saw, the average cut-to-length extraction performance was $34.75m^3/day$ by excavator with grapple, the average branches and leaves extraction performance was $37.66m^3/day$ by excavator with grapple, the average length of operation road construction was 73.8 m/day by excavator with grapple. The average forwarding performance by wheel type mini-forwarder and the average forwarding performance by excavator with grapple and small forwarding vehicle was $15.73m^3/day$ and $65.03m^3/day$, respectively.
There are no formal decision tools or guidelines to assist owners and contractors in choosing delivery systems and project strategies that would allow for a radical reduction in project cycle time - from the preplanning phase through project start up. Therefore, it is important to identify the state-of-practice and the state-of-art on methods of achieving radical reduction defined as a reduction of 25% or more in overall project cycle time. A comprehensive literature review, three questionnaire surveys, and the seven case studies were conducted and the data obtained from them were analyzed to establish the state-of-practice and state-of-art for project cycle time reduction techniques.
High temperature low cycle fatigue crack growth behavior is investigated over a range of two temperatures and various frequencies in SUS 304 stainless steel. It is found that low frequency and temperature can enhance time-dependent crack growth. With high temperature, low frequency and long crack length, ${\Delta}J_c/{\Delta}J_ f$, the ratio of creep J integral range to fatigue J integral range is increased and time-dependent crack growth is accelerated. Interaction between ${\Delta}J_f$ and ${\Delta}J_c$ is occured at high frequency and low temparature and ${\Delta}J_c$, creep J integral range is fracture mechanical parameter on transition from cycle-dependent to time dependent crack growth in creep temperature region.
