최근 IT기술의 발전, 대학 교육의 글로벌화 등의 추세는 대학의 이러닝(e-learning) 형태의 교육을 촉진하고 있다. 국내향후 연구에서는 17개의 사이버대학은 이러닝 형태의 교육을 제공하고 있는데, 최근 재학생 수가 크게 증가하고 있다. 이에 사이버대학들은 우수한 강의 제공을 위해 학생-교수간의 다양한 상호작용에 대해서 연구하고 있다. 본 연구는 사이버대학의 LMS(Learning Management System)에 온라인 채팅 서비스를 최초로 도입하여, 시스템을 구축하였다. 본 연구에서는 온라인 채팅과 학습만족과의 관계에 대해서 검증하고, 강의질 개선을 위한 전략을 도출하고자 한다.

With the popularity of smart phones for mobile learning on the rise, cyber universities in Korea are trying to build a reliable mobile campus infrastructure. Such advances in smart phone technologies have made it increasingly easy for users to stay connected and this heightened interaction through smart phones has educational potential for collaborative learning. Thus, to fulfill its educational potential and ultimately provide optimal learning environments on the smart phones, this study has developed a discussion-based interface prototype for collaborative learning. The proposed interface design was evaluated through cognitive walkthrough of the expert reviewers and its usability improvements were also offered.

This study is conducted with the aim of redefining the university-based lifelong education support system for developmental disabled. The research method consisted of procedures in parallel with literature analysis and expert meetings. As for the contents of the study, a composition system that recognized the problems and solutions of lifelong education for the developmental disabled based on universities was primarily presented. Through this, it was suggested that universities can form an academic foundation for the establishment of a lifelong education support system for the developmental disabled along with the convergence field. In addition, a structural model related to this was presented along with the aspect that universities could develop a curriculum for lifelong education for the developmental disabled according to the school foundation. Also, a composition system was suggested that universities can develop lifelong education curriculum for people with developmental disabilities to lead the cooperation of local related organizations such as welfare centers for the disabled and lifelong education centers for the developmentally disabled. As a result of the study, it was analyzed that leadership in the university-based lifelong education support system for developmental disabled can contribute to fostering professional manpower qualifications and establishing cooperation with local related organizations in an integrated composition system.

The damage caused by information spill, forgery, falsification, and deletion by cyber infringement in educational institutions and universities is very large. In this study, we analyzed the types, causes, and problems of cyber infringement in educational administrative institutions and universities. As a result, administrative, physical and technical information protection activities were weak. In this paper, we propose a security enhancement method for each domain by dividing them into Internet zone, network-neutral zone (DMZ: Demilitarized Zone), general server zone, internal server zone (Server Farm), and user zone so that these vulnerabilities can be easily identified, supplemented or security enhanced. In addition, we have proposed a method to apply security information system architecture and information protection technology correctly for educational administration institutions and universities. This study is meaningful not to provide conceptual guidance but to suggest specific action and procedure oriented security management plan.

E-learning in Korea supports different educational needs of diverse learners. E-learning became one of the major source of educational services for schools, higher education, lifelong learning, and for special education. Many e-learning contents offered by cyber universities use HTML, CSS, and Flash, and these are known to have limitations on accessibilities. People with disabilities or aged have problems accessing such contents. The purpose of this study is to evaluate accessibility of Flash e-learning contents offered by 9 cyber universities. AccChecker is used to assess accessibility of the contents. The result shows many errors and warning with Text Equivalents, Keyboard Navigation, Properties, Depth of Tree, and Structures that restrict access. In order to improve the quality and expansion of quality e-learning contents, we need aggressive measures to obtain accessibility of contents, and these should be designed at the planning phase rather than adjusted during the development stage. Furthermore, it is vital to train instructional designers, developers and the CEOs to realize the importance of accessibility and learn appropriate skills to increase accessibilities of e-learning contents.

The purpose of this study is to examine the variables related to the students' e-learning participation that have an effect on learning achievement in e-learning environment of cyber universities. Based on the related research, the followings are derive. First, students' attendance and participation in discussion showed higher correlation with the learning achievement than other participation variables. However, the total studying time in online classes showed lower correlation with the learning achievement. Second, the variables that have an effect on the learning achievement were in the order of students' attendance, participation in discussion, access frequency to online classes, learning progress and number of data uploads. Third, by the learners' background, the difference among the variables that have an effect on learning achievement were found. Based on the results above, this study suggests considerations about participation variables to enhance the learning achievement in cyber universities.

This study examined the effects of Cyber University students' educational participatory motivation and life satisfaction on their satisfaction with their major. The subjects were 937 adult learners at one of the Cyber Universities in Seoul, Korea, who were over 20 years of age. The results were as follows. First, the main motivation of the Cyber University students was goal-oriented, followed by learning-oriented motivation and activity-oriented motivation. Second, there were significant differences in their educational participatory motivation, life satisfaction and major satisfaction according to their sex, age, occupation, marriage and major. Third, their life satisfaction and three types of educational participatory motivation had positive effects on the satisfaction with their major in the order of life satisfaction, goal-oriented motivation, learning-oriented motivation and activity-oriented motivation. These findings suggest that adult learners' quality of life and motivation to learn are very important for increasing the degree of satisfaction with their major.

The need for education that meets the strengths and weaknesses of cyber education is raised because there is difference in the characteristics of students and the needs for education between the cyber university, where the education without constraints of time and space is made, and the existing offline universities. Also, it is expected that the satisfaction of students will be greater if the education is provided based on the analysis of the characteristics of students and their demands for education. There are many students already engaged in construction industry. The students entering the construction engineering department in cyber university are Interested in acquiring the theoretical foundation and professional construction knowledge based on practical experience, professional licenses, and career management. Also, they are interested in further studies at graduate school level and add to academic depth. This study suggests the necessity of establishment of construction education system Including objectives and curriculum in cyber university based on the analysis on the characteristics of students and educational needs.

In this paper, we propose a Leveled Micro-Degree Job Competency Certification Model that considers the level of the job based on the job defined in the NCS. There is a mismatch of manpower due to the problem of university education that cannot keep up with the rapidly changing technological environment caused by the 4th Industrial Revolution. The Nano-Degree and Micro-Degree systems designed to solve this problem are used for job competency certification of cyber security personnel. NCS sub-categorized job field is defined as Micro-Degree and detailed job by ability unit is defined as Nano-Degree, the level of the ability unit defined by level is equally applied to the Micro-Degree. And it is a system that certifies the job competency corresponding to the degree-based university academic background. By applying this system to the curriculum of Cyber Security School, Yeungnam University College, we proposed a method to configure the Nano-Degree course based on NCS duties. The method proposed in this paper can be used as a method for verifying job competency of Nano-Degree and Micro-Degree, which are recently introduced by many universities.

This study aims to analyze the causal relationship among teaching, cognitive, social presence and the learning outcome. It also provides the base data on the development of cyber education and its management strategies. During the first semester of 2009, 802 students at W cyber university completed surveys about their learning experience in teaching presence, cognitive presence, social presence, and learning outcome. The results indicated that there was a meaningful effect of teaching presence and cognitive presence on satisfaction, and that of cognitive presence on academic achievement. Based on these results, this study suggests instructional design methods and management strategies to improve the quality of learning in cyber universities.
