  • As modern society rapidly changes, the field of education has also developed speedily. Since Edunet system developed in 1996, many different systems are developing continuously such as Center for Teaching and Learning, cyber home learning systems, diagnosis prescribing systems, video systems, teaching and counseling, and study management systems. However, the aforementioned systems have had not great response from the educational consumers due to a lack of interconnection. There are several reasons for it. One of the reasons is that program administrators did not carefully consider the continuity of each programs but established a brand new system whenever they need rather than predict or consider the future needs. The suitable system for smart education should be one big integrated system based on many different data analysis and processing. The system should also supply educational consumers various and useful information by adopting the idea of bigdata rather than a single sign on system connecting each independent system. The cloud computing system should be established as a system that can be managed not as simple compiled files and application programs but as various contents and DATA.

  • Since 2005, Cyber home learning systems(CHLS) have been run with the purpose of clearing up the regional disparity and reducing the private education cost. At this point, it is necessary to have the analysis on the satisfaction and effectiveness awareness of the CHLS. The goal of this paper is to suggest an evaluation model for satisfaction and pedagogical effectiveness of CHLS and to support the management of satisfaction and effectiveness awareness of the CHLS for the low-income bracket children. Our major contributions can be summarized as follows: First, we present an evaluation model of satisfaction and effectiveness awareness of the CHLS for the low-income bracket children. Second, we survey the satisfaction, effectiveness awareness and improvement facts from the students who divided according to their sex, residence area and classes and compare with suggesting evaluation models. This paper is to find the measurement of the satisfaction and effectiveness awareness of the CHLS for the low-income bracket children. Furthermore, we can use this model as a material to balance the education opportunity, which is the purpose of CHLS, and abolish the education differentials.

  • The information technology such as personal computers and the internet has become a critical factor in forming a common and popular culture over the last few decades. Those technical inventions have transformed the educational environment. In the past, the only way to get an education was for students to attend schools or private institutions by themselves. In contrast, the internet enables people to learn from a distance by using cyber-education courses and many e-learning contents are provided. Based on those infrastructures, students can be educated in a convenient and flexible way without totally depending on attending school. The purpose of this paper is to examine what the effect of cyber-learning at home is, and to analyse what the problem is? Lastly, this paper also suggests measures to alleviate the adverse effects of it.

  • The purposes of this study were to explore the gender differences in children's behavior problems, emotional regulation and social support, and to investigate differences between boys and girls in the interrelationships between these kinds of variables. The participants were 189 children in 4 to 6 grades and their teachers from one elementary school in Seoul. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression. The results were as follows: (1) There were statistically significant gender differences in the children's behavior problems, emotional regulation and social support. (2) Children's negative emotion explained boys and girls acting out problems and learning problems. Children's positive emotion regulation explained boys' and girls' shy-anxious and learning problems. Boys, who perceived less support from parents, displayed more acting out behavior, boys who perceived less supports from friends showed more shy-anxious behavior, and boys who perceived less supports from teachers exhibited more learning problems.

  • The present study explores how the stress of online learners is related to Korean cultural norms and social expectation and presents the criteria online education should aim at when designing instructional approaches. A sample of 176 students from a Korean online university participated in a study investigating the patterns in the academic and personal stressors they face. This study also examines stressor types in relation to sample characteristics, analyzed with a categorization method developed by extant researchers on the stress faced by U.S. college students. Unlike the findings of previous studies on college student stress, this study's results reveal that nontraditional Korean online students were faced with (1) taking on the multiple roles at work and home prescribed by cultural and social norms, and (2) challenges in regulating study habits and the learning environment as adult learners. The relevant implications for the design of online learning are discussed.

  • The goal of cyber teaching is to reduce the cost of private lessons, dissipate the educational disparity amongst regions, make classes apt to the given level of every group of students, make up for systematic defects of the public education, and ultimately strengthen its role. This study intends to analyze the capabilities of cyber teachers and clarify their qualifications, as the whole new e-Learning system is about to take root. In this study, the activities of cyber teachers are analyzed and some standards of applicability of cyber teachers, or the so-called ISSCT, are presented. Firstly, the activities are divided into teaching, counselling, process management, development of professionality. Based upon these four activities, nine tasks have been formed and the structure of 22 sub-tasks has been completed. This is the way the standards of applicability of cyber teachers are established in consideration with their activities. Secondly, the standards of information capability of cyber teachers have 53 elements in total, and the aforementioned ISSCT are presented in relation to the ISST, based upon the standards of information capability of cyber teachers.

  • This study attempts to develop e-learning contents for the "fashion information analysis," which should be performed in combination of theory and practice in fashion education, in a recent Web-based education environment. The e-learning contents are developed by using the three steps of analysis, design and development. In order to analyze the requirements of curricula, the status and content of fashion information related curricular provided by general universities and cyber universities are analyzed, and then on the basis of this analysis the education objectives and detailed contents of e-learning contents are determined. Design and development of e-learning contents consist of the types, education menus and education form. The types of e-learning contents are developed into an education form combined with tutorial and practice/activity types. The education menus are comprised of syllabic, the profiles of professors and students, announcements, questions and answers regarding respect subjects, materials, and notes. Meanwhile, the education form consists of the following sections: "Before the Learning", "Learning", "Review Questions", "Final Review", "References", and "Practice", "Before the Learning" consists of two parts of a theory lecture that is composed of video clips and Power-Point presentations, and practice that consists of an audio(or video) lecture and illustration or Photoshop software execution window.

  • Learning Diagnosis & Prescription Service(LDPS) in Cyber Home Learning System is a educational service which provides customized learning contents based on student's academic level and individualized counseling and comments after diagnosing learner's study habits beyond the past e-Learning systems which offer the same contents to different students. For a national point of view, it is a crucial project in public education to achieve the goals of the next-generation e-Learning service by making a lot efforts both in time and money. However, those efforts has been made, not in terms of providing a better quality of service and a better user experience in a effective and enjoyable way, but in terms of developing the technology-driven system. Therefore, in this study, two types of usability evaluations has been conducted in order to enhance a user experience on the LDPS. One is the expert reviews by utilizing the usability evaluation tools (heuristics) which was focused on educational contexts developed by Suh Young-suhk(2007). The other is the user testing with students who have done think-aloud during the evaluation, remembering their retrospective experience with LDPS, and the interview with teachers & service operators were conducted. As the implications on the research, this is an effort to provide an user-friendly educational system for the students nationwide.
