  • We investigated the electrochemical properties of lithium/molybdenum sulfide(Li/MoS$_2$) using tetra (ethylene glycol) dimethyl ether(TEGDME) electrolyte. The Li/TEGDME/MoS$_2$ cell showed the first discharge capacity of 288mAhg$^{-1}$. From the XRD, SEM results of the MOS$_2$ electrode in various cut-off voltage during charge-discharge process, MoS$_2$ partly changed into Li$_2$S and Mo during discharge and Li$_2$S partly recovered into MOS$_2$ and Li during charge. Full charged MOS$_2$ electrode showed lump shape of big size, which might be related to agglomerate of MoS$_2$ particles. Therefore, the degradation might be related to decrease of active material for electrochemical reaction by agglomeration of MOS$_2$.

  • A cascade impactor is a multistage impaction device used to separate airborne particles into aerodynamic size classes. A micro-orifice impactor uses micro-orifice nozzles to extend the cut sizes of the lower stages to as small as 0.05 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in diameter without resorting to low pressures or creating excessive pressure drops across the impactor stages. In this work, the phenomenon of particle clogging in micro-orifice nozzles was experimentally investigated for a commercial micro-orifice uniform deposit impactor (MOUDI). It was observed, using an optical microscope, that the micro-orifice nozzles of the final stages were partially clogged due to particle deposition during the aerosol sampling. Therefore the pressure drops across the nozzles were higher than the nominal values given by the manufacturer. To examine the effect of particle clogging in micro-orifice nozzles, the particle collection efficiency of the MOUDI was evaluated using an electrical method for fine particles with diameters in the range of 0.1-0.6 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. The monodisperse liquid dioctyl sebacate (DOS) particles were used as test aerosols. A faraday cage was employed to measure the low-level current of the charged particles upstream and downstream of each stage. It was found that the collection efficiency curves shifted to correspond to smaller orifice sizes, and the 50-% cutoff sizes were much smaller than those given by the manufacturer for the three stages with nozzles less than 400 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in diameter.

  • Currently TMR feed produced in commercial plant is one of the major source to feed cattle for both beef and dairy farm. However, because of lack of cutting and mixing system for utilizing domestic produced firmly baled round roughage in commercial TMR plant, these commercial TMR feed can not satisfy to farmers both in quality and price points of view. In order to solve these problems, a farm group size TMR plant model was developed in this study. The model plant was consist of round bale receiving and cutting system, pneumatic conveying system for transfer the roughage which was cut at the cutter to TMR mixer through pneumatic conveyor, TMR mixer enable to soften the stiff rice strew and to mix with other ingredients, finished feed bin which can be transfer to either packing system or individual farm, packing system by tycon bag which contains 400 kg unit and bulk unloading system to individual farmer. Also, a simulation model ARENA was applied to the model system in order to evaluate and check the production rate in each unit process and operation rate of total system and to find out if there are any clogged unit system obstructing the smooth flow of the total process flow. Processing cycle for produce one batch of the model plant was less than 30 minutes. Thus, it will take less than four hours for producing 16 tons per day equivalent to 1,000 beef cattle's daily feed.

  • Meat becomes brown and rancid during storage in the refrigerator and display in the case. Color changes, metmyoglobin formation and lipid oxidation are the important problems in the transportation / distribution of meat and retail display. The freshness of meat is determined by the sense of vision and smell. Since conventional method determining lipid oxidation is time consuming and destructive (it needs to homogenize meat with reagents, filtrate, time for reaction and read optical density using spectroscopy), more rapid and nondestructive technical tools are desired. The objective of this work was to evaluate near-infrared spectroscopy as an analytical tool for determining meat color, metmyoglobin formation and lipid oxidation. in beef, pork and chicken. Semitendinosus and longissimus thoracis muscles from six beef steers, biceps femoris and longissimus thoracis muscles from twelve LWD crossbred pigs, and superficial pectoral muscles from twenty-four broilers were used. About a 5-cm diameter and 1-cm thick sample (20.0g) was cut from the muscle and placed on plastic foam, over-wrapped with PVC film, and displayed under flourescent lights at 4 degrees C. during 10 days for beef and pork or 4 days for chicken. The spectra was measured by NIR systems Model 5500 Spectrophotometer using fiber optic scan at range of 400 - 1100 nm. Data were recorded at 2 nm intervals and 10 scans / 10 sec were averaged for every sample. Data obtained were saved as log 1/Re, where Re is the reflectance energy, and then mathematically transformed to second derivatives to reduce effects of differences in particle size. $L^{*}$, $a^{*}$ and $b^{*}$, and metmyoglobin formation were determined by conventional spectrophotometer using the integrating sphere unit. 2-Thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) were measured for lipid oxidation. A multiple linear regression was used to find the equation which would best fit the data. The number of wavelengths used in the equation was selected based on the fewer number compared to the increasing multiple correlation and Decreasing standard error. (omitted)

  • The hierarchical routing could cause a lot of energy consumption for transferring data by assigning hierarchical routes although actual nodes could be located in physically near spots. Also, when Node Failure or Association Error occurs, the Hierarchical routing could waste more energy to deliver the control messages. This paper evaluate performance of SHP(Shortest Hop Routing) algorithm that suggests short-cut routing algorithm using NL(Neighbor List) and Redirect_ACK message to improve problem of hierarchical routing algorithm. We do a computer simulation by the size of network, deployment of sensor nodes, sink position and POS. As a result of simulation, SHP has better performance than Zigbee Hierarchical routing and HiLow.

  • This study was performed to analyze the wearing practice and the purchasing characteristics of jeans in order to offer basic data to produce superior jeans made of denim with small flexibility and to improve the wearing comfort. The questionnaire were 236 Korean women from the age of 10th to 50th. For data analysis, descriptive analysis and crosstabs were used. The results were as follows, in the purchasing characteristics, when the women of 10th to 30th decided to purchase jeans they considered fashion, design and price rather than wearing comfort. But the women of 40th to 50th considered that wearing comfort is the most important factor. The 10th is found the best preferred jean is wide straight style, the 20th is straight style, the 30th is boots cut style and the 40th to 50th is straight style. In wearing practice, there was a difference among age groups on the region that felt uncomfortable when wearing jeans. As the age increases, the abdomen size also increases. Most people answered that they mend jeans after purchase for length, without any relation with age. The reason why consumers prefer jeans with middle length between the crotch and waist and also purchase jeans with a short length is because they look refined and neat. This informs us that the short length between the crotch and waist does not match with ease and comfort, which are the images of jeans in the past. Recently premium jean brands are competing to show Low Rise Jeans, which seems like a Premium Jean=Low Rise Jean formula is created. Some manufacture companies are recklessly copying foreign designs that does not fit Korean's body shape. However, as mentioned in this study results, there is a clear difference between designs that they think consider as aesthetic and functional. Therefore, it is considered necessary for developing designs for jeans that can satisfy both aesthetic appreciation and functions for Korean consumer's body shape and each age group.

  • On the basis of the fact that the pycnidiospore of Botryosphaeria dothidea, the causal fungus of apple white rot is a typical water borne spore, a method for quantitative analysis of pycnidiospore dispersal from the warts produced on the diseased apple tree stem was developed. The warts on which cracks developed either on or around them were cut off at the base, and shaked in the water for 4hours at 2$0^{\circ}C$, in which condition the maximum number of spores were released. The volume of shaking solution was calculated as 1 ml per one wart. At the end of shaking, Trio, a household detergent was added to the shaking solution to the concentration of 0.1%, and shaked for additional 10 minutes at 35$^{\circ}C$ to take off the spores attached on the glass ware. One milliliter of the spore suspension thus prepared were passed through transparent membrane filter (pore size : 3.0 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$), and the spores attached on the filter were counted under a microscope ($\times$200) after staining them with lactophenol supplemented with aniline blue. The results thus obtained were statistically consistent when at least 30 warts were used simultaneously in single shaking. This method can be applicable in the elucidation of ecology of sporulation and spore dispersal, and also in the screening of the sporulation inhibitor which can be used in the control of the disease by reducing the inoculum density.

  • The purpose of this study was; (1) to examine ready-to-wear dresses to find the characteristics of labels and construction which existed at three different price levels and (2) to make the gathered information available to consumers, designers, manufacturers and the people who are concerned with ready-to-wear garments. A check sheet was made listing a wide variety of features which could cause garments to be different. For the statistical analysis. 87 dresses were used out of 116 dresses examined. Observation was made at the stores in Myung Dong, Suh-Dae Moon and No Ryang Jin in Seoul from February 16, 1978 to March 3, 1978. The findings are; 1. The average prices of high, medium and low priced levels were ${\\}54,728$, ${\\}41,448$ and ${\\}7,225$. The average price discrepancy between high and medium priced levels was ${\\}13,000$ and ${\\}34,194$ between medium and low priced levels. 2. Most of the dresses examined had labels in all three priced levels. The most informative labels were found on medium priced dresses and then high. The low priced dresses had no information which would be of help to the consumer in regard to care, size and Jiber content. 3. Most of the dresses examined were cut on lengthwise grain. The stitching of medium and high priced levels were satisfactory. The chief way of fastening threads at the end of stitching was by backtracking. $28\%$ of the low priced levels was found unappropriate in stitching number because it was too large to the fabric. Many dresses in low priced levels were not pressed well. The average hem width of low priced dresses were less than 3cm, the high 3-4cm and the medium 4-5cm. Hemming was done mostly by hand in high and medium and by machine in low priced dresses. The medium priced dresses used more linings than low and high priced dresses.

  • The doma (cutting board) is an essential kitchen utensil. The general doma used at present is not sultable for cutting kimchi-like juicy foods, because It is a nat flat structure. Kimchi juice contains vitamins, organle acids, and lactic acid bacteria, and inhibits Oxidation of flavor of kimchi. In addition, if the juice flows down on the doma during cutting the doma work-table and kimchi bottom is contaminated. In this studies a new type of doma for kimchi. was made in order to minimize the Juice Iou during cutting. This new one baa a two-dimensional function of low due to length slope face and slanted gutter of width. No this new type has been developed worldwide, as far as the present writer is aware. The new one has various effectivenesses: minimixing loss of kimchi juice and contamination of doma work-table and kitchen bottom by kimchi juice, saving water and time to water contaminated cutting board, work-table and diahtowel (hangju). preventing round from falling down frorr doma duing cutting, decreasing damage of cutting the user's finger, cutting by the fixed size and shape. Draining and drying is easy and it is convenient to cut all juicy food.

  • Ultrasonic testing method has been developed to evaluate flaw of adhesive layers in blast tube for the reliability of the rocket nozzle. The ultrasonic reflection from the interface between the steel sheet and the epoxy adhesive is measured with a high-frequency Pulse-echo setup in order to identify contact debonding and missing adhesive in epoxy layer between steel and FRP layers. The steel sheet is resonated by low-frequency ultrasound, and the gap size underneath the measuring location is estimated from the resonance responses. For practical application in industry an automated testing system has been developed where the proposed approach is implemented. The performance of the proposed approach has been verified by actual measurement of gap sizes from the cross-sections of cut specimens using an optical microscope.
