To develop a curriculum model of continuing education for academic librarians, we reviewed related previous studies and continuing education programs performed both in Korea and overseas. Then. a survey was done to the academic librarians sampled systematically to identify the subject need for education. Based on the analysis, 2 sets of comprehensive curriculum were devised for the middle managers and working librarians respectively. The curriculum for the middle managers is consisted of 27 courses in 9 subject fields. and the curriculum far the working librarians is consisted of 25 courses in 7 subject fields. We selected one highly demanding subject from each curriculum, and developed specific educational program models. 'Library marketing' for middle managers and 'building and management of digital information resources' for working librarians. Program models include educational goal, content, teaching/learning strategies. duration time, teaching methods/tools, and instructor qualifications in detail. Finally, recommendations are suggested for the promotion and settlement of the continuing education.

As EMTs (Emergency Medical Technician), they will be required to attend a certain number of hours of continuing education each year to maintain, update, and expand their knowledge and skills. Continuing Education courses must be designed to keep up with the rapid changes in medicine. But, there are no standard CE curricula including reasonable subject matters and contents in this country, This paper analyzed many different CE curricula in advanced countries and examined the survey for educational needs to develop a standard CE curriculum. The following alternative plans to improve was proposed : (a) The subject matters should be enlarged and the contents subdivided. (b) The reasonable school hours of each subject matter should be allocated. (c) The applicable curriculum to the field affairs should be designed. (d) The frequency of CE should increased to expand an educational chance. (e) The educational circumstances should be improved, the educational outcomes be evaluated and flowed back. On the basis of the above alternatives plans, this paper proposed a model for the standard CE curriculum.

The curriculum differentiation is supposed to maximize individual strength and possibilities of the students, and to maximize educational efficiency by differentiating the instructions according to students' abilities, aptitudes, needs and interests. The Ministry of Education has suggested a stepwise model for school mathematics. This model is named "Stepwise Curriculum Differentiation"(段階別 敎育課程 差別化). In this paper, we would like to make a specific proposal for the 7th curriculum. Our proposal reflects fully the guidelines of the Ministry of Education. It is also based on the national curriculum history up to the present time. It could be used as a reference for the continuing work of curriculum reformation. We suggest dividing the contents of mathematics for 1-10th graders into about 15 steps, to use the step-based textbooks instead of the grade-based ones, and to prepare evaluation standards for each step. We also suggest that the classes for grades 11-12 be organized according to their optional courses and/or their steps.
