Analysis of IEC 61727 Photovoltaic (PV) systems Characteristics of the utility interface

  • This paper describes IEC 61727 standard of Photovoltaic (PV) systems -Characteristics of the utility interface. IEC 61727 standard tests include utility compatibility and personnel safety and equipment protection of PV inverter performance functions. Especially utility compatibility part includes test items of 1) voltage, current and frequency, 2) normal voltage operating range, 3) flicker, 4) DC injection, 5) normal frequency operating range, 6) harmonics and 7) waveform distortion, 8) power factor of PV inverter. Also personnel safety and equipment protection part includes test items 1)loss of utility voltage, 2)over/under voltage and frequency, 3)Islanding protection, 4)response to utility recovery, 5)earthing, 6)short circuit protection, 7)Isolation and switching of PV inverter. In this paper, each item of IEC 61727 standard test is studied and analyzed and finally full tested by PV inverter performance function.

  • By having the proposed circuit using a smaller one with a small reactor, the output voltage is boosted-up and improves the input of the current waveform. Therefore, we are able to follow the harmonics guidelines Greater power and efficiency is obtained from the proposed circuit. This also reduces some switching loss and holds the over-shooting by using the inverter of eliminated dead-time HPWM which is a non-linear impedance of the circuit to make up the diodes, the capacitance, and the reactor. We compared the conventional PWM inverter and proposed HPWM inverter.

  • A new automatic cardiac output control algorithm for the motor-driven electromechanical total artificial heart(TAH) was developed based on the motor current waveform analysis without using any extra transducer. The basic control requirements of artificial heart can be described in terms of three features : preload sensitivity, afterload insensitivity, and balanced ventricular outputs. In the previous studies, many transducers were utilized to obtain informations of hemodynamic states for the automatic cardiac output control, But such automatic control systems with sensors have had reliability problems. We proposed a new sensorless automatic cardiac output control algorithm providing adequate cardiac output to the time-varying physiological demand without causing right atrial collapse, which is one of the critical problem in an active-filling type device. In-vitro tests were performed on a mock circulation system to evaluate the performance of the developed algorithm and the results show that the new algorithm satisfied the basic control requirements on the cardiac output response and the possibility of application of the developed algorithm to in vivo experiments.

  • Every 3000 hour an aircraft is stricken by a lightning. Also the lightning damage to the aircraft during flight are continually occurred due to extreme weather phenomena such as global warming. Under the airworthiness standards, the aircraft must be designed to protect lightning. To show compliance for lightning, the test should be conducted by the actual lightning current and voltage waveform for the actual aircraft or parts. After test, structure damage is detected via visual inspection or NDI. Structure substantiation for damage is to show retaining limit or near limit load capability. This is conducted by test or analysis based on test. Thus, the aircraft should retain structural strength to land safely, even though the damage of aircraft fuselage from Lightning strike are occurred.

  • This paper deals with the prediction of armature reaction field produced by 3-phase stator windings whose current waveform contains significant harmonics. On the basis of 2-d analytical technics, we derived governing equation and predicted magnetic field distribution according to rotor position. The results of predictions from the analysis are compared with corresponding FE (finite element) analyses.

  • Most of LV customer has been composed the 3-phase four wire system distribution system which is supplying simultaneously at the 1-phase & 3-phase load. In this system, the composition of the power apparatus system is simple rather than conventional separation mode of the 1-phase & 3-phase, But due to uneven load unbalance or unclean power quality, various kinds such as derating or power losses become an issue. In this paper, we measured and analyzed voltage and current waveform in the field, compared with internationally allowable voltage unbalance limits.

  • This paper describes a new dc-ac inverter system, which for achieving sinusoidal ac waveform make use of parallel loaded frequency resonant inverter consisting of full bridge. Each one of the pair of switches in the inverter is driven to synchronous output frequency and the other is driven to PWM signal with resonant frequency proportional to magnitude of sine wave. Since current through switches is always zero at its turn-on in proposed inverter, low stress and low switching loss is achieved. The theoretical analysis is proved through the experimental test.

  • Mallory의 회로를 변형하여 변압기를 사용하지 않은 새로운 배전압회로를 구성하였고 직류출력전압의 regulation에 있어서 Mallory의 회로보다 훨씬 우수한 결과를 얻었다. 또 출력파형을 해석하고, 직류출력전압과 출력전류와의 관계를 간결한 반사식으로서 표현하였고 이 관계식이 실험결과와 잘 부합되어 있음을 보였다. In this paper, a new transless voltage doubler circuit which is a modification of Mallory circuit is proposed, Regulation characteristics of the new circuit is much superior to that of Mallory's. The analysis of output waveform is applied, an4 a simple and practical relation between dc output voltage and dc output current is derived. It is shown that this formula is coincide with the experimental results.

  • In this paper study on a toroidal switched reluctance motor(TSRM) is described. The structure of the TSRM is different from that of a conventional SRM The main windings of the TSRM are wound around york of the stator while those of the conventional SRM are wound around its stator poses. Therefore the TSRM has many advantages and drive system, winding connection, inductance, drive method, torque, current waveform of the TSRM are different from those of the conventional SRM In this paper, the TSRM is analysed by simulation and experiment.
