  • PSPICE modeling of a commercial LED driver IC (TOP245P) and PC817A optocoupler is proposed for the switch-mode power supply (SMPS) (applicable to LED driver) design and simulation. An analog behavioral model of the TOP245P IC including the shunt regulator, under-voltage(UV) detection, over-voltage(OV) shut-down and SR flip-flop is developed by using PSPICE. The empirical equation of PC817A current transfer ratio (CTR) is fitted from the datasheet of PC817A. Two types of SMPSs are simulated with the averaged-model and switching-model. The simulation results by the proposed PSPICE models are in good agreement with those in the data sheet and an experimental data.

  • Combination the several type of single phase power conversion utilized simply topology are proposed in this paper. Totally four kind of converter are investigated, they are Boost AC/AC Converter, Buck AC/AC Converter, Boost AC/DC Converter, and Buck DC/AC Converter. Two types action mode are presented to determine the functional of circuit. First is AC chopper action mode, representation of the AC/AC converter. AC chopper action mode offered the sinusoidal current waveform, better power factor, faster dynamics, and smaller input/output filter. They present high robustness, offer safe commutation and have high efficiency. The second is full bridge action mode, determined the transformation AC to DC power and otherwise. Four switching devices and one magnetic contactor will establish the mode operation of circuit and manage the flow of power proceed in proper. The correction and advance of the kind of converter are verified by simulation.

  • Recently international regulations governing the amount of harmonic currents(e.g IEC 61000-3-2) became mandatory and active Power factor correction (PFC) pre-regulator circuit became inevitable for the AC/DC converters. Among these topologies, the boost topology represents an optimum solution for a PFC pre-regulation in a high power application. This paper propose improved ZVT(Zero Voltage Transition) AC/DC PFC Boost using the average current control employing a soft-switching technique of the auxiliary switch with a minimum number of components. The conventional ZVT PFC Boost Converter has a disadvantage that the auxiliary switch turns off hard, which influences the overall efficiency and the EMI problem. In this paper, an improved ZVT PFC Boost converter using active snubber is proposed to minimize the switching loss of the auxiliary. The prototype of 100kHz, 640W system was implemented to show the improved performance.

  • How the organ size is adjusted to the proper size during development and how organs know that they reach the original size during regeneration remain long-standing questions. Based on studies using multiple model organisms and approaches for over 20 years, a consensus has been established that the Hippo pathway plays crucial roles in controlling organ size and maintaining tissue homeostasis. Given the significance of these processes, the dysregulation of the Hippo pathway has also implicated various diseases, such as tissue degeneration and cancer. By regulating the downstream transcriptional coactivators YAP and TAZ, the Hippo pathway coordinates cell proliferation and apoptosis in response to a variety of signals including cell contact inhibition, polarity, mechanical sensation and soluble factors. Since the core components and their functions of the Hippo pathway are evolutionarily conserved, this pathway serves as a global regulator of organ size control. Therefore, further investigation of the regulatory mechanisms will provide physiological insights to better understand tissue homeostasis. In this review, the historical developments and current understandings of the regulatory mechanism of Hippo signaling pathway are discussed.

  • ABS interface IC for automobiles was designed and their electrical properties were investigated. The voltage regulator was designed to operate in the temperature range from $-20^{\circ}\;to\;120^{\circ}C$ for automobile environment. ABS and brake signal were separated using the duty factor of same frequency or different frequencies. UVLO circuit and constant current circuit were applied for the elimination of noise.

  • The strip tension as well as the line speed should be controlled tightly for the quality of products and productivity of the continuous strip processing line. In this paper, a new tension control algorithm with tension observer is proposed using observed tension as regulator feedback. The tension observer is based on the torque balance of a roller stand including the acceleration torque. Using this estimated tension, new tension controller can be constructed with faster dynamic response in case of line speed acceleration or deceleration. The proposed scheme needs no additional hardware because the inputs of observer, current and speed, are already being monitored by the motor drive system. Through the simulations and experiments with laboratory set up, performances fo conventional schemes and proposed one are compared. The results show the effectiveness of the proposed tension controller.

  • A zero-voltage transition (ZVT) PWM boost PFC converter using a transformer to recover the resonant energy into the input voltage is proposed. The proposed converter reduces turn-off switching loss of the auxiliary switch. The resonant current of the auxiliary circuit is optimally reduced by the feed-forwarded input voltage. Moreover, the resonant energy of the auxiliary circuit is recovered into the load and input voltages. In this paper, the modes of converter operation are explained and analyzed, design guidelines are given, and experimental results of 1.2kW, 200kHz prototype system are presented.

  • Two-stage power factor correction (PFC) converter with a single PWM controller is proposed. It consists of a power factor pre-regulator cascaded by an isolated DC/DC converter as in a conventional two-stage approach. However, a single PWM controller is used as in a single-stage, single-switch PFC approach. This converter gives the goof power factor correction, low line current harmonic distortions, and tight output voltage regulations. This converter also has a high efficiency by employing an soft switching method. The proposed approach has advantages such as high performance over the single-stage approach and low cost over two-stage approach. The experimental results obtained on a 300W (30V/10A) prototype PFC converter are given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control method.

  • Despite significant efforts to improve the treatment of tuberculosis (TB), it remains a prevalent infectious disease worldwide owing to the limitations of current TB therapeutic regimens. Recent work on novel TB treatment strategies has suggested that directly targeting host factors may be beneficial for TB treatment. Such strategies, termed host-directed therapeutics (HDTs), focus on host-pathogen interactions. HDTs may be more effective than the currently approved TB drugs, which are limited by the long durations of treatment needed and the emergence of drug-resistant strains. Targets of HDTs include host factors such as cytokines, immune checkpoints, immune cell functions, and essential enzyme activities. This review article discusses examples of potentially promising HDTs and introduces novel approaches for their development.
