Design and Analysis of a NMOS Gate Cross-connected Current-mirror Type Bridge Rectifier for UHF RFID Applications (UHF RFID 응용을 위한 NMOS 게이트 교차연결 전류미러형 브리지 정류기의 설계 및 해석)

  • In this paper, a new NMOS gate cross-connected current-mirror type bridge rectifier for UHF RFID applications is presented. The DC converting characteristics of the proposed rectifier are analyzed with the high frequency equivalent circuit and the gate capacitance reduction technique for reducing the gate leakage current due to the increasing of operating frequency is also proposed theoretically by circuitry method. As the results, the proposed rectifier shows nearly same DC output voltages as the existing NMOS gate cross-connected rectifier, but it shows the gate leakage current reduced to less than 1/4 and the power consumption reduced more than 30% at the load resistor, and it shows more stable DC supply voltages for the valiance of load resistance. In addition, the proposed rectifier shows high enough and well-rectified DC voltages for the frequency range of 13.56MHz HF(for ISO 18000-3), 915MHz UHF(for ISO 18000-6), and 2.45 GHz microwave(for ISO 18000-4). Therefore, the proposed rectifier can be used as a general purpose one to drive RFID transponder chips on various RFID systems which use specified frequencies.

  • 전류 미러회로를 이용한 직류 전류 센서를 이용하면 간단하게 전류센서회로를 구성할 수 있다. 더우기 Shunt 저항에서 낮은 전압을 이용하므로 효율적인 전류감지회로를 구성할 수 있다. 그러나 트랜지스터의 에미터 베이스 전압을 이용하므로 비 직선성이 두드러진다. 이 회로의 전류센서, 온도특성등 여러 전기적 물리적 특성을 이해하고 이를 마이크로프로세서를 이용하여 그 특성을 상쇄하는 구성을 고려하여 보기로 한다.

  • A new interface circuit for variable resistive sensors is proposed. The interface circuit compose of only two strain gages, a voltage-to-current converter, and current mirror with two outputs. A new dual slope A/D converter based on linear operational transconductance amplifier for the testing of prototype interface circuit is also described. The theory of operation is presented and experimental results are used to verify the theoretical predictions. The results show close agreement between predicted behaviour and experimental performance.

  • In this paper, we propose a new current sense amplifier for low-voltage, high-speed SRAM. As a supply voltage is reduced, a sensing delay is increased owing to reduced cell read current. It causes a low-speed operation in SRAM. To overcome this problem, we present a new current sense amplifier which consists of the current-mirror type circuit with feedback structure. For demonstration, a 0.8-V, 256-Kb SRAM incorporating the proposed current sense amplifier has been designed with $0.18-{\mu}m$ CMOS technology. The simulation results show 15.6ns of the sensing delay reduction in comparison with a previous current sense amplifier and 11.5ns of the sensing delay reduction in comparison with a voltage sense amplifier.

  • A 3V-50MHz analog CMOS continuous-time current-mode filter with a negative resistance load(NRL) is proposed. In order to design a current-mode current integrator, a modified basic current mirror with a NRL to increase the output resistance is employed. the inherent circuit structure of the designed NRL current integrator, which minimizes the internal circuit nodes and enhances the gain bandwidth product, is capable of making the filter operate at the high frequency. The third order Butterworth low pass filter utilizing the designed NRL current integrator is synthesized and simulated with a 1.5.mu.m CMOS n-well proess. Simulation result shows the cutoff frequency of 50MHz and power consumption of 2.4mW/pole with a 3V power supply.

  • In the high speed analog system satellite communication system, video signal processing and optical fiber interface circuits, GaAs high gain operational amplifier is advantageous due to obtain a high gain because of its low transconductance and other drawbacks, such as low frequency dispersion and process variation. Therefore in this paper, a circuit techniques for improving the voltage gain for GaAs MESFET amplifier is presented. Also, various types of existing current mirror and current mirror proposed are compared.To obtain the high differential gain, bootstrap gain enhancement technique is used and common mode feedback is employed in differential amplifier.The simulation results show that gain is higher than that of basic amplifier about 18.6dB, and stability and frequency performance of differential amplifier are much improved.

  • This paper proposes a new bandgap reference (BGR) circuit which takes advantage of a cascode current mirror biasing to reduce the V$\_$ref/ variation, and sizing technique, which utilizes two related ratio numbers k and N, to reduce the PNP BJT area. The proposed BGR is designed and fabricated on a test chip with a goal to provide a reference voltage to the 10 bit A/D(4-4-4 pipeline architecture) converter of the CMOS Active Pixel Sensor (APS) imager to be used in X-ray imaging. The basic temperature variation effect on V$\_$ref/ of the BGR has a maximum delta of 6 mV over the temperature range of 25$^{\circ}C$ to 70$^{\circ}C$. To verify that the proposed BGR has radiation hardness for the X-ray imaging application, total ionization dose (TID) effect under Co-60 exposure conditions has been evaluated. The measured V$\_$ref/ variation under the radiation condition has a maximum delta of 33 mV over the range of 0 krad to 100 krad. For the given voltage, temperature, and radiation, the BGR has been satisfied well within the requirement of the target 10 bit A/D converter.

  • This paper proposes high performance $8{\times}8$ multiplier using current-mode quaternary logic technique. The multiplier is functionally partitioned into the following major sections: partial product generator block(binary-quaternary logic conversion), current-mode quaternary logic full-adder block, quaternary-binary logic conversion block. The proposed multiplier has 4.5ns of propagation delay and 6.1mW of power consumption. Also, this multiplier can easily adapted to binary system by the encoder, the decoder. This circuit is simulated under 0.35um standard CMOS technology, 5uA unit current, and 3.3V supply voltage using Hspice.

  • A CCTV system reduces some number of cameras if we use convex-mirror. In this case, convex-mirror Image distorted, we need transformation to flat images. In the center of mirror images, a transformed image has no distortion, but at near boundary image has plentiful distortion. This distortion is caused by occlusion of angled ray and diffraction. We know that the linear filtering approach cannot separate noise from signal where their Fourier spectra overlap. But using a non-linear discretization method, we shall reduce blurred noise. In this paper, we introduce the backward solution of nonlinear wave equation for reducing blurred noise and biased expansion of equilibrium contour. We propose, after applying the introduced method, and calculate with discretization method. To analysis the experimental result, we investigate to PSNR and get about 4dB better than current method.

  • IT companies are increasingly taking interest in the automobile industry as a major industry of the future. Companies specializing in information technology, such as Google, Apple and Samsung, are actively taking part in the automobile industry and are conducting various research on connected cars. At this point in time, this study aims on understanding the concept of connected cars and the concept of mirror linking, which is one of the many methods in connecting cars. In this transitional period of connected cars, the purpose of this study is to present the method of mirror linking iPhones and to discover how this could be used in connected cars. By turning a normal car into a connected car, simply with a smartphone in hand, the ideas presented in this study will serve as an opportunity for many current automobile owners to experience the functions of connected cars of the future without shouldering additional expenses.
