Exploring the Possibilities of Educational Use of Social Curation Service Using the FGI Analysis (FGI분석을 통한 소셜 큐레이션 서비스의 교육적 활용 가능성 탐색)

  • This study was conducted to explore the possibilities of educational use of social curation service, which is the third-generation social networking service called the "matters of interest type." To this end, the study selected nine college students, then have them use social curation service for about 50 days, and analyzed their responses by performing the focus group interview (FGI). As a result of the analysis, social curation service was found to have strong points, including collection of various types of information, classification and summary through creation of my own category, possibility of constant updating of matters of interest, and reduction of relative deprivation compared to existing social networking services. To solve these issues, constant promotion was needed. From the aspect of educational use, it was found that social curation service had possibilities for individuals and teams: For individuals, the service enabled voluntary search and use of information, configuration of my own data, and facilitation of self-directed learning. For teams, it enabled discussion and presentation activities through sharing.

A Study on User-Library Relationship with the Library Curation Service (도서관 큐레이션 서비스를 통한 이용자-도서관 관계형성에 대한 연구)

  • As the core task was selected in the 3rd Comprehensive Library Advancement Plan, 'Reinforcement of programs and services to strengthen future citizens' capacity required in the Fourth Industrial Revolution', the customized curation service of the library using artificial intelligence technology has recently been in the spotlight. The purpose of this study is to find out how the customized curation service affects the relationship between the library and the user. As a result, the library curation service was proved to have a statistically significant effect on user satisfaction and reliability. Satisfaction and reliability were also found to have a positive effect on library revisit, word of mouth intention, increased use, and new service intention. The results of this study can be used as basic data for the development and the operation of customized curation services based on user demand surveys, and could further contribute to enhancing the status of public libraries in Korea by mproving the competitiveness of libraries in the future society.

Analysis of Priorities for the Provision of Book Curation Service by Teacher Librarian Using AHP (AHP를 이용한 사서교사의 북큐레이션 서비스 제공에 대한 우선순위 분석)

  • This study aims to identify priorities in book curation service that the teacher librarians perceive important through the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Progress) method by comparing the jobs of teacher librarians with those of curators and selecting the contents and areas of book curation service provided by school libraries. For the purpose, this study categorized the book curation service areas by class and analyzed the priorities in the book curation service areas in the school libraries by applying the AHP method on the teacher librarians who are the personnel in school libraries. As a result, the priorities in the upper-tier class were turned out to be information services, improvement of expertise, information resources, management, and promotion & marketing in that order. The priorities in the lower-tier evaluation areas were shown in the order of survey & research, Q&A, self-development, exhibition, budget allocation, connecting with experts, trend analysis, reading education, human resources, planning, collaboration class, marketing services, book status, online promotion, offline promotion, and facilities & environment. Based on the results, this study suggested the following plans to provide effective book curation services in school libraries: grasping characteristics of school library users, setting classification criteria for book curation, and finding reader participation-oriented book curation service.

  • This study checks the conceptual definition of domestic book curation which is still in the beginning stage, the necessity of developing service and business, domestic and overseas case of relevant service. Further, the problem of book recommendation service and the difficulty anticipated in the embodiment of service are investigated together and the business model as new IT service is suggested to supplement them. Specifically, the collection of book information and customer information (interest and purchase pattern) and the procedure of mining the collected information and the process of embodying visualization was presented in the sector of service in the first place. Then, the technical transfer of developed solution and the construction cost and the method to impose commission over contents sales are presented in the sector of business. Diverse social and economic effects are expected to realize by developing and utilizing such services, namely, promoting the distribution of excellent book which were kept in dead storage so far due to lack of marketing support, recommendation readers the proper books which are convenient and necessary.

  • The purpose of this study is to discuss the improvement plan of book curation service by examining the current status of book curation, necessity and effectiveness of book curation, targeting librarian teachers. A questionnaire survey was conducted targeting 51 librarians in the Gyeonggi region. The main results are as follows. First, 86.3% of respondents had experience in book curation operation. Second, the most important reason for book curation service was to introduce resources of various subjects to students. Third, the subject of curation were selected by book event and social issues. Fourth, there were many cases where librarians performed services without receiving training on book curation. Lastly, although the recognition that book curation services are necessary is high, they are experiencing operational difficulties due to lack of space and budget. Based on the results, Based on the results, we suggested that this study has academic contributions as data that reports the reality of book curation, and that in order to actively match library resources with users without disappearing, professional education and curriculum of librarians should be able to eliminate common problems in previous studies.

  • SCS(Social Curation Service)is a service system to help sale and consumption with intelligent information about consumer's favor which is got from the combination of social service and internet shopping mall. This paper develops and analyzes some algorithms for catching the customer's preference tendency in SCS system. The developed algorithms are implemented to verify it's efficiency.

A Study on the Book Recommendation Standards of Book-Curation Service for School Library (학교도서관 북 큐레이션 서비스를 위한 도서추천 기준에 관한 연구)

  • This study proposes the Book-Curation service as part of the information service offered through school library websites. Also, this study aims to establish recommendation standards for curation prior to detailed system planning. For such service, the following tasks were carried out. First, the list of recommended books of existing systems were analyzed to identify the attributes that can be used for recommendation in the user and book information. Second, the analyzed attributes were utilized to establish 12 recommendation standards. Finally, a survey was carried out to identify the user preferences as to each standards. The results are as follows. First, the majority of students responded that curation service is necessary for using a library. Second, the top three standards are as follows: "best lending books based on the keywords of individual users"; "best lending books of the same year students"; "best lending books on the textbook-related reference booklist".

  • This paper proposes a mobile content curation service to collect various online/offline publications. The company publishes one-time topic information to a broker server in advance and customer curates topic information on a mobile device by requesting it. The main characteristics of the proposed service are: it is based on request/response model rather than existing publish/subscribe model, can easily specify topic information by input string without QR code or audio recognition, and retrieves all of topic information anywhere anytime by storing it on mobile device. This service can be used for second screen campaign for TV and various online/offline events.

  • In this paper, the customized sport convergence contents curation system is proposed for activation of sport for all. The proposed system collects and analyzes profile of social sports group(club, society, etc.) for recommend optimized sport convergence contents to user. And the survey is progressed for research problem of existed service and usefulness of proposed service. The proposed system and service are expected to design innovative new service model for activate of sport for all.

  • This study attempted to present a strategic direction that helps in vitalizing the domestic fashion and beauty magazine industry by examining the factors that influence the intention to use the fashion beauty magazine curation service. A survey was conducted on 314 college students in Korea, and the results were derived through a series of analysis processes using the SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 21.0 programs. Technology self-efficacy had a positive effect on perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, perceived value had a positive effect on perceived usefulness. Technology self-efficacy and perceived value had a positive effect on intention to use, perceived ease of use had a positive effect on perceived usefulness. Perceived ease of use did not have a significant effect on intention to use, but perceived usefulness had a positive effect on intention to use. In order to increase the intention of using the mobile-based fashion beauty magazine curation service for college students, it is necessary to clearly understand the value and usefulness of the curation service.
