This study aims to identify how performing artists in Korea, who are the target beneficiaries of the Arts Council Korea's Performing Arts Fostering Program, Chang-jak-san-shil(CJSS), would perceive and assess the current state of CJSS and its effects. To do so, this paper has adopted a bottom-up approach as a theoretical lens for policy evaluative analysis. This research engages with qualitative research design by conducting a series of in-depth interviews and FGIs with 28 participants in total. The interview participants consist of CJSS grantees(n=21) and peer-review panels(n=7) based on the intension to enhance objectivity and reliability of the study. Results of the data analysis suggest that the grant program still carries pressing needs to achieve a success as follows: providing post-program support, enhancing transparency of the panel appointment process and the peer review process, reflecting different nature of each arts discipline, and having more open communications with arts professionals. Based on these findings, this paper will provide and discuss about policy implications which can contribute to the performing arts domain at large.

In Nuri curriculum, Korean traditional culture has presented by 'Our country's plays and arts'. Games in the traditional play culture for children include ones such as tangram, top-spinning game, game of slap-match, sabangchigi. In this paper, we analyse concepts of mathematics in Korean childhood traditional plays. In detail, we show that number concepts, geometric space sense, measure calculation ability and problem-solving capability through 15 Korean traditional games.

The present study explored a comprehensive investigation of university professors' perspectives on the implementation of ChatGPT - an artificial intelligence-powered language model - in their teaching practices. A diverse group of 30 university professors responded to a questionnaire about the level of their interest in implementing the tool, willingness to apply it, and concerns they have regarding the intervention of ChatGPT in higher education setting. The results showed that the participants are highly interested in employing the tool into their teaching practice, and find that the students are likely to benefit from using ChatGPT in classroom settings. On the other hand, they displayed concerns regarding high depandency on data, privacy-related issues, lack of supports required, and technical contraints. In today's fast-paced society, educators are urged to mindfully apply this inevitable generative AI means with thoughtfulness and ethical considerations to and for their learners. Relevant topics are discussed to successfully intervene AI tools in teaching practices in higher education.

The present study has investigated and explored the role of Sungkyunkwan during the Joseon Dynasty and implications for modern education in South Korea using numerous literature dataset, such as google Scholar, Scopus, Web of Science. Sungkyunkwan had a significant role in the Joseon dynasty's academic, social and political life. They were known as Sungkyunkwan scholars and were the elite group with a significant controlling influence over the governmental structure. In addition, they influenced policy-making, judiciary, and culture preservation through their understanding and application of Confucianism. More specifically, the Sungkyunkwan graduates were appointed to serve in many administrative capacities in Hanyang and other city provinces, spreading the culture and beliefs of Sungkyunkwan throughout the kingdom. According to the prior study, South Korea faces the issues of modernity; however, the approaches brought by Sungkyunkwan and the concept of education that was adopted still have their relevance. Education in modern Korean society is closely connected with scholars; schools and universities are built to cultivate brilliant individuals with solid morals and values for society. The spirit of Sungkyunkwan, which is about diligence, perseverance, and ethical conduct, is still rooted in the Korean educational system.

Especially art marketing has increased consumers. expectation and interest about art activities. Also, art marketing has become important as it has helped consumers to have critical view about products and improve their standard of life. As a way of art marketing, a company provides diverse exhibitions, sponsors and education programs related to art in either a specific space of the company building or a separate place. It can be said that this example of art marketing is a kind of an image marketing and public welfare at the same time. This article presents the concept of culture marketing and current condition of company. s support for culture and arts. In addition, the article depicts the concept and classification of art marketing. Furthermore, through analysis of company exhibition space and programs, the article illustrates the features and typology of art galleries managed by companies.

In this paper it is considered that international students who are studying at Korean universities have difficulty in completing their studies while adjusting to Korean university life. The reason for this is that most international students enter university but they are lack of liberal arts knowledge such as Korean language skills and foundation studies necessary for their major studies. However, most universities focus on teaching Korean language as a liberal arts course for international students. Therefore It suggests that the most important and urgent required is for international students to improve their liberal arts knowledge as well as their Korean language skills. Furthermore, this paper argues order for international students who do not have enough liberal arts such as Korean language proficiency or basic science to study successfully, a systematic liberal arts curriculum and teaching methods for international students should be presented and applied in the field. Accordingly, this paper shows an example of the class operated by applying the knowledge-based Korean language teaching method to the cultural class, which is a dedicated subjects for international students, and proved its effectiveness.

In this study, the announced in 2010 was used to identify the flow of social value expansion on the culture and art education and to provide the future direction. In the context of culture and art education, cultural diversity is an important agenda, and thus the case of cultural diversity program by the National Museum of Contemporary Art was analyzed to discuss the social role of culture and art education. To summarize the findings, it is a program of promoting understanding on the diversity of art in the same period and various identifies of the members of our society through the exhibition of «Artist of the Year», and it is a program on cultural diversity of understanding the diversity and identity of various members in our society through the contemporary artwork. Through theme-based approach, education on cultural diversity and cooperative learning were applied to develop the sense of community. Based on the core values of education on cultural diversity, the contents of the education program on performed total of 80 times on 14 programs in 2017-2019 were analyzed. As a result, the analysis showed 9 core values, and the core values of education on cultural diversity derived through the content analysis of the education program on were ① Engagement, ② Conversation, ③ Citizenship, ④ Coexistence, ⑤ Human Rights, ⑥ Difference, ⑦ Equality, ⑧ Cooperation, ⑨ Solidarity. As the space enhancing the cultural engagement, the art museum is a place for realizing the value on cultural diversity, so it has significance as the space that embraces both cultural diversity and culture and art education. In this sense, it was identified that the discussion on the cultural diversity and culture and art education was being expanded into the perspective of various groups and communities in our society through the core values of engagement, conversation, citizenship, coexistence, human rights, difference, equality, cooperation, solidarity and direction, which were provided by the analysis of the contents on the art museum education program on cultural diversity in the National Museum of Contemporary Art.

The aim of this study was to search conditions activating the regional consortium for regional culture education in schools. Results of this study are follows: the regional consortium consists of parents of students, communities, schools, school boards, public institutes, and NGO groups. The consortium contribute the educational support and development for student activities in schools. Furthermore the consortium make an offer to coordinate and facilitate the delivery of information, resources, and services to students, educators, employers, and the community. Therefore, the consortium might be best described as "matchmakers" that help ensure that our customers are able to easily connect with providers of the services they need. The consortium will be made up of a network of service providers from across its region that all collaborate in helping to connect the local education and school communities.

This is a study on 'Objet' in animation culture art education. Research on the use of Objet in modern art is actively under way. From Cubism to Dadaism, Surrealism, Futurism and Pop art, it is no exaggeration to say that the Objet is stepping with modern art. In addition, Objet has a remarkable value in the field of visual arts expressing 'motion' such as kinetic art, video art, media art, and animation. However, there are not many cases of classifying and studying the types of Objets used in artworks. Therefore, this researcher has been influenced by the surrealism discourse and prepared six types of Objets type analysis framework. And the research focused on 'the aesthetic emotion and educational aspect of creativity improvement' of Objet animation was conducted. The type analysis framework is named as a drawing Objet, Objet of existence, a morphine Objet, epidermis Objet, assigned Objet and assemblage Objet and this type is presented and analyzed with case image. The data used in this study was focused on the outcome of Objet animation that were trained for non-experts in culture and arts education. This aesthetic emotion refers to Freud's desire for life (Eros) as Attraction, and desire for death (Thanatos) as Uncanny (fearful unfamiliarity) and explains the conflicting concept with the Animism, the indigenous religion. Next, educational aspects of Objet animation creativity improvement in relation to the term 'functional fixedness' was discussed as described by Gestalt psychologist Karl Duncker (1903-1940). Overcoming the functional fixedness is a phenomenon that is fixed only to the functional aspects of things and can't be changed. In this study, the educational aspect of creativity improvement was demonstrated as a case of overcoming the functional fixedness through 'Objet Animation' culture and art education. Ultimately, this study is to prove the aesthetic emotion and creativity of the Objet animation by analyzing Objet types. Furthermore, it is meaningful to suggest direction when using 'Objet Animation' in culture and arts education.

We researched the modern meanings of traditional dining table courtesy education and its correlation with the main values of contemporary personality education based on dining table courtesy education stated in the social norms texts of the Joseon dynasty. Among the social norms of the Joseon dynasty, we chose Sohak, Naehun, Dongmongsuji, Seonghakjibyo, Gyeongmongyogyeol, Jeungbosallimgyeongje, Sasojeol, and Koamgahoon for research. As a result of our research on these documents and books, the modern meanings of the courtesy education at the dining table can be summarized as follow. First, the courtesy education has table manners appropriate for the development level of early children. Second, it teaches right-handed dining manners that match the features of Korean food culture. Third, it has the self-discipline and the values of community life, sharing, solicitude, and communication. Fourth, parents and grandparents are involved in the education. Fifth, it has the core values of modern personality education: manners, filial piety, respect, solicitude, communication, cooperation, and responsibility. Future courtesy education at the dining table should include practical education programs that can consolidate the bond of sympathy between the home, school, and society, and can improve its practice; in addition, to expand the opportunities for education, proactive social support is demanded.
