The primary purposes of this study are to suggest a medium-sized regeneration project which includes the excluded small sites near existing regeneration site, to identify urban improvement type which fits local conditions, and to suggest proper regeneration strategies for the improvement type. Main findings of this study are follows. First, the size of the living environment improvement project in urban area should be larger than 3ha and government's incentives are required for parcel merges to make the medium-size project site. Second, independent type of urban regeneration project should consider local characteristics while center-spread type of urban regeneration project should build a center by providing neighborhood facilities and proper housings. Third, urban regeneration project should be able to utilize local assets, such as cultural heritages, natural landscapes, transportation facilities. Fourth, standards for public support should be prepared to improve local competitiveness. Last, further studies are required for urban regeneration system improvement.

This paper investigated the relationship between corporate governance mechanisms and firm performance in Vietnam. Based on a dataset of 101 HOSE-listed manufacturing firms, the results showed that CEOs' knowledge capability, gender diversity, and board size are positively associated with firm performance, whereas firm age is negatively associated. These findings suggested that firms should consider enlarging the boardrooms, but to a certain extent to avoid an inverse-U-shaped decline of performance; furthermore, firms should promote women executives' presence in a boardroom for it brings greater cultural-diversity benefits and inhibits information asymmetry. Contrary, the aging process impedes firms' growth. It depreciates their values in terms of total assets, so managers must review their assets' net value after each working year to avoid such a hardship. However, the thesis constrains itself since it did not treat the TMTs' knowledge capability equally as the CEOs' and completely excluded their treatment. Besides, it did not regard the effect of external governance mechanisms such as the supply-demand relationship, customer behavior, market imperfections, and market concentration due to data unavailability. Based on the main findings, several suggestions are set forth for firms and managers to enhance performance and minimize a poor governance mechanism's adverse consequence.
The Baekjae Culture Festival was first held with the objective to re-explore and succeed the traditions of Baekjae culture based on history of Baekjae's seat of government, Gongju and Buyeo. It has contributed to the development of regional culture and establishment of cultural identity of local community with its pride as the leading historical cultural festival that introduces the history and culture of Baekje. However, the current Baekje Culture Festival as a historical and cultural festival is faced with a criticism as it is operated in the direction far from its initial purpose due to the lack of recognition in its significance and application. Therefore, the National Baekje Cultural Products Concours is held as part of various contests of Baekje Culture Festival in order to encourage the pride of Baekje history, draw international attention for the advanced and unique Baekje culture, develop innovative ideas for cultural products and grow the talents in design. The awarded work of this national concours is believed to be effective for the cultural contents industry. However, unlike its initial purpose, the concours has become a one-time exhibitionist event. Hence, through the analysis of general facts and case of domestic cultural products this thesis aims to find a way to utilize the National Baekje Cultural Products Concours in order to re-evaluate the history and culture of Baekje and enhance the public recognition through their viewing, consuming, promoting and experiencing of cultural products.
Iksan is one of medium city in Jellabukdo, South Korea. It has a favorable natural environment for the specialization potential of natural industries and development projects. In addition, it has various historical and cultural resources including Mireuksajji, and KTX Honam line which has been opened for a representative feature as transport city. However, it faces week connection with neighboring cities and large scale of development in neighboring areas, especially in Jeonju and Gunsan. In this paper, we try to classify the urban image assets of Iksan as 'Iksan Station' and 'ktx' on keywords and analyze the possibility of being a center of transportation and logistics through big data analysis extracted from SNS and website. In comparison with Gwangju Songjeong, KTX Honam line station, which has been developed with similar regional characteristics, it is aimed to establish the basis of improvement and establishment of urban image of Iksan city in the future.
As urbanization has evolved, a number of cities have been engaged in building creative power through branding. Cities contain much creative space and creative space within cities develops them. Cities are connected with space, which have a great influence each other, in particular, in cities of culture and art. Space contents in cities have various forms and types and work as important factors for branding of cities. In this high-touch generation, cities of culture and art have special meaning in that design of emotional generation, and cultural meaning of tangible and intangible assets in cities are their competitive power and sources of high added value. The cities of culture and art are oriented toward creative future globally and nationally. In cities of culture which seek for urban development by excavating artistic meaning and value through artistic and cultural development, their cultural meaning itself can become a brand, which effectively leads to building creative cities and marketing of urban brands. This study aims to analyse cases of cities developed through discovering or reactivating art and cultural meaning and value of urban space based on urban space contents. Then it analyses through what urban image, brands and marketing space contents were developed and suggests necessity of space contents development in small and middle sized cities. Therefore, based on the cases of art and cultural cities developed depending on space contents, it analyses and differentiate their various types and contents, aiming to show that any cities can be based on art and culture and creativity depending on creation, regeneration and development of space contents.
The stone lantern of the Damyang Gaeseonsaji temple site is a cultural heritage built during the Unified Silla period (AD 868). The reason for its value as a cultural property is due to wittern the background and the period created on inscription of the lamp stone engraved by letters. The stone lantern consists of two types of lithic tuffs for the 23 original properties, the replaced stones in 1991, and the biotite granite for its ground stones replaced in 2005. The lithic tuffs selected as the replacement parts in 1991 and 2017 have been examined and got to properties of hardly exposure moisture as well as very similar geochemical characteristics. There were various types of physical deterioration of the stone properties and structural cracks; in particular, on the northern side of the stylobates. Chemical and biological deterioration can be identified as black, white, and brown discolorations as well as by the presence of lichens, bryophytes, and herbaceous plants. In the evaluation of the physical properties of the stone lantern, the mean and maximum ultrasonic velocities were found to be similar in each direction. However, the lowest velocity on the east and south sides were found to be lower than those of other stone properties. It was found that physical damage to the stylobates resulted from water expansion in a freeze-to-thaw phenomena related to water content. Therefore, dismantling repair was carried out in the protection facility to restrict further water supply to the stone as much as possible.

Different countries around the world, using their traditional culture as a background, are promoting new changes and reformation in development and publicity method of cultural contents to promote national interests and to increase their competitiveness. Also, as the citizen's standard of living and quality of living goes up, various demands for the enjoyment of traditional culture goes up accordingly as well. As the cultural assets environment become more complicated and diverse, there is a need for systematic management and preservation plan. Keeping these viewpoints in mind, the geo-spatial information provision service using the web provides various forms of services such as satellite imagery, terrain, and 3D viewing, enabling the user to gain concrete spatial information on specific areas. The geo-spatial information using 3D modeling is done only in limited spaces because of construction expenses or difficulties in management and maintenance. In this thesis, I would like to propose Effective method for the GoogleEarth Uploading through simplification of 3D object for the publicity of traditional buildings and Cultural Resources and Tourist Attractions.

This thesis is to newly understand the value and the meaning of Chonju Palkyong(全州八景) by the specific gravity in making a counter-proposal in other to improve the landscape identity of modern city and at the same time. I intended to group the grafting device for the preservation and regeneration of modern history cultural environment through the interpretation of landscape construction. The meaning system of Chonju Palkyong showed the symbolic system which a landscape construction, four directions and two places has and exhibited the landscape shape possessing a luxuriant local feature peculiar to Chonju, preserving visual bound language of a classical Palkyong. Especially, it implies the use of the substantial landscape experienced factor, the expressions about natural phenomena and the matter which has melted human living circumstances. The landscape construction and it's form show the system which forms the different time field, a far landscape and a mid distance landscape and a near landscape, etc., under the visual, psychological, scenic influenced area, preserving the feature of the similar and typical type of Sosang Palkyoung(瀟湘八景) which intended to seek the local reappearance of the famous site experienced type and natural matter which famous place and local conduct were combined. The object space of Chonju Palkyong area representing the nature of historical landscape cultural assets, pushed by the greater part of the development based theory, shows injured aspects, but needs to play a part to seek such a up-to-date successive plan as the reconstruction of the destroyed historical landscape area which motivated Palkyong, the establishment of useful area, the embodiment of the cultural identity of Palkyong area and the becoming of the educational cultural life space. The analysis of the landscape construction of Chonju Palkyong and the grouping of the modern successive plan which I considered in this thesis, will be able to become a fundamental data to carry out the preservation of historical landscape and the landscape plan in the city.
In correlation to the rapid growth of Korea's economy and increased international exchange, hotel architecture in Korea has likewise evolutionized in its own distinctive style. Since hotels accomodate foreign visitors, they should be representative of the local architecture in which they reside, to add to the experience of the regions culture. City hotels provide not only primary housing functions but also many different varieties of services. Furthermore, city hotels operate as a focal point for their local communities. Seoul announced special measures for the expansion of accommodations for foreign tourists, and a large number of hotel construction entities have consequently propagated. Unfortunately, the designs for most of these new hotels have failed to reflect their local cultural characteristics, with most having similar designs and programs. As Korea enters an era seeing ten million foreign tourists annually, progressive reform is especially necessary. Space marketing, which is based on strategies of cultural experience, is a crucial element to city boutique hotel planning. It must be applied to satisfy both the cultural needs of its local communities and well as to vitalize the local economy through development of cultural tourism. To date, there have been numerous studies on boutique hotels and space marketing. However, most of these studies are limited to interior designs and artistic trends rather than focusing on the unique architectural and public aspects of their respective cities. In this thesis, the overall aim and strategies of space marketing for the city boutique hotel are analyzed, and the elements of strategies are used for further case analysis. The purpose of this study is to find applicability of Korean boutique hotel development through the result of case studies. Also, this thesis aims to advocate space marketing for Korea's forthcoming boutique hotels, as a means to showcase its unique cultural assets as well as to advance its international appeal and competitiveness.

Over the years, cultural mapping methods have been used in several applications and contexts, for diverse cultural assets and to create new conditions for the development of local and regional resources. These methods were inspired by the development of big urban centres and regions, which have been the great engine of cultural mapping growth. The main objectives of the present paper are to provide a literature review on cultural mapping methodologies and to develop exploratory research on crowdsource tools on creative tourism which were applied to one Portuguese municipality in 2017. The research was supported by the implementation and integration of geographic information systems (GIS) and web mapping, which will become part of the solution for the growth of less developed territories and to make more interactive tourist activities. Web mapping's contribution to enhance crowd participation was measured via analysis of 12 digital photos shared through crowdsourcing. The originality of this research lies in the attempt to develop a new model for creative tourism, trying to extend the implementation of Web Mapping crowdsourcing to deprived low density territories. Results show how public participation can be amplified for the tourism market by crowdsourcing tools. These tools look very promising since they can help several members of the public at different ages to contribute to territorial knowledge, engage in activities, and collaborate through digital tools. It is a step to fulfil the lack of studies in this subject and it contributes to the way we think about future studies.
