The purpose of this study was to review the current language level of children from multi-cultural background and whether the language level of these children would be increased after participating in the 'We Start Language Intervention Program'. The subjects were 30 36-75-month old children attending daycare centers in Ansan city, South Korea. The results showed that the receptive and expressive language levels of children from multi-cultural families were low compared to those of other children, and that their expressive language level was evaluated more negatively than their receptive language level. After participating in the 'We Start Language Intervention Program', language test scores, language age and language percentile rank were all increased. It was also found that the developmental language level of multi-cultural children increased, and that of the children that had a language delay or language disorder decreased.

As a cultural feature of, the relics of the Royal Tomb of King Muryeong are suitable design content for applying with sophisticated production and delicate molding laser cutting techniques. The purpose of this study is to develop modern bag designs using relics of the Royal Tomb of King Muryeong of Baekje using laser-cutting techniques. First, the historical background and meaning of Baekje's cultural content were explored. Second, the principle of laser-cutting techniques were explored, laser-cutting techniques applied to modern fashion and bag design were examined, and bag design characteristics were analyzed. Third, based on prior research, the criteria for the development of bag design, from which eight bag design were developed that combine modern popularity and functionality utilizing Baekje cultural content and using laser-cutting techniques to apply the textile design developed by researchers in 2013 (modified to match laser-cutting techniques). The research results show that bag were clutch, tote, shoulder, and mini. Gold, silver, brown, beige, and navy colors were arranged, based on black/white contrast. Cow, lambskin, washed snakeskin, mesh, and Saffiano leather were used. For the pattern-applying technique, this study showed that a new digital technique, which is laser-cutting techniques could be combined with contemporary bag designs. Moreover, a bag design was developed that has a modern sense and functionality as well as Korean formativeness, which is significant.

This study aimed to analyze the nature and characteristics of the preserved state, materials, and colored pigments of a Buddhist painting of Eunhaesa temple(gwaebultaeng), which is Treasure No. 1270 of Korea, through scientific investigation and analysis. Based on the historical background of the subject, the study investigated the aspects of conservation and analyzed the material characteristics of each pigment in the painting. Results indicate that various colors were created using inorganic pigments such as white lead, minium, cinnabar, orpiment, gold, atacamite, malachite, and smalt and using organic pigments such as black and indigo. The Eunhaesa painting used "cho" as a material for wallpaper, which was unusual during the Joseon period. In addition, a white layer was formed using various white pigments, which was also rare during this period.

Style transfer algorithms are currently undergoing active research and are used, for example, to convert ordinary images into classical painting styles. However, such algorithms have yet to produce appropriate results when applied to Korean cultural heritage images, while the number of cases for such applications also remains insufficient. Accordingly, this study attempts to develop a style transfer algorithm that can be applied to styles found among Korean cultural heritage. The algorithm was produced by improving data comprehension by enabling it to learn meaningful characteristics of the styles through representation learning and to separate the cultural heritage from the background in the target images, allowing it to extract the style-relevant areas with the desired color and texture from the style images. This study confirmed that, by doing so, a new image can be created by effectively transferring the characteristics of the style image while maintaining the form of the target image, which thereby enables the transfer of a variety of cultural heritage styles.

This study was designed to look into whether there is any mediated effect of psychological well-being and empowerment on the path of the negative emotions of mothers from multi-cultural families turning into the life satisfaction and tried to demonstrate empirically factors to mitigate the decline in the life satisfaction due to negative emotions of mothers from multi-cultural families. In addition, we verified the differences of psychological factors according to the characteristics of the sociology of population of mothers from multi-cultural families. For this, the survey was conducted with 400 mothers from multi-cultural families across the nation. The results are as follows. First, in case of negative emotions, there were differences among groups depending on ages, years of marriage and educational background. In case of psychological well-being and empowerment, there were differences among groups with different age, years of marriage, their own or their spouse's educational background. Second, as a result of looking into the path through which negative emotions turned into life satisfaction, there were the path effects between negative emotions and empowerment, between negative emotions and life satisfaction, and between psychological well-being and life satisfaction. This means that dealing properly with negative emotions can have positive impacts on the three dimensions of psychological well-being, empowerment, and eventually the life satisfaction. This study is meaningful in that it took psychological factors of mothers from multi-cultural families into consideration and the results can be used as useful data to come up with political measures for mothers from multi-cultural families in the future.

George Nakashima (1905-1990) is a second-generation Japanese American who was one of the pioneers of the American Studio Furniture movement. Known for the use of natural timber shape of furniture design, Nakashima's furniture shows the aesthetic characteristics of Japan, which distinguishes it from the furniture of other American studio designers. But Nakashima has been regarded as simply a studio furniture designer, designing furniture that takes its natural form. Therefore, research is needed from a more diverse point of view, and the process of interpreting the cultural backgrounds of a designer becoming a design may be an important subject of study. Thus, this study attempts to interpret the hierarchy of design cultures belonging to a studio designer and to identify cultural characteristics that are not apparent. Therefore, through a process of studying from visible to invisible levels of cultural hierarchy, the study analyzed the aesthetic characteristics of the Nakashima's furniture, his personal experience of Japanese culture, and philosophical background.

From the beginning of the twentieth century, 'Modernism' impacted and transformed art and clothing. Pablo Picasso and Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel were two of the most central characters in Modernism working simultaneously in their disciplines. Picasso's innovations, particularly in abstract art and Chanel's fashion designs, that dramatically departed from the previous corseted and highly decorative styles, were so significant that they have left an influence on contemporary art and fashion. This study will compare their visual works and documented evidence of their motivations, within the context of their cultural backgrounds, to reveal meaning in the occurrences of overlaps. This approach has examined the historical, cultural background of the artist and designer's environment from different perspectives, adding to previous research in this area. Through this research, outcomes of the analysis have shown similarities and divergences in the wider genres of art and fashion and the practice of the artist and fashion designer. The reference list to this text, used in the survey, gives a comprehensive overview of pertinent publications disseminating Picasso and Chanel's visual works, oral perspectives and cultural impact.

The purpose of this study is to provide a qualitative investigation of the possibility that Waldorf education may help children in multicultural families to acclimate themselves to new surroundings in Korea. An educare institution that had adopted the Waldorf Program since 2005 was selected. The parents and teachers of 13 children with a multicultural background who had attended the educare institution were interviewed. The questions were focused on linguistic development, social relationships, and cultural identity in order to determine the differences and changes in the children before and after adaptation to the Waldorf Program. The summary of the results of this study is as follows. The Waldorf Program exerts a positive influence on linguistic development, the formulation of social relationships, and on the cultural identity of children from multicultural families.

A matter of primary concern about all the design is concentrated on how to create more valuable things to allow people to live an affluent life. However, it is very difficult to achieve the goal because every design work is changed in accordance with given situations. Situations are changeable, so is design. There is no progress without change, but change is not necessarily progress. It is highly desirable that their changes be beneficial to mankind. Our main problem is to be able to discrimination between which should be discarded and that which should be kept, built and improved Viewed at this aspect, it is significant to study the relation between globalism and cultural identity of design, because every design has been constantly influenced by global trends and local characteristics.
