  • Damages of wooden cultural heritages caused by various bio-species have been a trend that is increasing on climate change. The decay and bio-damage caused by microbial organisms or insect species are also known to factors of the shape changes and structural problems of wooden cultural heritages. There are so many phenomenons of damage and weathering in wooden cultural heritage for many years and particularly termite can threaten seriously wooden cultural heritage. We investigated with respect to internal and external environment and termite inhabitation around the wooden cultural heritage in Jeollanam-do, Jeollabuk-do, and Jeju-do. As this investigation results, we confirmed that there were the difference in between resident and non-resident about temperature, humidity, moisture contents of wooden building. Resident building is high temperature but humidity and moisture contents is low and these factors are sources of inhabitation condition change about insects as termites. Now we suggest to carry out in parallel to the target wooden cultural heritage and the surrounding habitat for wooden cultural heritage termite damage investigation. Also with the chemical control methods, we must consider necessary to present eco-friendly control management such as construction of heating facilities, residential status, periodic management.

  • Unlike previous studies, which mainly analyzed factors affecting tourism motivation and tourism satisfaction, this study analyzes the political, economic and cultural factors affecting the number of Chinese tourists visiting Korea. Empirical results show that political factors such as the Chinese regime, the number of meetings and talks between Korea and China, the number of phone calls between the two countries, and the Korea-China FTA (also as a economic factor) have a significant impact on the number of Chinese tourists visiting Korea. In particular, political friendly variables related to economy (ex. Korea-China FTA) has been analyzed to have a more significant positive effect on the number of Chinese tourists to Korea than the factors that create friendly atmosphere only in the political field. In addition to political factors, economic factors such as the Korea-China FTA, and cultural factors such as Korean Wave represented by Korean cosmetics also have a significant impact on the number of Chinese tourists visiting Korea.

  • In this paper, we analyze the immersion effects according to the level of map in adventure game. Computer games are actively enjoyed by many people around the world. Game players have frequently experienced the immersion which is an important aspect to be attained from games. However, it is not clear what immersion is and what kinds of factors influence to immersion. Nonetheless, in recent many researches, the elements of humanities and fun were found as factors of immersion in various digital contents such as game, virtual reality, cinema and etc. Therefore, today's games are developed on the basis of the humanities and fun theory that many researchers have been studied for a long time. In games, the balance of the level of map is related with immersion. Hence, it is important to know how the map patterns of game affect immersion of players. In this paper, we developed a 3D survival adventure game named by "1 Hour" using Unity3D in order to simulate how map patterns affect immersion of players. We also analyzed the relationship between the level of map and immersion using the game.

  • Purpose: This descriptive study aims to analyze the effects of the satisfaction level in the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, conflicts between them, acculturative stress and stress coping strategies on elderly depression in multi-cultural families. Methods: The survey was conducted on 89 mothers-in-law, aged 65 or older, in multi-cultural families with a foreign daughter-in-law. Data were collected through structured questionnaires, and then were used to conduct t-test, ANOVA, correlation and multiple regression analyses using the statistical program SPSS 21.0. Results: This study found several factors contributing to depression of mothers-in-law in multi-cultural families. Those factors include living alone without a spouse, poor health, a high level of perceived discrimination and a passive reaction in terms of stress coping strategies. Conclusion: A sense of discrimination perceived by the mothers-in-law having a foreign daughter-in-law implies that the people around them and the community should make efforts to reject distorted perspectives and remove prejudice against foreign daughters-in-law. In addition, the mothers-in-law should receive education and training to use more active and positive stress coping strategies in a stressful situation with the foreign daughter-in-law.

  • The number of foreign cabin crews consist of 7% of total crews in K-airline, of which Chinese crews are of 38%. The number of foreign crews are 433 from 10 countries as of the end of July 2012. The airline has continued to hire foreign cabin crews to increase efficiency of human resourcing qualified flight attendants. This paper tried to do empirical research through SEM(Structural Equation Model) to overview confirmatory factors and course effects integrally. Cultural stress, aggressive coping, social support and job adaption have been chosen to be a factors. Especially, the SEM was set to show indirect effects of cultural stress and aggressive coping through social support to the dependant variable, job adaptation. According to the analysis result, cultural stress has a direct negative effect on job adaptation. Aggressive coping has also a direct positive effect on job adaptation. It has also proven cultural stress and aggressive coping has a indirect effect to job adaptation through social support. This paper is expect to contribute to develop such training and administrative programs as enhancing foreign crews' job adaptability and managing them effectively.

  • To analyze the relationship between climatic factors (mean monthly temperature and total precipitation) and tree-ring growths of Pinus densiflora S. et Z. from National Parks (according to region) of the Korea, 20 trees were sampled from 13 National Parks. Only trees that were successfully cross-dated were used for dendrochronological analysis, and at least 11 trees were included. The tree-ring chronology of Mt. Bukhan (covering the shortest period of 1917 - 2016 [100 years]) was assessed, as well as that of Mt. Seorak (covering the longest period of 1687 - 2017 [331 years]). After cross-dating, each ring width series was double-standardized by first fitting a logarithmic curve and then a 50-year cubic spline. The relationships between climate and tree-ring growth were calculated with response function analysis. The results show a significant positive correlation between a given year's February-March temperature, May precipitation levels, and tree-ring growth. It indicates that a higher temperature in early spring and precipitation before cambium activity are important for radial growths of Pinus densiflora in the Korea.

  • A consideration number of investigation have begun to elucidate the essential role biological agents play in the deterioration of stone. What is becoming clear is that many factors affect the durability of stone. Physical, chemical, and biological agentsact in co-association, ranging from synergistic to antagonistic, to deteriorate stone. Biodeterioration has usually been considered to be a degradation process following the initial deterioration effects of inorganic agents, especially objects of cultural value such as pagoda, stature of Buddha etc. These agents were thought to condition stone surfaces for microbial contamination due to structural changes and enrichment of inorganic organic nutrient substrates. This report concentrates on the action of biodeteriogens from bacteria to algae and higher plants. Preventive and remedial methods are surveyed, as are a selection of chemical treatments.
