  • Recently, 3D printing using a material extrusion method is used in various fields. Since plastic material has lower strength than steel, research to increase the strength is continuously being conducted. This study investigates the lattice structure for additive manufacturing of six 3D infill patterns (octet, quarter cubic, cubic, cubic subdivision, triangles and cross 3D) which consist of tetragons, hexagonal trusses, equilateral triangles and cross shapes. Consequently, in the tensile strength considering the weight and printing time, octet, quarter cubic, cubic and triangles patterns tended to increase linearly as the infill density increased, except for the infill density of 20%. However, the tensile strength/weight performed better than the infill density of 100% when the cubic subdivision pattern had the infill density of 20% and the cross 3D pattern had the infill density of 40%. Considering the weight and printing time, the infill patterns of high tensile strength were octet, quarter cubic, cubic, cubic subdivision, triangles and cross 3D order.

  • The performance of radar Quantitative Precipitation Estimation (QPE) using Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks in hydrological applications depends on either the quality of data or the three-dimensional CAPPI structure from the weather radar. While radar data quality is controlled and enhanced by the more and more modern radar systems, the effect of CAPPI structure still has not yet fully investigated. In this study, three typical and important types of CAPPI structure including inverse-pyramid, cubic of grids 3x3, cubic of grids 4x4 are investigated to evaluate the effect of CAPPI structures on the performance of radar QPE using LSTM networks. The investigation results figure out that the cubic of grids 4x4 of CAPPI structure shows the best performance in rainfall estimation using the LSTM networks approach. This study give us the precious experiences in radar QPE works applying LSTM networks approach in particular and deep-learning approach in general.

  • Crystal structure and structural stability of needle-shaped maghemite(${\gamma}$-{{{{ { {Fe }_{2 }O }_{3 } }}) have been studied by the computation and estimation of lattice energies interionic distances and site potentials. The refined struc-tures analyzed with cubic system(space group P4332) and tetragonal system(space group P4332) were used for these computations. The lattice energy of tetragonal system is -143.10eV/molecule. The maghemite structure with tetragonal system is more stable than that with cubic system. The ordering energy of the FE and cation vacancy within the octahedral site the 4b site of the structure with cubic system(space group P4332) is -0.95eV/molecule but this Fe has larger interionic distance and is very unstable.

  • The lattice structure is attracting attention from industry because of its excellent strength and stiffness, ultra-lightweight, and energy absorption capability. Despite these advantages, widespread commercialization is limited by the difficult manufacturing processes for complex shapes. Additive manufacturing is attracting attention as an optimal technology for manufacturing lattice structures as a technology capable of fabricating complex geometric shapes. In this study, a unit cell was formed using a three-dimensional coordinate method. The relative density relational equation according to the boundary box size and strut radius of the unit cell was derived. Simple cubic (SC), body-centered cubic (BCC), and face-centered cubic (FCC) with a controlled relative density were designed using modeling software. The accuracy of the equations for calculating the relative density proposed in this study secured 98.3%, 98.6%, and 96.2% reliability in SC, BCC, and FCC, respectively. A simulation of the lattice structure revealed an increase in compressive yield load with increasing relative density under the same cell arrangement condition. The compressive yield load decreased in the order of SC, BCC, and FCC under the same arrangement conditions. Finally, structural optimization for the compressive load of a 20 mm × 20 mm × 20 mm structure was possible by configuring the SC unit cells in a 3 × 3 × 3 array.

  • The present article is concerned with the overview of the chemically/surface modified cubic spinel $LiMn_2O_4$ as a cathode electrode far lithium ion secondary batteries. Firstly, this article presented a comprehensive survey of the cubic spinel structure and its correlated electrochemical behaviour of $LiMn_2O_4$. Subsequently, the various kinds of the chemically/surface modified $LiMn_2O_4$ and their electrochemical characteristics were discussed in detail. Finally, this article reviewed our recent research works published on the mechanism of lithium transport through the chemically/surface modified $Li_{1-\delta}Mn_2O_4$ electrode from the kinetic view point by the analyses of the experimental potentiostatic current transients and ac-impedance spectra.

  • Fer the purpose of improving ductility of $Al_3$Ti intermetallic compound has potential to industrial application, we investigated formation behavior of cubic Ll$_2$ structure and effect of Mn addition. Nanocrystalline cubic Ll$_2$Al$_3$Ti intermetallic compound, has 10nm size of grain, was fabricated by mechanical alloying for 20hr at the composition of Al-8Mn-25Ti. Ternary cubic Ll$_2$Al$_3$Ti, added Mn, did not showed phase transformation from Ll$_2$ to D0$_{23}$ or D0$_{22}$ unlike binary cubic Ll$_2$Al$_3$Ti and maintained Ll$_2$ structure.

  • The Pt-Ni alloy is an electro-catalyst of interest in the low temperature direct methanol fuel cells(DMFCs). It has been already reported that the Pt-Ni alloy catalysts may even have enhanced activity compared to pure platinum catalyst, depending on how the surfaces are prepared. The order-disorder transition in bimetallic alloy such as $\beta$-CuZn, Cu3Au, and CuAu have been investigated greatly by x-ray diffraction. After annealing the bimetallic alloy, the crystal structure changes as observed in the order-disorder transition of Cu3Au which changes from the face centered cubic to a simple cubic structure. Pt-Ni bimetallic alloy has been already reported to have the face centered cubic structure. However, in nano-scale Pt-Ni bimetallic alloy crystals the crystal structures changes to a simple cubic structure. In this experiment, we have studied the order-disorder transition in Pt-Ni bimetallic nanocrystals. Pt/Ni thin films were deposited on sapphire(0001) substrates by e-beam evaporator and then Pt-Ni alloy were formed by RTA at 500, 600, and $700^{\circ}C$ in a vacuum environment and Pt-Ni nano particles were formed by RTA at $1059^{\circ}C$ in a vacuum environment. We measured the structure of Pt-Ni bimetallic alloy films using synchrotron x-ray diffraction and SEM.
