다층 글라스세라믹 유전체의 결정화특성에 관한 연구 (Properties of Multilayer Glass-Ceramic Dielectrics)

  • Crystallizable glasses with precipitation of celsian were prepared for the purpose of insulating dielectric layers for the devices such as integrated circuit substrates. Crystallization behavior of these glasses were studied by DTA, SEM, XRD analysis and by the measurement of dielectric properties. The base composition of the glass-ceramic consists in weight percent of 30% SiO2, 10% Al2O3, 26% BaO, 10% CaO, 10% ZnO, 8%TiO2 and 6% B2O3. 2-6 wt% Y2O3 were selected as the nucleating agent to promote monoclinic celsian formation. As a result, in barium-rich glasses containing 4~6wt% Y2O3 , monoclinic celsian was developed as major crystalline phase in the temperature range of 850~90$0^{\circ}C$. Also, the dielectric constant and quality factor of these glass-ceramics were about 9 and more than 1000, respectively.

  • ZnO thick films by Sol-Gel processing were investigated electrics, optics and the sensing characteristics of CO gas. Using the znic acetate dihydrate and acetylaceton (AcAc) as a chelating agent, stable ZnO sol was synthesized. ZnO phase was crystallized through the heat-treatment at $70^{\circ}C$ for 4hrs and influenced the sensing characteristics of the electrics and CO gas by uniform particle distributions not related particle size. The samples on the alumina substrate by thick films were investigated the properties of electrics and the effect of sensing. The sensitivity was so excellent in the sample of the heat-treatment at $600^{\circ}C$ for 12hrs and good in the heat-treatment for 1hrs generally. Crystallization and volatilization of organic materials according to the change of heating treatment temperature of thick films were analyzed by TG-DTA, XRD and mirostructure of thick films were observed by SEM.

Rheological characterization of nanoparticle filled polymeric systems

  • This study focuses on the effects of dispersion method of a nanoparticle in a polymer matrix such as melt mixing, solution blending, and in-situ polymerization on the physical properties of the nanocomposites. Introduction of a nanoparticle to a polymer resulted in some unusual physical properties. In some cases the nanoparticle played a role of a nucleating agent, leading to decreasing induction time to crystallization. In addition, the dispersion state of the nanoparticle in the polymer matrix also had a significant influence on the physical properties of the nanocomposites. Hence the method of introducing the nanoparticle to the polymer made contribution to the rheological properties of the nanocomposite systems.

Purification and Identification of Squalene Synthase Inhibitor Isolated from Fermented Soybean Paste

  • Squalene synthase (SQS) inhibitors were screened from various plants and food extracts. Effective SQS inhibitor was purified from fermented soybean paste using ethanol extraction, HP-20 column chromatography, ethyl acetate extraction, silica gel column chromatography, and crystallization. Through UV spectrometry, $^1H$ NMR, $^{13}C$ NMR, and mass spectrometry, SQS inhibitor was identified as daidzein with molecular mass of 254 and molecular formula of $C_{15}H_{10}O_4$. Daidzein showed $IC_{50}$ value of 50 nmol/L against SQS, confirming its potential as therapeutic agent for hypercholesterolemia.

The Compatibilizing Effect of Maleic Anhydride in Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate (EVA)/Ethylene-${\alpha}$-Olefin Copolymers Blends

  • The compatibilizing effect of maleic anhydride (MA) in the immiscible blends of EVA22 (vinyl acetate content 22%)/ethylene-${\alpha}$-olefin copolymers with 1-butene (EtBC) and 1-octene (EtOC)) comonomers was studied. By adding 1, 2, and 3 phr of MA in the presence of dicumylperoxide, the morphology, tensile strength at break, and 100 and 300 % modulus of EVA22/EtBC and EVA22/EtOC blends were significantly enhanced. The melting point and crystallization point depression were observed upon the addition of MA. The changes in the ${\beta}$ transition and glass transition temperature of ethylene-${\alpha}$-olefin copolymers and ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers, respectively, indicate that MA plays a role of compatibilizer for these immiscible blends. The TGA thermograms, measured from the blends with MA, show that thermal stability is slightly enhanced with MA, indicating that MA acts as a reinforcing agent either by grafting or crosslinking with other copolymers.

BaTiO3 습식직접합성 반응기구에 관한 연구 (Reaction Mechanism on the Synthesis of BaTiO3 by Direct Wet Process)

  • The purpose of this experiment is to elucidate the reaction mechanism concerning to the formation of crystalline BaTiO3 synthesized by adding the pH control agent(KOH soln) in TiCl4 and BaCl2 solution (Wet direct synthetic method). In this expeirment, it is identified that the amorphous barium-titanate having Ba-O-Ti bonding is formed above pH5 due to the -OH- ion and Ti-gel is formed below pH5 due to the polymerization of metatitanic acid. The bonding of the amorphous Ba-O-Ti is identified by FT-IR spectrum and crystallization temperature is about 82$0^{\circ}C$. If the pH of the above system according to the -OH- ion concentration is above 13.8, the polymerized metatitanic acid will be depolymerized and produce [TiO3]2+ion and crystalline BaTiO3 is formed by reacting the produced [TiO3]-- ion with the active Ba++ ion.

한국산 천연원료로부터 $\beta$-Sialon의 합성 및 그 특성 (Properties of $\beta$-Sialon Prepared from Korean Natural Resources)

  • $\beta$-Sialon powder was synthesized by the simultaneous reduction and nitridation of the mixed powder of Hadong kaolin and Kimcheon quartzite, using graphite as a reducing agent. The synthesized $\beta$-Sialon powder (Z=1) was hot-pressed at 175$0^{\circ}C$, for 90min under 30MPa in N2 atmosphere, after Yttria and YAG composition material were added as sintering agents. The effects of grain-boundary crystallization on high-temperature mechanical properties of $\beta$-Sialon ceramics were investigated. Strength degradation was observed at above 1,00$0^{\circ}C$ for the $\beta$-Sialon (Z=1)-8wt% Y2O3 composition, but it was not observed up to 1,20$0^{\circ}C$ for the $\beta$-Sialon-8wt% YAG composition which was annealed at 1,40$0^{\circ}C$ for 4 hours in N2 atmosphere. After the $\beta$-Sialon-8wt% YAG composition was annealed, the decrease of fracture toughness was observed.

  • The monolithic dry gels of the Li2O-Al2O3-TiO2-SiO2 system were prepared by the sol-gel technique using metal alkoxides as starting materials to obtain monolithic glass-ceramics at low temperature without melting. Activation energy for the crystal growth of the gel with 6.05% TiO2, nucleating ageng, for the preparation of Li2O-Al2O3-TiO2-SiO2 system glass-ceramic was 101.14kcal/mol. As a result of the analysis of DTA & XRD, it was confirmed that the crytallization of Li2O-Al2O3-TiO2-SiO2 system glass-ceramic was the most efficient when 6.05% TiO2, nucleating agent, was added. $\beta$-eucryptite solid solution crystals and $\beta$-spodumene solid solution crystals were detected in the sample heat treated above 85$0^{\circ}C$. The sintered gel heat treated at 85$0^{\circ}C$ had the specific surface area of 185$m^2$/g, the pore volume of 0.19cc/g and the average pore radius of 20.8$\AA$. This shows that the sintered gel is also comparatively porous material. In temperature range of 25~85$0^{\circ}C$ thermal expansion coefficient of the specimen which was crystallized for 10hrs at 85$0^{\circ}C$ was 6.7$\times$10-7/$^{\circ}C$, which indicated that the crystallized specimen was turned out to be the glass-ceramic with low thermal expansion.

비결정질철산화물 원위치 형성을 통한 비소오염토양 안정화 및 X선 분광분석법의 활용에 대한 연구 (Study on Stabilization of Arsenic in Soil through in situ Formation of Amorphous Fe Oxides and use of X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the in situ formation of amorphous Fe oxides as a stabilization technology in As-contaminated soil. After addition of ferric nitrate and the neutralizing agent, most of extractable fractions of As in soil (i.e., SO42- and PO43--extractable As) was converted into As bound to amorphous Fe oxides. In addition, results of solubility bioavailability research consortium (SBRC) test indicated that a significant amount of As in untreated soil changed to a non-bioaccessible form after stabilization. The reason was attributed to the newly formed amorphous Fe oxides in the stabilized soil, which was confirmed by linear combination of fitting (LCF) using X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) analysis. Interestingly, after five months of aging of the stabilized soil, ferrihydrite and schwertmannite newly formed in the soil were transformed to crystalline Fe oxides such as goethite, and further decrease in SBRC extractable fraction of As was observed. The results suggest that co-precipitated As with amorphous Fe oxides can be further immobilized with time, due to the crystallization of amorphous Fe oxides.

분자량이 메소겐기를 포함한 폴리우레탄의 열적거동에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Molecular Weight on Thermal Behavior of Polyurthanes Containing Mesogen Unit)

  • 유연사슬길이가 6인 4,4'-bis(6-hydroxy hexoxy)biphenyl (BP-6)의 메소겐 디올을 합성하였고, 이것을 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI)와 용액축중합하여 폴리우레탄 (MPU-6)을 합성하였다. 합성된 MPU-6는 $0.23{\sim}0.56 dL/g$의 고유점도를 보였다. MPU-6는 X-ray, 편광현미경으로부터는 액정을 형성할 수 있었으나, DSC로 분석 시에는 액정거동을 관찰할 수 없는 '가상액정'의 거동을 보였다. 또한 MPU-6의 분자량이 낮을수록 결정화 속도와 결정화 온도가 높음을 알 수 있었으며 이는 분자량이 낮을수록 고분자의 mobility가 증가함으로써 메소겐기의 배향이 용이하고, 이것이 기핵으로 작용하였기 때문으로 생각된다.
