38kW, 100000 RPM 고속모터에 대한 포일 가스 베어링 응용 개발 (Application of Foil Gas Bearing to the 38kW, 100000 RPM Class High Speed Motor)

  • Foil gas bearing is a noncontact bearing operated by coupled interaction between hydrodynamic pressure of viscous fluid and elastic deformation of foil structure. It has valuable advantages, such as low power loss, long life, oilless environment and low vibration, over conventional bearings for the high speed applications. A high speed BLDC motor adopting the foil bearing has been developed. It is designed to have 38㎾ power at 100,000 RPM for a cryogenic cooler whose operating fluid is neon. In this paper, structural development details especially for the foil gas bearing and rotordynamics are presented.

  • 천연가스는 $-160^{\circ}C$까지 냉각 및 액화되어 액화천연가스(LNG)가 되고, 이때 LNG의 체적은 천연 가스의 1/600로 줄어든다. 이로 인해 LNG는 수송시에 이점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 천연가스 액화용 초저온 캐스케이드 냉동사이클의 LNG 열교환기내 냉매와 천연가스의 압력강하가 액화사이클에 미치는 영향을 파악한 후, LNG 열교환기 설계시 압력강하에 대한 기준안을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 HYSYS를 이용하여 초저온 캐스케이드 액화사이클 내 LNG 열교환기의 압력강하에 대해서 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 그 결과, 초저온 액화사이클의 압축일량과 성능계수(COP)의 증가로부터, LNG 열교환기 내의 압력강하는 50 kPa정도를 기준 설계 압력강하로 설정할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

고밀도 폴리우레탄 폼의 극저온 성능 분석 (Investigation of the Cryogenic Performance of the High Density Polyurethane Foam)

  • Polyurethane foam insulation required for storing and transporting cryogenic liquefied gas is already widely used as a thermal insulation material for commercial LNG carriers and onshore due to its stable price and high insulation performance. These polyurethane foams are reported to have different mechanical performance depending on the density, and the density parameter is determined depending on the amount of the blowing agent. In this study, density-dependent polyurethane foam was fabricated by adjusting the amount of blowing agent. The mechanical properties of polyurethane foam were analyzed in the room temperature and cryogenic temperature range of -163℃ at 1.5 mm/min, which is a quasi-static load range, and the cells were observed through microstructure analysis. The characteristics of linear elasticity, plateau, and densification, which are quasi-static mechanical behaviors of polyurethane foam, were shown, and the correlation between density and mechanical properties in a cryogenic environment was confirmed. The correlation between mechanical behavior and cell size was also analyzed through SEM morphology analysis. Polyurethane foam with a density of 180 kg/m3 had a density about twice as high as that of a polyurethane foam with a density of 96 kg/m3, but yield strength was about 51% higher and cell size was about 9.5% smaller.

  • 30톤급 터보펌프-가스발생기 연계시험에서 예냉 절차에 대해 분석을 수행하였다. 예냉은 극저온 추진제를 사용하는 액체로켓엔진에서는 시험 전 반드시 수행하여야 하는 절차이다. 예냉을 통해 시험기, 특히 극저온 펌프의 온도를 극저온으로 낮춰 펌프의 공동화 현상, 베어링 부의 파손, 기포에 의한 연소 불안정성의 가능성을 사전에 제거한다. 30톤급 터보펌프-가스발생기 연계시험을 통해 수집한 자료를 분석함으로서 한국형발사체 엔진 개발 시험 시 유용한 자료로 사용하고자 연구를 수행하였으며, 각 주요 부위의 온도, 예냉 수행 시간 등을 파악하였다.

  • 접착제에 의한 접합은 일반적으로 구조물의 접합에 널리 사용되고 있다. 폴리우레탄 접착제와 에폭시 접착제는 현재 극저온에서 운항되고 있는 LNG 선박의 화물창에 적용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 화물창용 소재인 트리플엑스와 폴리우레탄 및 에폭시 접착제와의 상온과 극저온에서의 접착강도를 평가하였다. 연구결과 모든 접착시스템에서 극저온에서 박리강도의 감소가 있었으며 그 원인은 접착제마다 다르게 검토되었다. 결과적으로는 폴리우레탄 접착제와 트리플엑스가 극저온에서의 강도 값이 에폭시에 비해 우수하였으며 LNG 선과 같은 극저온 환경에 접합한 것으로 평가되었다.

액화천연가스 차량용 연료탱크의 진동시험 (A Vibration Test of Fuel Tanks for LNG Vehicles)

  • LNG차량용 초저온 연료탱크의 진동내구성을 검증하기 위해, 고유 진동수를 산출하여 공진여부를 점검하였으며, 진동시험을 수행하였다. 진동시험은 3가지의 양상으로 실시되었는데, 첫째는 초기 가진 주파수를 31.9Hz로 하고, 가진 주파수를 서서히 감소시키면서 시험을 수행하였는데, 가진 주파수가 22.1Hz일 때 파손이 발생하였다. 두 번째는 정지 상태에서 주파수를 증가시키면서 시험을 수행하였는데, 12.7 Hz의 가진 주파수에서 파손이 발생하였고, 질소 가스의 배출이 감지되었다. 세 번째 시험은 가진 주파수를 불규칙하게 연속적으로 변화시키면서 수행하였는데, 가진 주파수가 8 Hz에서 19.3 Hz사이에 있을 때에 진동 포트가 파손되었다. 본 연구에서 감지된 연료탱크의 파손 현상과 진동시험 연구결과가 LNG차량용 초저온 연료탱크의 안전성 제고에 고려되기를 기대한다.

LNG 화물창 정밀 구조해석을 위한 에폭시와 폴리우레탄 접착제 기계적 물성치 분석 (Mechanical Properties Analysis of Epoxy and Polyurethane Adhesive for Accurate Structural Analysis of LNG Cargo Hold)

  • As the demand for natural gas that satisfies environmental regulations increases, the quantities of natural gas cargo that carrier can load is also increasing. Natural gas is transported in a liquefied state at -163 ℃ to increase loading efficiency. Among several LNG CCS types, MARK-III types are generally adopted in terms of loading efficiency. The secondary barrier adhesives of the MARK-III, nevertheless, is subjected to tensile stress due to thermal contraction and tension in the environment. In terms of these reasons, local analysis of the adhesive to evaluate the stress state must be carried out. According to previous studies, local analysis is unavailable since material properties for secondary barrier adhesives have not been reported. Thus, in this study, the cryogenic tensile test and coefficient of thermal expansion of epoxy and polyurethane (PU15, PU45), which are most widely used at cryogenic temperatures, were experimentally analyzed. At cryogenic temperature, the mechanical behavior of the polyurethane adhesive was better than epoxy of the adhesive. the joint of FSB and epoxy adhesive of the secondary barrier has the maximum coefficient of thermal expansion difference at 25 ℃ and minimum at -150 ℃, respectively.

Removal of OH Spectral Interferences from Aqueous Solvents in Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectrometry (ICP-AES) with Ar Cryogenic Desolvation

  • The spectral interferences of OH from aqueous solvents in ICP-AES have been studied and eliminated using a cryogenic argon trap. The prominent lines of Bi I 306.772 nm, Al I 309.271 nm, and V II 310.230 nm, which are very seriously overlapped with the OH band, were examined. With an extended torch and high tangential flow of 20 L/min, water vapor from air entrainment was prevented. The combination of a condenser and argon cryogenic trap was able to eliminated most of water vapor carried by the argon sample gas. Removal of OH spectral interference could extend the linearity of the calibration curve 5-10 times on the lower concentration for ICP-AES. Interference Equivalent Concentration (IEC) has been reduced to 5.6, 5.9, and 12.4 times for Bi, Al and V, respectively.

고압 LNG 펌프의 이상 진동 진단 (Abnormal Vibration Diagnosis of High Pressure LNG Pump)

  • Liquefied natural gas takes up six hundredths of the volume of natural gas, which makes storage and transportation much easier. To send out natural gas via a pipeline network across the nation, high-pressure LNG pumps supply highly compressed LNG to high-pressure vaporization facilities. The Number of high-pressure LNG pumps determined the send-out amount in LNG receiving terminal. So it is main equipment at LNG production process and should be maintained on best conditions. In this paper, to find out the cause of high beat vibration at cryogenic pumps, vibration and motor current signal analysis have been performed. High vibration of cryogenic pumps could be reduced due to the modification of motor rotor.
