Current Limiting and Interrupting Operation of Hybrid Self-Excited Type Superconducting DCCB

  • Currently, the development of industry makes needs larger electric supply. Providers must consider the efficiency about losses and reliability of the system. In this case, DC power system can save electrical energy; long-distance transmission line losses. Relevance to switch technology with a voltage-source converter (VSC) in AC-DC conversion system have been researched. But, protection device of DC-link against fault current is still needed to study much. VSC DC power system is vulnerable to DC-cable short-circuit and ground faults, because DC-link has a huge size of capacitor filter which releases extremely large current during DC faults. Furthermore, DC has a fatal flaw that current zero crossing is nonexistence. To interrupt the DC, several methods which make a zero crossing is used; parallel connecting self-excited series LC circuit with main switch, LC circuit with power electronic device called hybrid DC circuit breaker. Meanwhile, self-excited oscillator needs a huge size capacitor that produces big oscillation current which makes zero crossing. This capacitor has a quite effective on the price of DCCB. In this paper, hybrid self-excited type superconducting DCCB which are using AC circuit breaker system is studied by simulation tool PSCAD/EMTDC.

Improvement of inspection system for common crossings by track side monitoring and prognostics

  • Scheduled inspections of common crossings are one of the main cost drivers of railway maintenance. Prognostics and health management (PHM) approach and modern monitoring means offer many possibilities in the optimization of inspections and maintenance. The present paper deals with data driven prognosis of the common crossing remaining useful life (RUL) that is based on an inertial monitoring system. The problem of scheduled inspections system for common crossings is outlined and analysed. The proposed analysis of inertial signals with the maximal overlap discrete wavelet packet transform (MODWPT) and Shannon entropy (SE) estimates enable to extract the spectral features. The relevant features for the acceleration components are selected with application of Lasso (Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator) regularization. The features are fused with time domain information about the longitudinal position of wheels impact and train velocities by multivariate regression. The fused structural health (SH) indicator has a significant correlation to the lifetime of crossing. The RUL prognosis is performed on the linear degradation stochastic model with recursive Bayesian update. Prognosis testing metrics show the promising results for common crossing inspection scheduling improvement.

Comparison the Muscle Activation in the Trunk and Lower Limbs of Subjects Wearing High-Heeled or Flat Shoes While Crossing Over Obstacles of Different Heights

  • PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to compare muscle activation of the trunk and lower limbs of subjects wearing high-heeled or flat shoes while crossing over obstacles of different heights. METHODS: Twenty subjects participated in this study. While wearing high-heeled shoes (7 cm) or flat shoes (0 cm), the subjects were asked to cross over obstacles of different heights (10%, 20%, and 30% of their lower-limb length). Muscle activation of the trunk and lower limbs with the supported side while crossing over obstacles of different heights was measured using the electromyogram (Noraxon, DTS, Germany). Two-way repeated ANOVA was used to compare the muscle activation between high-heel shoes and flat shoes while crossing over obstacles of different heights. All statistical analyses were performed using SPSS ver. 21, and p-values less than .05 were used to identify significant differences. RESULTS: As an obstacle's height increased, muscle activation of the trunk and lower limbs with the supported side was increased while wearing either type of shoe, and it was generally higher while wearing high-heeled shoes. However, tibialis anterior muscle activity while wearing high-heeled shoes was lower than while wearing flat shoes. CONCLUSION: This study showed that muscle activation of the trunk and lower limbs was higher when subjects wore high-heeled shoes than when they wore flat shoes while crossing over obstacles of different heights. Therefore, high-heeled shoes can easily cause high muscle fatigue of the trunk and lower limbs, and the TA muscle may weaken in persons who wear high-heeled shoes.

유한한 Bandwidth를 갖는 비선형 불규칙 파열에서의 Threshold Crossing Rate, 위상분포와 파군특성 (Threshold Crossing Rate, Phase Distribution and Group Properties of Nonlinear Random Waves of finite Bandwidth)

  • 부체의 장주기동요, 연안구조물과 계류선의 파괴 등과 같은 역기능으로 인해 파군현상의 정확한 해석은 시급한 과제라 하겠다. 본고에서는 연안계에서 발생하는 파랑과 가장 근접한 비선형불규칙 파랑계를 산정하여 해안구조물의 피로거동에 지대한 영향을 미치는 파군당 파랑의 수와 해안구조물의 first excursion failure mode를 결정하는 high run에서의 파랑수를 중심으로 파군현상을 해석하였다. 해석과정에 mapping technique과 유의파경사를 perturbation parameter로 섭동이론이 사용되었다. 해석결과 Gaussian wave계에서 균등분포하는 것으로 알려진 위상함수는 평균값 주위에 집중분포하였고, 그 정도는 비선형성이 증가할수록 심화되었다. threshold crossing rate의 경우 비선형성이 심화될수록 평균해수위보다 큰 쪽으로 분포형이 이동하였으며 파군당 파랑수와 high run에서의 파랑수도 비슷한 경향을 보여 최근 설치범위가 심해쪽으로 확대되는 해안구조믈의 경우 피로거동에 대한 보강이 요만된다.

Heterosis Effects of Body Weight and Jumping Height in Rotational Crossing of Two-Subspecies of Mice

  • The present study was conducted to evaluate heterosis effects of body weight and jumping height for successive generations of rotational crossing using two subspecies of mice which are very different in body weight and in genetic relationship from each other. Domesticated laboratory mouse $CF_{{\sharp}1}$ (C) and Yonakuni wild mouse (Y) were used as materials. Two groups of rotational crossing was made according to the parent used at the beginning of crosses, C male$\times$Y female and Y male$\times$C female. These crosses were done to produce the first ($G_1$ and $G_1{^{\prime}}$), second ($G_2$ and $G_2{^{\prime}}$) and third generations ($G_3$ and $G_3{^{\prime}}$) with sire used was alternated. Individual body weights were weighed at 1 (wk1), 3 (wk3), 6 (wk6) and 10 weeks of age (wk10) and jumping heights were measured at six weeks of age (wk6). Only the first litter used. For body weight, results of this study showed that genetic group effects were significant (p<0.01) source of variation at all ages studied. Sex effects were significant (p<0.01) at wk3, wk6 and wk10, but not at wk1. Significant interaction effects (p<0.01) between genetic group and sex were found at wk6 and wk10. The C mice with large maternal effects produced heavier offspring body weight and crosses using sire of this subspecies maintained heavy weight compared to wild Y mouse sire that has small body size. Heterosis tended to exist at the rotational crossing started from Y male C female. For jumping height, effects of genetic group and sex were significant, sire and dam effects (heterosis) exhibited from the first to third generations, and no maternal effects were observed.

Zero-Crossing 복조기를 위한 $0.5{\mu}m$ CMOS FM 라디오 수신기 (A $0.5{\mu}m$ CMOS FM Radio Receiver For Zero-Crossing Demodulator)

  • 본 논문에서는 Zero-Crossing 복조기에 적합한 88MHz에서 108MHz 대역 FM 라디오 수신기를 $0.5{\mu}m$ CMOS 공정을 이용하여 설계 및 제작하였다. 본 수신기는 Low-IF 구조를 기초로 설계되었으며, Low-Noise Amplifier (LNA), Down-Conversion Mixer, Phase locked loop (PLL), Low-pass filter (LPF), 비교기를 포함하는 RF/Analog 집적회로로 개발되었다. 측정결과 LNA와 Mixer를 포함하는 RF Block은 23.2dB의 변환 이득과 입력 PldB는 -14dBm였고 전체 잡음지수는 15 dB로 나타났다. IF단 LPF와 비교기를 포함하는 Analog Block은 89dB 이상의 전압 이득을 가지고, IC내부의 레지스터를 제어하여 600KHz에서 1.3MHz까지 100KHz 단위로 Passband 대역를 조절할 수 있도록 설계되었다. 설계된 수신기는 4.5V에서 동작하며, 전체 전류 소모는 15.3 mA로 68.85mW의 전력을 소모한다. 실험결과 성공적으로 FM 라디오 신호를 수신할 수 있었다.

  • 자전거 교통사고는 이용수요의 증대와 더불어 지속적으로 증가하고 있는 추세이며, 기존 교통사고 자료를 통해 자전거 교통사고의 특성을 살펴보면 사고발생 지점은 주로 교차로 내부이며, 사고형태는 측면직각충돌사고가 빈번한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 교차로 내에서 발생되는 우회전차량과 횡단자전거 간의 상충위험성이 발생하는 원인으로 우회전차량 운전자의 주위확인행태와 차량속도로 가정하고 시뮬레이션 분석을 이용하여 그 위험성을 제기하고자 한다. 연구 결과 우회전차량의 주행속도가 낮을수록, 또한 운전자가 고개를 돌려 적극적으로 우측 후방을 확인할수록 상충위험성은 감소하는 것으로 나타났다.

철도건널목 지장물·진입위반차량 검지시스템 및 4분할 차단 알고리즘 개발 (Development of Algorithms for Four-quadrant Gate System and Obstacle Detection Systems at Crossings)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내 철도건널목의 지장물 검지 시스템 및 차단제어 시스템의 운영현황을 살펴봄으로써 기존 시스템의 문제점을 보완할 수 있는 새로운 건널목 제어시스템 및 알고리즘을 제시한다. 국내 건널목 제어시스템의 경우 차량 및 지장물 검지를 통해 단순 입구측 및 출구측을 제어하는 방식으로서 도로 교통과는 연계를 하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 또한 검지시스템과 차단시스템의 신호연계체계의 미비로 인하여 비효율적이며 안전성이 결여된 건널목 운영을 보이고 있다. 본 연구에서는 보다 효율적인 건널목 운영을 위하여 지자계 검지센서와 레이저 검지센서를 통합한 철도 건널목 지장물 진입위반차량 검지시스템과 4분할차단기 알고리즘을 제시하였고, 현장시험을 통하여 본 연구에서 제시한 알고리즘의 신뢰성을 검증하였다. 그 결과 본 연구에서 개발되어진 시스템들은 철도 건널목 제어기기들간의 상호연계가 가능하며, 동시에 차량운전자의 운행 형태를 고려한 차단제어 방식으로 열차와의 충돌사고를 예방할 수 있으리라 기대되어진다.

공침법을 이용한 PbTiO3-Polymer O-3 압전 Composites (Performance Improvement on Cycloconverter-fed Induction Motor Speed Control System)

  • The cycloconverter operating on a circulating current-free mode has many zero crossing points. If an exact zero crossing points are not detected, the three phase-unbalanced currents will flow in a motor. In this paper, the current feedback using a current reference wave is proposed to improve the problems of zero crossing detection, three phase-unbalanced voltages, currents, and torgue ripples. To prevent the saturation of the air gap flux and keep the torque constant, the constant voltage / hertz control with IR compensation is adopted. The PI-controller is designed using the linearized model of the cycloconverterinduction motor system. Alsi, Z-80A single board computer has been used to implement the proposed scheme which results in the performance improvement of cycloconterter-fed induction motor speed control system.

  • We generalize some of the congruences in [20] to periodic knotted trivalent graphs. As an application, a criterion derived from one of these congruences is used to obstruct periodicity of links of few crossings for the odd primes p = 3, 5, 7, and 11. Moreover, we derive a new criterion of periodic links. In particular, we give a sufficient condition for the period to divide the crossing number. This gives some progress toward solving the well-known conjecture that the period divides the crossing number in the case of alternating links.
