Purpose : Energy bars are increasingly popular among active individuals, yet their timing and nutrient combinations' impact on exercise adaptation remains unclear. This study aims to address this knowledge gap by investigating whether the combination of pre- and post-workout supplementation can synergistically enhance fitness and alleviate fatigue in trained CrossFit participants. Investigate if combining pre- and post-workout supplements can enhance fitness and blood lactate management in trained CrossFit participants, potentially improving exercise performance for this group. Methods : In a randomized crossover study, 20 trained CrossFit individuals (11 males, 9 females) completed thrice-weekly 60-minute CrossFit sessions for 3 weeks, with a one-week washout period. Participants were randomly assigned to either a chocolate bar group (CH, 45 g, 225 kcal) or an energy bar group (ES, 48 g, 238 kcal, with protein, caffeine, taurine, and BCAAs). For one week, participants consumed two bars of their assigned supplement five minutes before and after workouts. After a washout period, they switched supplements. Blood lactate levels and a visual analog scale (VAS) were assessed before, immediately after, and 30 minutes post-workout. Fitness tests (hand grip, broad jump, sit-ups) were conducted at baseline and 30 minutes post-final workout. Data were analyzed using two-way repeated measures ANOVA (p<.05), 95 % confidence intervals, and magnitude inferences. Results : Hand grip strength (t=-5.60, p=.000), broad jump (t=-3.43, p=.003) and sit up (t=-3.94, p=.001) were significantly increased in the ES group. Compared to CH group, there was a significant time and group interactions for blood lactate level (F=5.51, p=.008) and VAS(F=31.67, p=.000) in the ES group. Conclusion : Pre- and post-workout energy bar supplementation may have a beneficial effect on blood lactate clearance and fitness in trained CrossFit individual. The combination of proprietary supplements taken may provide benefits for removing the blood lactate during high-intensity functional exercise.
Purpose: Due to the high incidence of shoulder injuries, including shoulder impingement syndrome (SIS), among CrossFit practitioners due to frequent overhead movements, serratus anterior exercises are considered crucial for scapular stabilization in both intervention and prevention. Objective: The objective of this study is to compare the muscle activity and ratios of scapular stabilizing and shoulder girdle muscles between individuals with and without SIS during serratus punch and wall slide exercises, both targeting the serratus anterior muscle, in CrossFit training practitioners. Methods: Surface electromyography was used to compare the muscle activity and activity ratio of scapular stabilizing muscles and shoulder muscles during serratus punch and wall slide exercises in two groups of 20 CrossFit practitioners: ten with SIS and ten without symptoms. Results: The group with SIS showed higher activation of the pectoralis major, upper trapezius, and a higher pectoralis major/serratus anterior and upper trapezius/serratus anterior muscle activation ratio during the serratus punch exercise compared to the group without SIS. Similarly, during the wall slide exercise, the group with SIS exhibited higher activation of the upper trapezius and a higher upper trapezius/serratus anterior muscle activation ratio compared to the group without SIS. However, no significant difference in serratus anterior muscle activation was observed between the two groups. Conclusions: This study highlights the higher activation of the pectoralis major and upper trapezius muscles in CrossFit practitioners with SIS during the serratus anterior exercise, suggesting the importance of minimizing the overactivation of these muscles to prevent impingement syndrome in this population.

This paper deals with shrink fit analysis of rotor by 2D cross-section, 2D axis-symmetry, and 3D FEM model. And this paper presents 2nd order approximation function of thermal expansion displacement by design variables (shape dimension, heating temperature, sleeve length, interference etc.), table of orthogonal array and RSM(response surface methodology). The possibility of the rotor with shrink fit is evaluated by thermal expansion displacement. If thermal expansion displacement is larger than interference, shrink fit enable to make the rotor. 2D axis-symmetry model and 3D model are more reasonable than 2D cross-section model, because stress and strain is different along length of shaft.

Image processing was used to recognize parts at various disposition. Non-transpatent tachometer panel for automobile and semi-transparent panel have been used as test specimen. Laplacian filter and various threshold values have been applied for preprocessing and edge following algorithm has been applied. Series of length data between edges have been generated from each image and compared using cross correlation coefficient. The result using cross correlation coefficient. The result using both edge following and cross correlation coefficient was proven to be the best fit for the proposed parts.

The chi-square type test statistic is the most commonly used test in terms of measuring testing goodness-of-fit for multinomial logistic regression model, which has its grouped data (binomial data) and ungrouped (binary) data classified by a covariate pattern. Chi-square type statistic is not a satisfactory gauge, however, because the ungrouped Pearson chi-square statistic does not adhere well to the chi-square statistic and the ungrouped Pearson chi-square statistic is also not a satisfactory form of measurement in itself. Currently, goodness-of-fit in the ordinal setting is often assessed using the Pearson chi-square statistic and deviance tests. These tests involve creating a contingency table in which rows consist of all possible cross-classifications of the model covariates, and columns consist of the levels of the ordinal response. I examined goodness-of-fit tests for a proportional odds logistic regression model-the most commonly used regression model for an ordinal response variable. Using a simulation study, I investigated the distribution and power properties of this test and compared these with those of three other goodness-of-fit tests. The new test had lower power than the existing tests; however, it was able to detect a greater number of the different types of lack of fit considered in this study. I illustrated the ability of the tests to detect lack of fit using a study of aftercare decisions for psychiatrically hospitalized adolescents.

This study is designed to develop programs that analyze the distance of clothes from human skin and cross-sectional body figures based on 3D human body scan data, and to verify accuracy and efficiency of the program so that it can be used for clothing fit evaluation and 3D human body research. The auto cross-sectional imaging program was developed by using Visual C++ and OpenGL, and the 3D human body scan data were adopted to measure the space between skin and clothing. The space measurements were obtained by two widely used programs, RapidForm and AutoCAD, and a program devised by the researchers of this study. Measuring time and space measurements from different programs were compared in order to verify accuracy and efficiency of the newly-devised program. As a result, no significant difference was found in the measurements. However, the required time to measure one cross section was different within the significance level of 0.05, and the differences become more remarkable as the number of measuring and the angle of space between skin and clothing increase. Therefore, the program developed by this study is expected to be useful for research on body shapes and fit evaluation based on 3D human body scan data in the fashion field.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the adaptation of lithium disilicate crowns fabricated by CAD-CAM (computer aided design-computer aided manufacturing) and heat-press technique to compare two different measurement methods in assessing fit of the ceramic crowns: micro CT and cross-section technique. Materials and methods: A prepared typodont mandibular molar for ceramic crown was duplicated and ten dies were produced by milling the PMMA (polymethylmethacrylate) resin. Ten vinyl polysiloxane impressions were made and stone casts were produced. Five dies were used for IPS e.max Press crowns with heat-press technique. The other five dies were used for IPS e.max CAD crowns with CAD-CAM technique. Ten lithium disilicate crowns were cemented on the resin dies using zinc phosphate cement with finger pressure. The marginal and internal fits in central buccolingual plane were evaluated using a micro CT. Then the specimens were embedded and cross-sectioned and the marginal and internal fits were measured using scanning electronic microscope. The two measurement methods and two manufacturing methods were compared using Mann-Whitney U test (SPSS 22.0). Results: The marginal and internal fit values using micro CT and cross-section technique were similar, showing no significant differences. There were no significant differences in adaptation between lithium disilicate crowns fabricated with CAD-CAM and heat-press technique. Conclusion: Both micro CT and cross-section technique were acceptable methods in the evaluation of marginal and internal fit of lithium disilicate crown. There was no difference in adaptation between lithium disilicate crowns fabricated with CAD-CAM and heat-press technique except occlusal fit.

The Pearson chi-squared statistic or the deviance statistic is widely used in assessing the goodness-of-fit of the generalized linear models. But these statistics are not proper in the situation of continuous explanatory variables which results in the sparseness of cell frequencies. We propose a goodness-of-fit test statistic for the cumulative logit models with ordinal responses. We consider the grouping of a dataset based on the ordinal scores obtained by fitting the assumed model. We propose the Pearson chi-squared type test statistic, which is obtained from the cross-classified table formed by the subgroups of ordinal scores and the response categories. Because the limiting distribution of the chi-squared type statistic is intractable we suggest the parametric bootstrap testing procedure to approximate the distribution of the proposed test statistic.

Clinically, the fit of fixed prosthesis is an essential element for successful restoration. The fit of prosthesis is largely classified into marginal fit and internal fit, and various methods to assess these have been introduced including microscopic margin measurement, cross-sectional measurement, silicone replica technique, 3-dimensional scanning data superposition, weight technique and micro CT scanning. Thus, this study is aimed at proposing a more convenient and accurate measurement method of fits in a digital environment by comparatively analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of each known method based on existing literature.
