This cross-sectional design study was undertaken to determine the factors associated with suicidal ideation in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected older adults. Data from a city-wide representative sample collected by the Seoul Metropolitan Government were used. The cross-sectional survey was conducted between February and March 2013. Participants selected and included in the analysis were HIV-infected adults living in Seoul, and aged 50 years and older. The overall adjusted model showed that being unemployed (adjusted odds ratio [aOR], 3.34; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.16-9.57), a history of depression treatment (aOR, 4.61; 95% CI, 1.02-20.66), perceived belongingness (aOR, 0.63; 95% CI, 0.41-0.99), and psychological functioning (aOR, 0.85; 95% CI, 0.73-0.99) were significantly related to suicidal ideation. Psychosocial features were found to be strongly associated with suicidal ideation among HIV-infected older adults. The findings could be useful for HIV nursing consultants to identify HIV-infected older adults who are vulnerable to suicidal ideation. Comprehensive mental health services should be provided as coping resources for HIV-infected older adults who have suicidal ideation.

Background: Identifying and managing osteoporosis among cancer survivors is an important issue, yet little is known about the bone health of cancer survivors in Korea. This study was designed to measure the prevalence of osteoporosis and to assess related factors among Korean cancer survivors. Materials and Methods: This study was designed as a cross-sectional analysis. Data were obtained from dual energy X-ray absorptiometry measurement of the lumbar vertebrae and femoral neck, and from standardized questionnaires among 556 cancer survivors and 17,623 non-cancer controls who participated in the Fourth and Fifth Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (2008-2011). We calculated adjusted proportions of osteoporosis in non-cancer controls vs. cancer survivors, and we performed multivariate logistic regression analysis. Results: The prevalence of osteoporosis among cancer survivors was significant higher than that of the non-cancer controls after adjusting for related factors. Furthermore, osteoporosis among cancer survivors was higher in elderly subjects (60-69 years : adjusted odds ratio (aOR) 3.04, 95% CI : 1.16-8.00, ${\geq}70$ years : aOR 6.60, 95% CI 2.20-19.79), in female cancer survivors (aOR: 7.03, 95% CI: 1.88-26.28), and in a group with lower monthly income (aOR: 3.38, 95% CI: 1.31-8.71). In male cancer survivors, underweight and lower calcium intake were risk factors. Conclusions: These data suggest that the osteoporosis among cancer survivors varies according to non-oncologic and oncologic factors. Effective screening should be applied, and a sufficient and comprehensive management should be matched to individual cancer survivors early after cancer treatment.

This study was a cross-sectional reaserch that analyzed the factors that most affect COVID-19 knowledge in nursing college students who are relatively at high risk for recent prevalence of COVID-19 exposure in relation to clinical practice of nursing college students. A total of 249 nursing students participated in this study, 93 male students and 156 female students. The period for collecting data from structured questionnaires was from October 1 to October 20, 2021. The collected data were frequency analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, simple regression analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis using SPSS 18.0. As a result of the analysis, infection prevention behavior(𝛽=0.06, p=0.006) had the most influence on COVID-19 knowledge, and the second was professional intuition(𝛽=-.162, p=0.018). Based on the results of this study, in order to improve the knowledge of COVID-19 among nursing students, it is proposed to develop an infection prevention behavior education program and a professional intuition improvement program.
Purpose: This study investigated Korean healthcare providers' attitudes toward sexual and gender minority (SGM) persons and their knowledge and behavior concerning the collection of data on sexual orientation and gender identity (SO/GI). Methods: In this cross-sectional, descriptive study, 137 Korean healthcare providers were recruited through convenience sampling from internet communities for medical professionals. A structured questionnaire was created using Google Surveys. The Mann-Whitney U-test, Kruskal-Wallis test, and Spearman correlation analysis were performed. Results: The sample was mostly women (80.3%) and nurses (83.9%), who had overall negative attitudes toward SGM persons and low levels of knowledge and behavior with regard to the collection of patients' SO/GI data. Participants in their 20s, who were religious, and had clinical experiences in treating or providing nursing care for SGM persons had higher levels of knowledge about the collection of SO/GI data. The level of engagement in collecting SO/GI data was higher among women and in their 20s and 30s, unreligious participants, nurses, and those with less than 10 years of clinical experience. Positive attitudes toward SGM persons were associated with higher levels of knowledge, but lower levels of behavior, regarding the collection of SO/GI data. Conclusion: It is important to recognize the diversity of patients' SO/GI and to collect the corresponding information. To this end, it is necessary to develop and use a standardized SO/GI form. Healthcare providers should also receive education and training related to the health of SGM persons to resolve health problems that disproportionately affect SGM persons and related health disparities.

This study proposes generalized models of joint latent class analysis (JLCA) for longitudinal data in two approaches, a JLCA with latent profile (JLCPA) and a JLCA with latent transition (JLTA). Our models reflect cross-sectional as well as longitudinal dependence among multiple latent classes and track multiple class-sequences over time. For the identifiability and meaningful inference, EM algorithm produces maximum-likelihood estimates under local independence assumptions. As an empirical analysis, we apply our models to track the joint patterns of adolescent depression and anxiety among US adolescents and show that both JLCPA and JLTA identify three adolescent emotional well-being subgroups. In addition, JLCPA classifies two representative profiles for these emotional well-being subgroups across time, and these profiles have different tendencies according to the parent-adolescent-relationship subgroups.
This paper is studied in order to examine eight provinces as Agricultural zone in the early Chosun-Dynasty. The research method of this study depends on discriminant analysis. The research data is obtained from geography of Sejong sillok. In this approach, we believe the possibility of more scientific analysis of agricultural zone. So all cross-sectional data of this period were analysed by means of the discriminant analysis method. In the discriminant analysis of the eight provinces, 54.6% of the country were discriminated. In the territorial map, Kyongsang and Cholla were crossly adjoined and Chungcheong was located in the middle of them. While, Kyonggky and Hwanghae were adjoined in the center, and Pyongan and Hamgil were crossly adjoined, too. And Kangwon was located in the middle of them. Consequently their regional distribution varied widely and the agriculture of this period had considerable regional gaps.
This study deals with the accident model using panel data which are composed of time series data of 2005 through 2007 and cross sectional data of link sections in Cheongju. Panel data are repeatedly collected over time from the same sample. The purpose of the study is to develop the traffic accident model using the above panel data. In pursuing the above, this study gives particular attentions to deriving the optimal models among various models including TSCSREG (Time Series Cross Section Regression). The main results are as follows. First, 8 panel data models which explained the various effects of accidents were developed. Second, $R^2$ values of fixed effect models were analyzed to be higher than those of random effect models. Finally, such the variables as the sum of the number of crosswalk on intersections and sum of the number of intersections were analyzed to be positive to the accidents.
Background: We conducted a cross-sectional study of residents within and outside Fukushima Prefecture to clarify their perceptions of the need for smartphone applications (apps) for explaining exposure doses. The results will lead to more effective methods for identifying target groups for future app development by researchers and municipalities, which will promote residents' understanding of radiological situations. Materials and Methods: In November 2019, 400 people in Fukushima Prefecture and 400 people outside were surveyed via a web-based questionnaire. In addition to basic characteristics, survey items included concerns about radiation levels and intention to use a smartphone app to keep track of exposure. The analysis was conducted by stratifying responses in each region and then cross-tabulating responses to concerns about radiation levels and intention to use an app by demographic variables. The intention to use an app was analyzed by binomial logistic regression analysis. Text-mining analyses were conducted in KH Coder software. Results and Discussion: Outside Fukushima Prefecture, concerns about the medical exposure of women to radiation exceeded 30%. Within the prefecture, the medical exposure of women, purchasing food products, and consumption of own-grown food were the main concerns. Within the prefecture, having children under the age of 18, the experience of measurement, and having experience of evacuation were significantly related to the intention to use an app. Conclusion: Regional and individual differences were evident. Since respondents differ, it is necessary to develop and promote app use in accordance with their needs and with phases of reconstruction. We expect that a suitable app will not only collect data but also connect local service providers and residents, while protecting personal information.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors influencing the health-promoting behaviors of the people living with HIV. Methods: Descriptive cross-sectional study design was used. The study participants included 99 people living with HIV recruited via the Korea HIV/AIDS Network of Solidarity from May 15 to August 15, 2012. Self-report questionnaires were used fo data collection measuring perceived stress, depression, self-efficacy, health-promoting behaviors (HPLP-II), and the perceived health status. The analysis was done using SPSS/Win 18.0 program. Descriptive statistics, pearson correlation, t-test, ANOVA and stepwise multiple regressions were used for data analysis. Results: Perceived stress (r=-.21, p=.040), depression (r=-.37, p<.001), self-efficacy (r=.42, p<.001), perceived health status (r=.29, p=.003), and health-promoting behaviors were significantly correlated with each other. The self-efficacy, religion and perceived health status were significant factors, which explained about 26% of the variance of the health-promoting behaviors. Multiple regression analysis showed that a powerful predictor of health-promoting behaviors among people living with HIV was self-efficacy. Conclusion: This study suggested that a focus of nursing intervention program on self-efficacy is necessary in order to increase health-promoting behaviors among people living with HIV.
Purpose - This study examines whether flight-to-liquidity (FTL) explains the dynamic liquidity risk on stock returns, and whether it has a significant influence on determinants the cross-section of stock returns. Design/methodology/approach - This study suggests a new risk factor, dynamic liquidity hedge portfolio (DLP), to reflect the dynamic impact of liquidity risk on stock returns and the Fama-MacBeth 2 stage regression analysis is employed in order to analyze the data. Findings - First, the DLP factor shows more positive and significant beta for the small or illiquidity stocks. Second, the DLP shows a different influence than SMB (size risk factor), HML (value risk factor), NMP (liquidity risk factor), FTVOL (total volatility factor) in determining the cross-section of stock returns. In addition, the DLP has a statistically significant risk premium of around 5%, which is relatively larger than other risk factors. Research implications or Originality - This study has academic value in terms of newly confirming that the DLP factor has a more significant impact on cross-sectional determination of stock returns than other risk factors by proposing a conditional liquidity factor that can explain the FTL phenomenon.
