Web Cross Browsing of Korean Enterprises and Public Institutions According to International Guidelines (국제 표준을 통해 살펴 본 한국 기업과 공공기관의 웹사이트 호환성)

  • Korea is one of the most advanced countries in the world in terms of information technologies (IT) applications and usages. However, its web browser market is so dominated by one company, and its web cross browsing according to international guidelines isquestioned. In this research, we have empirically examined web cross browsing of web sites of major companies and pubic institutions in Korea through different web browsers which conform international guidelines. In general, web cross browsing through Firefox was lower by 19% than that through Internet Explorer. Web cross browsing of public institutions was better than that of companies, and financial institutions were the worst. Typical cross browsing problems found with Firefox were inability to pay online, failure to play multimedia contents, and frame display errors. Causes of web cross browsing problems and suggestions for improving cross browsing are discussed.

Design and Implementation of JQuery-based Handwritten Signature System for Cross-Browsing (크로스 웹 브라우징을 위한 JQuery기반 자필 서명 시스템의 설계 및 구현)

  • Recently that require digital signatures handwritten for personal use customer information and agree to the Terms of Service agreement or a general sign up. Signature system including an existing handwritten signature are a problem, which may be a platform-dependent, as well as the environment in which to perform the signature vary according to device Status of presence because it is being utilized is implemented on the service platform itself within each company. In this paper, we designed and implemented an integrated system handwritten signature as possible using a cross-browser way to store the handwritten two-dimensional coordinates based on the jQuery it is interspecific directly integrated browser environment. iOS, Android, was tested in an integrated web browser in heterogeneous environments, including PC, it was confirmed that all handwritten signature function is working properly.

  • Analyzing protein-protein interactions(PPI) is an important task in bioinformatics as it can help in new drugs' discovery process. However, due to vast amount of PPI data and their complexity, efficient visualization of the data is still remained as a challenging problem. We have developed efficient and effective visualization system that integrates Gene Ontology(GO) and PPI network to provide better insights to scientists. To provide efficient data visualization, we have employed dynamic interactive graph drawing methods and context-based browsing strategy. In addition, quick and flexible cross-reference system between GO and PPI; LCA(Least Common Ancestor) finding for GO; and etc are supported as special features. In terms of interface, our visualization system provides two separate graphical windows side-by-side for GO graphs and PPI network, and also provides cross-reference functions between them.

  • Purpose: To manage radiation measurement equipment, a web-based management program has been developed in this study. Materials and Methods: This program is based on a web service and Java Server Pages (JSP) and employs compatibility and accessibility. Results: The first step in the workflow has been designed to create accounts for each user or organization and to log in. The program consists of two parts: fields for listed instruments, and measurement information. The instruments for measuring radiation listed in this program are as follows: ionization chambers, survey meters, thermometers, barometers, electrometers, and phantoms. Instrument properties can be put in the recording fields and browsing for associated instruments can be performed. The main part of the program is the cross-calibration for each ion chamber. For instance, the ionization chamber to be used as a relative dosimeter can be registered by cross-calibration data with a reference chamber calibrated by an accredited laboratory. This program supports methods using the central axis transfer theory for cross-calibration for the ionization chambers. The reference and field ionization chambers were placed in a solid water phantom along the beam central axis at two different depths, and then the positions were switched. Each measured value was used for calculating the cross-calibration factor. Conclusions: Because many instruments are used and managed in radiation oncology departments, systematic, traceable recording is very important. The web-based program developed in this study is expected to be used effectively in the maintenance of radiation measurement instruments.

  • The purpose of this paper is to propose a powerful alternative in designing knowledge portals using Topic Maps(TM). All information is processing for one topic, about each topics define to association and composite flow of information. and all topics about add occurrence to use in the OpenAPI. Also represent to UI of graphic for intuitional representation, and using JavaScript for Cross-Browsing. so that not using XTM of a standard Topic Maps(TM) and using JSON for a simple represent to data. The results made for intuitional process UI and extensive limits to display for new information before until now musician search system. In future positive to musician search for music.

  • Keyword extraction is an important and essential technique for text mining applications such as information retrieval, text categorization, summarization and topic detection. A set of keywords extracted from a large-scale electronic document data are used for significant features for text mining algorithms and they contribute to improve the performance of document browsing, topic detection, and automated text classification. This paper presents a keyword extraction technique that can be used to detect topics for each news domain from a large document collection of internet news portal sites. Basically, we have used six variants of traditional TF-IDF weighting model. On top of the TF-IDF model, we propose a word filtering technique called 'cross-domain comparison filtering'. To prove effectiveness of our method, we have analyzed usefulness of keywords extracted from Korean news articles and have presented changes of the keywords over time of each news domain.

Cultural Differences of Choice on Interaction Problem (인터랙션 문제에 대한 선택의 문화적 차이)

  • This study is aimed to compare choices on interaction problems, and to consider the reason of the choices. It was expected that the interaction problems are influenced from national culture, age, gender and so on. The first interaction problem in this study is default answer button when user operates to delete all messages on SMS in-box. Second one is action when pop-p window warning dangerousness of install showed on web browsing. The third one is type(analog/digital) and information expression of control panel on soup maker. 639 Korean data and 784 data from China, Japan and the Netherlands are analyzed through cross-tabulation and chi-square test. In the results, many Japanese choose 'No' answer at SMS delete problem, while many Dutch choose 'Yes'. The result suggests that uncertainty avoidance effect on interaction problems. On warning pop-up, Younger generation and men choose actively 'install' than older one and women. On type of control panel, Dutch subjects preferred analog type than other countries' subjects. On expression of control panel, older generation and individualistic subjects relatively preferred text style than other style.

  • This paper presents a L3 mobile terminal platform of the mobile terminal system which is a subsystem of HMm(Hig-speed Mobile Multimedia) system, which layer 3 control protocols such as RC(Radio Control), SC(Session Control), MC(Mobility Control) and application services such as VOD, FTP, VoIP for a multimedia mobile terminal are implemented on. The hardware platform is based on PXA255 and supports various interfaces and multimedia devices, and under the platform, an embedded Linux generated by the self-maden cross-toolchain, L3 control protocols and application programs were installed. The operation of HMm system under the HMm testbed has shown that this platform successfully supported SIP services, web browsing services, streaming services and etc as well as call processing. It could be the reference of the upcoming Fourth-Generation mobile terminal which the multimedia functionality will be enforced.

  • The user interface is the medium, which provides the users to have an access to the web-based information system. The user interface is the means of improving usability and accessibility for the user, as well as being the core component in the web-based information system. In this paper, the audit framework of the user interface was developed to upgrade the usability and accessibility; it was based on the three basic components of the current audit framework in the web-based information system. At the time of an audit, the UI process of the 'Analysis', 'UI Design', 'UI Production', and 'Test' was defined, which was analyzed through the web development methodology. Also, for the area of an audit, the 'Information', 'Design', and 'Technology' were defined by the analysis of the components that makes up the user interface, From the view of an audit, the standard criteria of an assessment were set as 'Usability', 'Accessibility', and 'Cross Browsing'. Through the framework that was proposed in this paper, practical audit applies the performed examples. By this, the efficiency of the proposed framework was verified.

The Risk Factors for Musculoskeletal Symptoms During Work From Home Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic

  • Background: Online teaching and learning extend the duration of using gadgets such as mobile phones and tablets. A prolonged usage of these gadgets in a static position can lead to musculoskeletal disorders (MSD). Therefore, this study aims to identify the risk factors related to musculoskeletal symptoms while using gadgets during work from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: A cross-sectional survey with online-based questionnaires was collected from the University of Indonesia, consisting of lecturers, students, and managerial staff. The minimum number of respondents was 1,080 and was defined by stratified random sampling. Furthermore, the dependent variable was musculoskeletal symptoms, while the independent were age, gender, job position, duration, activity when using gadgets, and how to hold them. Result: Most of the respondents had mobile phones but only 16% had tablets. Furthermore, about 56.7% have used a mobile phone for more than 10 years, while about 89.7% have used a tablet for less than 10 years. A multivariate analysis found factors that were significantly associated with MSD symptoms while using a mobile phone, such as age, gender, web browsing activity, work, or college activities. These activities include doing assignments and holding the phone with two hands with two thumbs actively operating. The factors that were significantly associated with MSD symptoms when using tablets were gender, academic position, social media activity, and placing the tablet on a table with two actively working index fingers. Conclusion: Therefore, from the results of this study it is necessary to have WFH and e-learning policies to reduce MSD symptoms and enhance productivity at work.
