TIG용접한 저방사화 페라이트강(JLF-1)의 고온강도 및 피로수명특성 (High Fatigue Life and Tensile Strength Characteristics of Low Activation Ferritic Steel(JLE-1) by TIG Welding)

  • JLF-1 steel (Fe-9Cr-2W-V-Ta), low activation ferritic steel, is one of the promising candidate materials fer fusion reactor applications. High temperature fatigue life and tensile strength of JLF-1 steel and its TIG welded joints were investigated at the room temperature and $400^{\circ}C$. The strength of base metal (JLF-1) is in between those of weld metal and the HAZ. When the test temperature was increased from room temperature to $400^{\circ}C$, both strength and ductility decreased for base metal, weld metal and the HAZ. The longitudinal specimens of base metal showed similar strength and ductility compared with those of the transverse specimens at room temperature and $400^{\circ}C$. Little anisotropy was observed in the JLF-1 steel base metal in terms of rolling direction. Fatigue limit of weld metal which was obtained from cross-weld specimen is 495MPa. Thus, the weld metal showed the higher fatigue limit than those of base metal at both room temperature and $400^{\circ}C$. Little anisotropy of fatigue properties was observed for JLF-1 base metal in terms of rolling direction. When the test temperature was increased from room temperature to $400^{\circ}C$, the fatigue limit of both base metal and weld metal decreased substantially.

  • 본 연구에서는 얇은 폴리에틸렌 계 다공성 필름(두께 = $25{\mu}m$)에 이오노머를 충진시킨 세공충진 이온교환막을 개발하였으며 이를 적용한 전 바나듐 레독스 흐름전지의 충방전 특성을 고찰하였다. 특히 분자 크기가 다른 가교제를 혼합함으로써 이온교환막의 가교도 및 자유체적을 적절히 제어하여 저저항 및 저 바나듐 투과도를 나타내는 이온교환막을 제조하고자 하였다. 실험 결과, 제조된 세공충진 이온교환막은 상용막 대비하여 동등 수준의 우수한 전기화학적 특성을 나타내었다. 또한 바나듐 이온 투과도 및 전 바나듐 레독스 흐름전지 성능 평가 실험을 통해 얇은 막 두께에도 불구하고 상용막 대비하여 낮은 바나듐 이온 투과도와 높은 충방전 효율을 나타냄을 확인하였다.

  • 병렬 컴퓨터의 메시지 전달에서 응용에 관계없이 일반적으로 우수한 경로 지정 및 스위칭 정책은 존재하지 않으므로, 사용자가 응용에 따라서 정책을 변경할 수 있게 하는 것이 바람직하다. 본 논문에서는 마이크로프로세서 구조에 기초한 경로 지정 엔진과는 달리, 성능의 감소 없이 융통성 있는 경로 지정과 스위칭 기능을 수행할 수 있는 조견표(look-up table) 경로 지정 엔진의 구현에 대하여 기술한다. 제안된 경로 지정 엔진은 조견표의 내용을 바꿈으로써 웜홀(wormhole), 가상 컷스루우(virtual cut-through) 및 패킷 스위칭(packet switching) 등은 물론, 다양한 경로 지정 알고리즘의 혼성(hybride)스위칭을 구현할 수 있다. 경로 지정 엔진의 조견표는 파이프라인 구조로 되어 있어, 하나의 플릿(flit) 정도의 저 지연을 가지므로, 단일 경로 지정 및 스위칭 정책을 하드와이어(hardwired)로 구현한 경우 보다 큰 성능의 감소 없이 다중의 경로 지정 동작을 중첩할 수 있다. 제안된 4개의 파이프 라인단은 해저드(hazard)를 일으키지 않으므로, 고 비용의 포워딩(forwarding) 회로가 필요 없다. 경로 지정 엔진은 시간공유의 컷스루우 버스나 크로스바(crossbar) 스위치를 갖는 단일 경로로 되어 있는 4개의 물리적 경로를수용할 수 있다. 제안된 경로 지정 엔진은 Xilinx 4000XL 시리즈 FPGA를 사용하여 구현되었다.

무선 랜에서 멀티미디어 스트리밍을 위한 응용 인지 기반 고속 핸드오버 (Application-Aware Fast Handover for Multimedia Streaming Service in Wireless LAN)

  • 무선 랜에서 VoIP, 비디오/오디오 스트리밍, 그리고 비디오 화상 회의 서비스 등 실시간 멀티미디어 서비스를 위해 QoS를 보장하는 핸드오버를 제공하는 것이 중요한 연구 분야로 부각되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 무선 랜에서 실시간 멀티미디어 서비스의 QoS 보장을 위한 효율적인 링크 계층 핸드오버 방법을 제시한다. 제안된 핸드오버 방법은 응용 프로그램의 종류와 무선 네트워크의 환경에 따라 능동적 탐색 주기와 탐색 채널의 수를 동적으로 적용할 수 있어서 응용 서비스의 품질 저하를 막고 시그널링 오버헤드를 최소화 할 수 있다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안된 방법에 대한 검증을 하였으며, 그 결과 제안된 핸드오버 방법은 실시간 멀티미디어 응용 서비스에 따라 효율적인 능동 탐색 절차를 수행하면서 해당 응용 서비스의 QoS를 보장해 줄 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

수증기 동위원소 측정을 위한 저온채집법에 대한 연구 (Applications of Cryogenic Method to Water Vapor Sampling from Ambient Air for Isotopes Analysis)

  • Stable water vapor isotopes have been utilized as a tracer for studying atmospheric global circulations, climate change and paleoclimate with ice cores. Recently, since laser spectroscopy has been available, water vapor isotopes can be measured more precisely and continuously. Studies of water vapor isotopes have been conducted over the world, but it is the early stage in south Korea. For vapor isotopes study, a cryogenic sampling device for water vapor isotopes has been developed. The cryogenic sampling device consists of the dewar bottle, filled with extremely low temperature material and impinger connected with a vacuum pump. Impinger stays put in the dewar bottle to change the water vapor which passes through the inside of impinger into the solid phase as ice. The fact that water vapor has not sampled completely leads to isotopic fractionation in the impinger. To minimize the isotopic fractionation during sampling water vapor, we have tested the method using a serial connection with two sets of impinger device in the laboratory. We trapped 98.02% of water vapor in the first trap and the isotopic difference of the trapped water vapor between two impinger were about 20‰ and 6‰ for hydrogen and oxygen, respectively. Considering the amount of water vapor trapped in each impinger, the isotopic differences for hydrogen and oxygen were 0.33‰ and 0.06‰, respectively, which is significantly smaller than the precision of isotopic measurements. This work can conclude that there is no significant fractionation during water vapor trapping.

  • The hydroforming technology has been spreaded dramatically in automotive industry last 10 years. Itmay cause many advantages to automotive applications in terms of better structural integrity of the parts, lower cost from fewer part count, material saving, weight reduction, lower springback, improved strength and durability and design flexibility. In this study, the whole process of rear sub-frame parts development by tube hydroforming using steel material having tensile strength of 440MPa grade is presented. At the part design stage, it requires feasibility study and process design aided by CAE (Computer Aided Design) to confirm hydroformability in details. Effects of parameters such as internal pressure, axial feeding and geometry shape in automotive rear sub-frame by hydroforming process were carefully investigated. Overall possibility of hydroformable sub-frame parts could be examined by cross sectional analyses. Moreover, it is essential to ensure the formability of tube material on every forming step such as pre-bending, preforming and hydroforming. In addition, all the components of prototyping tool are designed and interference with press is examined from the point of geometry and thinning.

Use of magnetic resonance imaging for evaluation of therapeutic response in breast cancer-related lymphedema: A systematic review

  • Breast cancer treatment-related lymphedema (BCRL) is a common comorbidity in breast cancer survivors. Although magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is widely used to evaluate therapeutic response of patients with various medical conditions, it is not routinely used to evaluate lymphedema patients. We conducted a systematic review of the literature to identify studies on the use of MRI to evaluate therapy for BCRL. We hypothesized that MRI could provide information otherwise not possible through other examinations. On October 21, 2019, we conducted a systematic review on the PubMed/MEDLINE and Scopus databases, without time frame or language limitations, to identify studies on the use of MRI to evaluate therapy for BCRL. We excluded studies that investigated other applications of MRI, such as lymphedema diagnosis and surgical planning. Of 63 potential articles identified with the search, three case series fulfilled the eligibility criteria. In total, 53 patients with BCRL were included and quantitatively evaluated with MRI before and after manual lymphatic drainage. Authors used MRI or MR lymphagiography to investigate factors such as lymphatic vessel cross-sectional area, tissue water relaxation time (T2), and chemical exchange saturation transfer. The only study that compared MRI measurement with standard examinations reported that MRI added information to the therapy evaluation. MRI seems to be a promising tool for quantitative measurement of therapeutic response in patients with BCRL. However, the identified studies focused on only manual lymphatic drainage and were limited by the small numbers of patients. More studies are necessary to shed light on the topic.

냉각공정에 따른 AISI 4140 강의 표면 및 트라이볼로지 특성 (Surface and Tribological Characteristics of Air-cooled and Oil-cooled AISI 4140 Steel)

  • AISI 4140 steel is widely used in various mechanical components owing to its superior mechanical properties. Surface hardening techniques are often used to further improve the properties, particularly for applications with moving components. The aim of this research is to understand the effect of heat treatment process on surface properties and tribological characteristics of AISI 4140 steel. In this work, we prepare two different AISI 4140 steel specimens- one cooled by air and one by oil- and determine surface properties such as surface topography and roughness using a confocal microscope. We also observe the cross-sections of the specimens using a scanning electron microscope to understand the difference in the material structure. In addition, we assess the hardness with respect to the distance from the surface using a micro-Vickers hardness tester. After characterizing the surfaces of the specimens, we investigate the wear characteristics of the specimens under hydrodynamic lubrication. The results show the presence of grooves on the surface of the oil-cooled specimens. It is likely that such grooves are formed during the cooling process using the oil. However, we observe no other significant differences in the surface properties of the specimens. The wear test results show the occurrence of severe wear on the oil-cooled specimens, which may be due to the groove formed on the surface. The results of this work may be helpful to improve surface properties using surface hardening techniques from a tribological perspective.

변성 폴리아크릴 아미드의 합성 및 제지공정의 보류시스템에 응용 (Synthesis of modified polyacrylamides and their applications for the retention system of papermaking)

  • The purpose of this study was to improve not only wet-end performances but also paper characteristics by the modification of various factors like molecular design and ionic characteristics of polyacrylamides First of all physical characteristics were observed after modify molecular design of the cationic polyacrylamides to linear, branched and cross-linked. In addition it was found analysis method to confirm branch degree of cationic polyacrylamides to combine ionic titration characteristics and spectroscopic behavior, After application of these structure modified polyacrylamides to the multiple retention systems with inorganic microparticles, it was found adjusting of branch degree of polyacrylamides was very important to optimize wet-end improvement. Second, After polymerization of amphoteric polyacrylamide to have both of cationic and anionic functional group in the polymer, we observed not only physical characteristics but also wet-end improvement to apply recycled pulp and found that the improvement of solution stability to prevent hydrolysis and increase of ash retention dramatically to compare traditional cationic polyacrylamide retention aid, Finally, After polymerization of anionic polyacrylamide, we observed not only wet-end improvement but also paper characteristics to apply preflocculation of PCC and it was found the improvements of flocculation efficiency, retention, ash retention, optical properties of the paper and bursting strength to compare traditional preflocculant of cationic polyacrylamide.

미세가공 정전용량형 초음파 탐촉자 개발(III) - 탐촉자 성능평가 (Development of capacitive Micromachined Ultrasonic Transducer (III) - Performance Test)

  • 본 연구는 선행연구의 결과를 바탕으로 cMUT를 개발하여 그 특성을 분석하기 위하여 수행되었다. 미세 반도체 제작공정을 적용하여 cMUT를 제작하여 단면특성을 측정하여 분석하였다. 제작된 cMUT의 미소 진동 막의 변위를 측정할 수 있는 마이켈슨 위상변조 간섭계를 구성하여 측정결과와 이론적인 해석결과와 비교하였다. cMUT의 초음파 특성을 분석하기 위하여 송수신 시스템을 구성하였다 비접촉 방법으로 cMUT에 의해 발생되는 초음파 신호를 수신하여 수신파형의 특성을 분석한 결과 양호한 주파수 특성을 나타내었다. 본 연구에서 개발된 cMUT는 향후 비접촉식 초음파 응용분야에 다양하게 활용될 것으로 판단된다.
