Let ($M^n$, g) be a compact oriented Riemannian manifold. It has been conjectured that every solution of the equation $z_g=D_gdf-{\Delta}_gfg-fr_g$ is an Einstein metric. In this article, we deal with the 3 dimensional case of the equation. In dimension 3, if the conjecture fails, there should be a stable minimal hypersurface in ($M^3$, g). We study some necessary conditions to guarantee that a stable minimal hypersurface exists in $M^3$.
We consider the total scalar curvature functional, and show that if the second variation in the transverse traceless tensor direction is negative, then the metric is Einstein. We also find the relation between the second variation and the Lichnerowicz Laplacian.

Extremely low birth weight infants remain at increased risk of intraventricular hemorrhage from the fragile vascular bed of the germinal matrix; the roles of hypotension (ischemia) and reperfusion (hyperemia) in the development of intraventricular hemorrhage are still debated. Cerebrovascular pressure autoregulation protects the brain by maintaining constant cerebral blood flow despite changes in blood pressure. The ontogeny of cerebrovascular pressure autoregulation has not been well established and uncertainty remains about the optimal arterial blood pressure required to support brain perfusion. Another important aspect of premature cerebral hemodynamics is the critical closing pressure--the arterial blood pressure at which cerebral blood flow ceases. Interestingly, in premature infants, the critical closing pressure approximates the mean arterial blood pressure. Often in this unique population, cerebral blood flow occurs only during systole when the diastolic arterial blood pressure is equal to the critical closing pressure. Moreover, the diastolic closing margin, a metric of cerebral perfusion that normalizes diastolic arterial blood pressure to the critical closing pressure, may be a better measure than arterial blood pressure for defining cerebral perfusion in premature infants. Elevated diastolic closing margin has been associated with intraventricular hemorrhage. This review summarizes the current state of understanding of cerebral hemodynamics in premature infants.

The human performance issues and increased automation issues in advanced Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) are critical to numerous stakeholders in the nuclear industry, due to the undesirable implications targeting the Man Machine Interface Systems (MMIS) complexity of (Generation IV) SMRs. It is imperative that the design of future SMRs must address these problems. Nowadays, Multi Agent Systems (MAS) are used in the industrial sector to solve multiple complex problems; therefore incorporating this technology in the proposed innovative SMR (I-SMR) design will contribute greatly in the decision making process during plant operations, also reduce the number MCR operating crew and human errors. However, it is speculated that an increased level of complexity will be introduced. Prior to achieving the objectives of this research, the tools used to analyze the system for complexity reduction, are the McCabe's Cyclomatic complexity metric and the Henry-Kafura Information Flow metric. In this research, the systems engineering approach is used to guide the engineering process of complexity reduction concept of the system in its entirety.

Digital Multimedia Broadcasting(DMB) is a reliable multi-service system for reception by mobile and portable receivers. DMB system allows interference-free reception under the conditions of multipath propagation and transmission errors using COFDM modulation scheme, simultaneously, needs powerful channel error's correction ability. Viterbi Decoder for DMB receiver uses punctured convolutional code and needs lots of computations for real-time operation. So, it is desired to design a high speed and low-power hardware scheme for Viterbi decoder. This paper proposes a combined add-compare-select(ACS) and path metric normalization(PMN) unit for computation power. The proposed PMN architecture reduces the problem of the critical path by applying fixed value for selection algorithm due to the comparison tree which has a weak point from structure with the high-speed operation. The proposed ACS uses the decomposition and the pre-computation technique for reducing the complicated degree of the adder, the comparator and multiplexer. According to a simulation result, reduction of area $3.78\%$, power consumption $12.22\%$, maximum gate delay $23.80\%$ occurred from punctured viterbi decoder for DMB system.
On a compact n-dimensional manifold M, it has been conjectured that a critical point metric of the total scalar curvature, restricted to the space of metrics with constant scalar curvature of volume 1, should be Einstein. The purpose of the present paper is to prove that a 3-dimensional manifold (M,g) is isometric to a standard sphere if ker $s^*_g{{\neq}}0$ and there is a lower Ricci curvature bound. We also study the structure of a compact oriented stable minimal surface in M.

Background: The diagnosis of pediatric acute respiratory distress syndrome (PARDS) is a pragmatic decision based on the degree of hypoxia at the time of onset. We aimed to determine whether reclassification using oxygenation metrics 24 hours after diagnosis could provide prognostic ability for outcomes in PARDS. Methods: Two hundred and eighty-eight pediatric patients admitted between January 1, 2010 and January 30, 2017, who met the inclusion criteria for PARDS were retrospectively analyzed. Reclassification based on data measured 24 hours after diagnosis was compared with the initial classification, and changes in pressure parameters and oxygenation were investigated for their prognostic value with respect to mortality. Results: PARDS severity varied widely in the first 24 hours; 52.4% of patients showed an improvement, 35.4% showed no change, and 12.2% either showed progression of PARDS or died. Multivariate analysis revealed that mortality risk significantly increased for the severe group, based on classification using metrics collected 24 hours after diagnosis (adjusted odds ratio, 26.84; 95% confidence interval [CI], 3.43 to 209.89; P=0.002). Compared to changes in pressure variables (peak inspiratory pressure and driving pressure), changes in oxygenation (arterial partial pressure of oxygen to fraction of inspired oxygen) over the first 24 hours showed statistically better discriminative power for mortality (area under the receiver operating characteristic curve, 0.701; 95% CI, 0.636 to 0.766; P<0.001). Conclusions: Implementation of reclassification based on oxygenation metrics 24 hours after diagnosis effectively stratified outcomes in PARDS. Progress within the first 24 hours was significantly associated with outcomes in PARDS, and oxygenation response was the most discernable surrogate metric for mortality.
Application Routing Load Balancing (ARLB) is a novel load balancing mode that combines QoS routing and load balancing in per application to support QoS far real-time application based on wired network. Zone Routing Protocol (ZRP) is a recent hybrid proactive/reactive routing approach in an attempt to achieve scalability of ad-hoc network. This routing approach has the potential to be efficient in the generation of control traffic than traditional routing schemes. Up to now, without proper load balancing tools, the ZRP can actually guarantee QoS for delay-sensitive applications when congestion occurred in ad-hoc network. In this paper, we propose the ARLB to improve QoS fur delay-sensitive applications based on ZRP in ad-hoc network when congestion occurred and to be forwarding mechanism fur route coupling to support QoS for real-time applications. The critical point is that the routing metric of ARLB is originally designed for wired network environment. Therefore, we study and present an appropriate metric or cost computation routing of ARLB for recently proposed ZRP over ad-hoc network environment.

In order to achieve faster content distribution speed and stronger fault tolerance, a P2P peer can connect to multiple peers in parallel and receive chunks of the data simultaneously. A critical issue in this environment is selecting a set of nodes participating in swarming sessions. Previous related researches only focus on performance metrics, such as downloading time or the round-trip time, but in this paper, we consider a new performance metric which is closely related to the network and propose a peer selection algorithm that produces the set of peers generating optimal worst link stress. We prove that the optimal algorithm is practicable and has the advantages with the experiments on PlanetLab. The algorithm optimizes the congestion level of the bottleneck link. It means the algorithm can maximize the affordable throughput. Second, the network load is well balanced. A balanced network improves the utilization of resources and leads to the fast content distribution. We also notice that if every client follows our algorithm in selecting peers, the probability is high that all sessions could benefit. We expect that the algorithm in this paper can be used complementary to existing methods to derive new and valuable insights in peer-to-peer networking.
