  • RDF(Refuse-Derived Fuel) is a fuel of pelletized form made of combustible solid wastes and can not only be used as alternative energy to fossil fuel but also solve troubles in thermal uses of incinerator. As the first stage for obtaining elementary data required to develop criteria of raw materials appropriate to RDF combustion facilities actively spread recently in Korea, preliminary experiments were conducted on CO, SOx, NOx and HCl production and reduction characteristics in combustion of RDF. RDF samples weighing 2~3 g per a sample were manufactured in a lab-scale way and combustion tests of RDF were carried out in electric furnace with quartz tube of 50 mm inside diameter.

Effects of Raw Materials and Bulking Agents on the Thermophilic Composting Process

  • Three typical biological solid wastes, namely, animal manure, garbage, and sewage sludge, were compared with regard to the composting process and the changes in microbial community structure. The effects of different bulking agents such as rice straw, vermiculite, sawdust, and waste paper were compared in manure compost. The differences in the microbial community were characterized by the quinone profile method. The highest mass reduction was found in garbage composting (56.8%), compared with manure and sludge (25% and 20.2%, respectively). A quinone content of $305.2\;{\mu}mol/kg$ was observed in the late stage of garbage composting, although the diversity index of the quinone profile was 9.7, lower than that in manure composting. The predominant quinone species was found to be MK-7, which corresponds to Gram-positive bacteria with a low G+C content, such as Bacillus. The predominance of MK-7 was especially found in the garbage and sludge composting process, and the increase in quinones with partially saturated long side-chains was shown in the late composting process of manure, which corresponded to the proliferation of Actinobacteria. The effects of different bulking agents on the composting process was much smaller than the effects of different raw materials. High organic matter content in the raw materials resulted in a higher microbial biomass and activity, which was connected to the high mass reduction rate.

점토벽돌 제조 원료 종류에 따른 소성온도별 레드머드 세라믹의 특성 (Characteristics of Redmud Ceramics by Sintering Temperature and Raw Materials of Clay Bricks)

  • This study aims to recycle redmud which is a byproduct in the alumina industry. Redmud ceramics were prepared according to the type of raw materials by blending redmud with the raw materials used in the conventional clay bricks. In this paper, the compressive strength, water absorption ratio, and shrinkage of redmud ceramics prepared by mixing clay bricks were evaluated. Compressive strength and absorption ratio of redmud ceramics were compared with the clay brick criteria of KS L 4201. At the firing temperature of $1200^{\circ}C$, the specimens containing redmud only and the redmud with sandy loam and black clay were found to satisfy the 1st class of clay brick. The quality standard of compressive strength and absorption ratio was obtained by firing redmud with black clay and sandy loam at $1200^{\circ}C$. Also, when the redmud was mixed with black clay and feldspar, the 2nd class was satisfied when the sample was fired at $1100^{\circ}C$.

DNA 바코드를 이용한 가정간편식 제품의 원재료 모니터링 연구 (Monitoring of Raw Materials for Commercial Home Meal Replacement Products Using DNA Barcode Information)

  • 본 연구는 최근 소비가 크게 증가하고 있는 가정간편식의 원료에 대한 모니터링을 수행하였다. 다양한 유형의 가정간편식 제품을 구입하여 112개 원료의 DNA 바코드를 분석하였다. 원재료의 종을 동정하기 위하여 DNA 바코드 증폭에 주로 이용되는 미토콘드리아의 16S ribosomal RNA 유전자 부위를 증폭하는 프라이머 세트를 이용하였다. PCR 산물은 정제하여 염기서열을 분석한 후, 이를 이용하여 미국국립보건원에서 제공하는 BLAST search를 수행하였다. GenBank에 등록되어 있는 종의 염기서열과 유사도(Identity)와 매치 점수(Match score)를 비교하여 원료의 종을 판별하였다. 112개의 원료에서 24개의 종(Species)과 3개의 속(Genus)를 동정하였다. 3개의 속은 Identity의 기준이 되는 98% 이내에 해당하는 종이 다수 존재하여 속 수준에서 판별하였다. 판별 결과를 「식품의 기준 및 규격(제2019-57호)」 중 '(별표 1) 사용할 수 있는 원료 목록'에서 제시하는 사용 가능한 원료와 비교하여 국명 및 섭취 가능 여부를 판단하였으며, 등재되어 있지 않은 6개 종은 국제적으로 공인된 기구에서 어획량에 대한 정보를 확인하고, 식용 근거, 학명·이명 등을 확인하여 식용 가능 여부를 판단하였다.

원료에 따른 젓갈류의 이화학적 성분 및 Biogenic Amine류의 함량 비교 (Comparison of the Physiochemical Compositions and Biogenic Amine Contents of Salt-fermented Fishery Products fromy Different Raw Materials)

  • This study was conducted to understand the quality characteristics of 89 types of commercial salt-fermented fishery products by measuring their physiochemical compositions and biogenic amine contents. All samples had the following measurements; 41.59-89.20 g/100 g of moisture, 1.71-25.70 g/100 g of salinity, 3.21-7.05 of pH, 0.80-2.93 g/100 g of total nitrogen, 87.02-1,296.78 mg/100 g of amino nitrogen, and 7.30-926.34 mg/100 g of volatile basic nitrogen. The physicochemical components differed extensively between samples from different raw materials, including, fish, shellfish, and others. Histamine (0 to 1,072.2 mg/kg), putrescine (0 to 2,536.4 mg/kg), cadaverine (0 to 545.2 mg/kg of cadaverine), tryptamine (0 to 1,287.9 mg/kg), and tyramine (11.3 to 563.3 mg/kg) were the major biogenic amines detected in the samples. These findings suggest that salt-fermented fishery products meet the domestic criteria but have different ingredient compositions and most had high biogenic amine contents. The results suggest that it is necessary to establish criteria for evaluating the quality characteristics using the ingredient composition and biogenic amine contents of commercial salt-fermented fishery products.

선상에서 처리한 창란젓갈 원료에 관한 연구 (Quality Analysis of Viscera of Alaska Pollack Treated on Vessel for Raw Materials of Changran-Jeotgal)

  • 어획한 명태를 선상에서 가공할 때 부산물로 생산되는 선상창란을 대상으로 선도에 따른 제품의 관능검사와 제조과정 중의 수율을 조사함으로서 산업적으로 활용할 수 있는 원료창란의 VBN판정기준을 설정하고 아울러 초기 VBN 값이 각기 다른 원료창란으로부터 젓갈숙성중의 VBN, pH, 그리고 생균수 변화를 조사한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 선상에서 처리한 원료창란은 창란젓갈 원료가 되는 위와 창자의 비율이 $72\%$로서 시료명태 내장중 위와 창자의 비율인 $18.5\%$보다 약 4배정도 높았다. 2. 동일한 시료명태에서 백색육과 내장의 VBN을 조사한 결과, 내장의 VBN이 백색육보다 최소 2배에서 최대 14.2배였고, 명태육과 내장의 선도 사이에는 일정한 상관 관계가 없었다. 3. 원료창란의 VBN이 $70{\pm}2mg\%$ 이하인 경우 위와 창자만을 정선한 수율은 $52\%$ 이상이었고, 제품의 관능 검사 결과도 양호하였다. 그러나$ VBN\;80{\pm}2mg\%$ 이상인 경우 정선창란의 수율은 $43\%$ 이하였으며 제품의 관능검사 결과도 불량하여 유통상품으로서 가치가 적었다. 4. 원료창란의 $VNB\;35{\pm}2mg\%$$70{\pm}2mg\%$인 시료를 60일 동안 숙성시키면서 VBN, pH 및 생균수 변화를 조사한 결과, VBN은 $50.06{\pm}2mg\%,\;87.71{\pm}2mg\%로서 두시료 모두 숙성초기보다 각각 $15.06mg{\%},\;17.51mg{\%}$ 증가하였으며, pH는 숙성초기에 7.12와 7.44이던 것이 각각 6.22, 6.15로 감소하였고, 생균수는 초기균수 $3.4{\times}10^3\;CFU/g$$3.4{\times}10^4\;CFU/g$에서 각각 $2.8{\times}10^4\;CFU/g$$9.8{\times}10^5\;CFU/g$$1\~1.5-log-unit$가 증가하였다.

  • As more serious environmental problems of buildings, many researchers have recognized the importance of preserving the environment where we live as well as a necessity of developing architecture with eco-environmentally. As a result, our country and some advanced countries have tried to solve these problems in that developed green building assessment tools for estimating environmental performance of buildings. Among many kinds of buildings, hospital which have been relation with human beings has been laking in basic raw materials of researching hospital's environment. Especially, there are few materials about indoor environment of hospital. So, the facilities of patients not only have to depend on the quality of natural environment but be also taken into account of patients. The purpose of this study is to prepare the basic data to develop the items of indoor environmental assessment for hospital to improve the quality of hospital's indoor environment. To come to a conclusion, we used a method of comparing domestic green building certification criteria, LEED v.2.2 and GBTool 2005. Then, we analyzed them for the case studies. Consequently, we could grasp basic data to assist in effecting domestic green building certification criteria for hopital. Furthermore, we have made a progressive research about setting grades of it.

지속가능한 측면에서의 주거공간 신소재의 기준 및 특성 (A Study on the Criteria and Characteristics of New Material for Housing Space Focused on Sustainability)

  • The study was to grasp features of new material applicable to housing space in the sustainable side by analyzing materialistic features of new material and features of sustainable material with sustainable new material. Through analysis on sustainable new material, the study deducted the below conclusion. First, through the precedent studies, the characteristics of sustainable materials have been classified into eight categories : friendly healthiness, non-toxicity, comfortableness, naturality, recycling, harmlessness of environment, separate collection, reusability. After the criteria have been brought up from new material applicable to housing space in the sustainable. Second, in materialistic Characteristics of new material, 'New Process' was mainly applied. There was no any new material applied to 'new raw material'. Therefore, it is thought that it is necessary to study on development of perfectly new material and to study on new material to apply material used in other fields to finishing material of dwelling space. Third, in Characteristics of sustainable material, 'Re-serviceability' appeared most and 'Non-toxicity' and 'Recycling' appeared in the next. 'Friendly Healthiness' and 'Separate collection' appeared only one on the other side. Therefore, it is judged that it is necessary to develop and study new material including health components considering user's health, function for health increase and function to grope comfort for humans. Finally, after researching and analysis the criteria by recently presented the new material, it has been concluded that the standard can be used as the criteria of new material for the possibility of application in housing space. On the basis of the study, the author will carry out analysis on sustainable new material minutely and utilize it as basic data to suggest a standard of sustainable new material applicable to dwelling space in the future.

시뮬레이션을 통한 김밥 생산과정의 계절별 미생물적 품질평가 (A Simulation Study on Microbiological Evaluation of Kimbap Manufacturing Process in Summer and Winter)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate microbiological quality for each stage of the kimbap manufacturing process in summer and winter. Under the various controlled conditions through the simulation, the time-temperature data were collected and the microbiological quality(including total plate count, coliforms, and fecal coliform count) were evaluated. To determine the expected shelf life of Kimbap, a microbiolgical analysis according to the length of the storage time was performed. The microbiological analysis on both sanitary and unsanitary utensils was compared. The microbiological quality of the raw materials of Kimbap in summer was not at an acceptable level, but that of the heat-treated raw materials of Kimbap met the requirement according to the standards set by the Natick Research Center. The number of the microorganisms of the unsanitary utensils and the Kimbap made from unsanitary utensils was more than the acceptable criteria. Sanitary management is necessary to prohibit cross-contamination and to manufacture Kimbap safely. Results from storage times and storage temperature conditions(chilled and room-temperature storage) showed that the expected shelf-life of the Kimbap with the room-temperature storage was as less than 3 hours in summer, while it was as 7-10 hours in winter.

  • Mega-FTA는 양자간 FTA와 달리 선진국을 포함한 신흥경제국이 하나의 단일시장에서 규모의 경제를 확대하고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 양자간 FTA는 협상을 통해 자국의 산업뿐만 아니라 국가 간 연관 산업도 고려하여 원산지 기준과 특혜 관세율을 조정하기 때문에 경쟁력이 있는 특정산업은 역내 시장 확대와 더불어 외국인 투자나 국내재투자도 기대할 수 있다. 이와는 반대로 Mega-FTA는 다수의 참여국이 동일한 특혜세율 하에서 경제규모를 확대해야 하므로 양자간 FTA와는 달리 참여국들의 경쟁우위요소를 복합적으로 활용하여야만 협정의 효과를 극대화 할 수 있게 된다. 즉, Mega-FTA에서는 양자간 FTA의 보충기준인 누적기준의 활용 여부가 협정의 성패를 좌우하는 중요한 FTA 활용 증진 요소이다.
