Even though Korea has lost its important modern era due to Japanese colonialism, it is in the rank of advanced nation today. It is common to think that there was no creative and innovative design activity because it was highly constrained by design activities. Is there no creative idea or innovative design in this period of design activity? As a result of analyzing the various products of modern design left in the question, I was able to find a new and unique Innovation in 10 fields. In other words, today, we can confirm that we have utilized innovative strategies in the field of design such as brand family, new sign system, modernism style, localization, star marketing, one source multi use, private brand, nature friendly, fusion and parody strategy.
In order to establish the correct direction for the use of digital textbooks in the future, it is necessary to derive implications for improving the domestic digital textbook utilization policy by analyzing the actual conditions of other countries that are already using digital textbooks. Therefore, in this paper, we compared the policies of using digital textbooks in the United States, Canada, Malaysia, and China, and reviewed ways to improve Korea's digital textbook policies. First, each country's digital textbook promotion subject and strategy, scope of use, issuance system, and usage method were compared, and then the implications of each country's digital textbook policy were analyzed. And based on these implications, a plan to improve Korea's digital textbook policy was suggested. It is expected that this will be used as meaningful basic data in preparing policies for the development of digital textbooks in the future.
Despite the popularity and convenient accessibility of puzzles, the variety of puzzles have led to a lack of research on the nature of the puzzle itself. In guiding certain skills, such as abstractness, creativity, and logic, a teacher should have the thinking skill and strategy that appear in solving puzzles. In this study, the mathematical thinking that appears in solving puzzles from the perspective of experts is identified, and the strategies and characteristics are described and classified accordingly. For this purpose, we analyzed 85 math puzzles including the well-know puzzles to the public, plus puzzles from a popular book for the gifted student. The research analysis shows that there are 6 types of mathematics puzzles in which require mathematical thinking.

Service elements are added to the product to improve the company it its sales and innovation. The servitization process could take many different routes reflecting various properties of the manufacturing firm and its business contexts. Product-service systems (PSS) design method developed at Sungkyunkwan Universty, Service Design Institute, has been applied to a small furniture manufacturing company to demonstrate the utility of the method and to devise improvements. First, the business context of the company has been analyzed and key values have been identified. A co-creative session has been conducted to develop initial service concepts to drive those key values. The diverse positioning of those service concepts on the scale of service supporting product and service support customer is then developed to plan servitization phases. The specific service concepts are about company-customer relationship building as well as customization and personalization in this case. Initial service concepts are detailed with service blueprint so that prototyping and customer experience evaluation can be done. Business models in different servitization phases are designed. Further prototyping and customer experience evaluation has been done with business strategy improvements. In this paper, the proudct-service systems design method has been reviewed and the specific and real processes of the servitization using design will be described with discussion on the improvement of the method and the enhancement of the business.
This paper deals with the analysis and comparison between on the course of a conventional engineering design (typically project-based learning) and a new engineering design (introduced PBL model to conventional engineering design). The purpose of the study is to identify and prove the effect of PBL model on the course with a new teaching-learning. In the result of t-test, there were significant statistics in the creative problem solving and self-directed learning ability, but no significant statistics in the team work and communication skill ability. Also the average of factors of the problem-based strategy is higher than those of the project-based strategy. In the problem-based strategy, the team work has the most influential on the satisfactory of the course. However in the project-based strategy, the comprehension of given product has the most influential on the satisfactory. Finally, this study has proved the effect of PBL on the course engineering design.

The new paradigm of the 21st Century science education explores a wide range of possibilities that can foster students' interest toward science and creative convergence thinking. In this study, through the analysis of programs that were developed in 'STEAM leader school' and 'STEAM teacher association for research' supported by the 'Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology,' we analyzed the linking frequency with each of STEAM education's fields and teachers' perception for the convergence strategy of technology and engineering. The results of this study show that linking frequency of technology and engineering is lower than the field of arts and mathematics in elementary school, but higher in middle and high school. 'Introduction technology contents in lives' in technology and 'crafts activity' in engineering are the most used teaching and learning strategy in STEAM education. But, although 'crafts activity' is engineering's major way of learning, many teachers understand and use it as a technological teaching learning strategy. It is important to understand that each of STEAM education's field has a unique nature and educational implications, for the effective settlement of STEAM education, we need to consider teaching and learning strategy in various way.
National Defense & IT Convergence is ensuring actual force integration by developing new IT Convergence Technology for the purpose of realizing the concept of Network Centric Warfare. The Ministry of Defense has appointed National Defense & IT Convergence Center of Defense Agency for Technology and Quality as a specialized agency for the National Defense & IT Convergence development, a mission in the creative economy era and has been active in military demand inquiry and prior technology plan with the industrial-academic research institute for discovery of National Defense IT Convergence projects based on the Convergence Center. Further, it is promoting focused on the timely introduction of private IT new technology by operating the project planning team comprised of defense domain specialists and by applying the advanced planning method etc. Accordingly, for the development of National Defense & IT convergence, developmental strategy is urgently required to be utilized effectively after considering theoretically on the national IT Convergence policy enforcement and phenomenon of National Defense & IT Convergence technology and analyzing them comprehensively. This thesis promotes in phases the IT Convergence projects which are identified for the development, improves the efficiency of newly created National Defense & IT Convergence center and suggests training program of IT Convergence personnel related to the defense reforms. With such, it will achieve smart defense in advance and will also contribute largely for the realization of the immediate paradigm shift and of the creative economy.
Purpose - The goals of this study are the following. First, this study focused on customer satisfaction of in-flight service. Specifically, in-flight duty free items were considered because of their potential value related with the differentiated strategy of airline companies. Second, this study analyzed feasible strategies that would fence off the aversive attitudes of consumers toward innovation regarding in-flight duty free items. Third, this study strived to discover implicit routes related with the reactions of of consumers to innovation. Fourth, the construal level theory was applied to the context of in-flight service. Psychological distance is expected to promote acceptance of innovation for duty free items. Research design, data, and methodology - This study consisted of three experiments. All data were collected through the participation of university students. First, the experiment employed a 2×2 between-subject design. The first independent variable was temporal distance (long vs. short of navigation time). The second independent variable was innovativeness (innovative duty free items vs. typical items). Further, experiment 2 involved a 2×2 between-subject design. The first independent variable was social distance (typical vs. atypical stewardess image). The second was innovativeness that was based on a pattern similar to that of the prior experiment. The third experiment involved a 2×2×2 design. The first and second independent variables were temporal distance and item innovation, respectively, based on the method of experiment 1. The third independent variable was cognitive depletion (depletion vs. control condition). Results - Experiment 1 demonstrated that the innovation of duty free items would need to consider the journey time of the airline. Specifically, innovative items were preferred in case of a long journey; typical items, however, were liked in a short journey. Further, experiment 2 demonstrated that, in spite of a short journey, innovative items would be preferred if an atypical stewardess was serving. An atypical stewardess was linked with social distance, and the psychological effects would activate a creative and flexible mindset that would fit with innovative duty free items. The final experiment was accomplished for the examination of cognitive processing of psychological distance on innovation-acceptance. Specifically, if the effects were related with systematic processing, then cognitive effort would be needed. In contrast, if they were related with heuristic processing, then such efforts would not be required. The same pattern appeared under both cognitive depletion and control condition; therefore, the effects of psychological distance were implied to be heuristic processing. Conclusions - Managers need to consider the navigation time, stewardess concepts, and depletion of consumers as important factors for innovative strategy regarding in-flight service. Longer journeys are more successful for innovative trials. Further, a more atypical stewardess image is more successful for atypical service. Long navigation and unfamiliar stewardesses may activate creative and flexible thinking. Further, cognitive depletion of consumers is not a dominant factor of psychological distance effects, because the effects are not related with systematic processing, but with heuristic processing.
Objectives : Trend of R&D of herbal medicine for dementia treatment was examined based on the quantitative information analysis for establishing the national strategy of research on dementia treatment with oriental medicine. Methods : Definition was made to clarify the technology for development of herbal medicine for dementia treatment. Based on the initial keyword provided by experts in the field, queries were compounded to conduct search in the search engines of WoS and DWPI. The raw data (papers or patents) extracted from the initial search were examined by expert-review before objects of analysis were determined. Then, the accumulated data was analyzed in terms of year, country and organization, which led to examination of the trend of R&D. And the research performance evaluation for dementia treatment technologies was also made in terms of country, organization and researcher based on the forward citation analysis. The international cooperation intensity was examined on the basis of analysis of network by researcher before analysis results were put together to select lead researchers. Results : According to the quantitative information analysis of 1,330 articles that were selected as analysis objects, the number of papers on natural products research for dementia treatment has increased by around 4.6 times in recent five years. This indicates that the intensive studies have been underway recently. It was found to be the US that had the highest level in research filed of herbal medicine for dementia treatment and the highest capacity of international cooperation for that purpose. On the contrary, Korea had the share of papers at 5.1%, the number of countries in cooperation research at 8, and the article quality index at 0.40, showing that the qualitative level was insufficient, compared to the quantitative outcome. In particular, Korea was found to have no intensity of international cooperation among researchers. In case of patent, the results of information analysis of 305 patents selected as analysis objects demonstrated that China had the highest share while Korea had the very low frequency of patent application quantitatively. Conclusions : In this study, the research to develop herbal medicine for dementia treatment has recently drawn much attention that has spread around the globe. Therefore, these results suggest establishing the strategy to develop technology for dementia treatment with oriental medicine in the future based on quantitative information analysis.
This study attends to the phenomenon of major domestic corporations advertising their respective brands on official YouTube channels, reflecting the increasing importance of YouTube as a medium for marketing communication. One hundred vlogs of corporations with an official YouTube channel were content analyzed and their banded content attributes, advertising model's characteristics, advertising appeals, creative strategy, and consumer responses were investigated. Results show that the vlogs of employees were generally formulated with information on their colleagues' tasks and interviews. Findings also demonstrate that the characteristics of the model featured in vlogs had the most significant effects on consumer responses. Amongst the creative strategies, the user image had positive effects. However, branded content characteristics and advertising appeal types were found to have relatively weak effects. This research offers a theoretical understanding of the factors that influence consumer responses to the new type of advertising, corporate vlogs, in terms of branded content characteristics and advertising strategies. From a strategic point, it is anticipated that the reinforcement of user image and the utilization of an attractive model will produce positive responses from consumers.
