Phase-locked loops (PLLs) are among the most important mixed-signal building blocks of modern communication and control circuits, where they are used for frequency and phase synchronization, modulation, and demodulation as well as frequency synthesis. The growing popularity of PLLs has increased the need to test these devices during prototyping and production. The problem of distinguishing and classifying the responses of analog integrated circuits containing catastrophic faults has aroused recent interest. This is because most analog and mixed signal circuits are tested by their functionality, which is both time consuming and expensive. The problem is made more difficult when parametric variations are taken into account. Hence, statistical methods and techniques can be employed to automate fault classification. As a possible solution, we use the back propagation neural network (BPNN) to classify the faults in the designed charge-pump PLL. In order to classify the faults, the BPNN was trained with various training algorithms and their performance for the test structure was analyzed. The proposed method of fault classification gave fault coverage of 99.58%.
The Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks (UWSN) consists of sensor nodes equipped with limited sensing coverages, energy resources and communication capacity. Hence, the deployment and movement algorithm is a key issue that needs to be organized in order to improve the sensing efficiency of the networks. In this paper, we use a Queen problem and Knapsack problem to prevent the reiteration phenomenon of sensors, to guarantee improvement sensing coverage and efficiency in the 3D UWSN.

In this paper, we discuss a proposed two hop relay network with PB/MC-CDMA(partial block MC-CDMA) technique. The main advantages of PB/MC-CDMA system are the increased cell capacity and the high quality of performances. In the system, we employ relay scheme to focus on the coverage reduction and hotspot problem, hotspot is a location where a cluster of users are blocked or dropped for the reason of insufficient frequency resources. Frequency resource allocation scheme is put forward in a three cells system according to each problem. The simulation result shows the performance of the two hop transmission is better than the direct transmission and the proposed network can support much more users to relief hotspot effect compared to the conventional one.

In camera sensor networks (CSNs), in order to better identify the point, full-view problem requires capture any facing direction of target (point or intruder), and its coverage prediction and sensor density issues are more complicated. At present, a lot of research supposes that a large number of homogeneous camera sensors are randomly distributed in a bounded square monitoring region to obtain full-view rate which is close to 1. In this paper, we deduce the sensor density prediction model in heterogeneous deployed CSNs with arbitrary full-view rate. Aiming to reduce the influence of boundary effect, we introduce the concepts of expanded monitoring region and maximum detection area. Besides, in order to verify the performance of the proposed sensor density model, we carried out different scenarios in simulation experiments to verify the theoretical results. The simulation results indicate that the proposed model can effectively predict the sensor density with arbitrary full-view rate.

Time division wireless communication in tactical MANET is attractive to deliver both high data rates and long-range coverage, and to provide scheduled QoS to mission participants. This paper is about the time synchronization issue of multi-mission USV in tactical MANET. As USV communication coverage becomes longer, the synchronization error also becomes higher; therefore, which results in link disconnection, and consequent failures of reconnection because base station cannot configure necessary parameters over long-distant terminal. We propose a range adaptive time synchronization method to compensate for synchronization errors. The issue of long-range time synchronization problem was identified during maritime communication tests, and we verified the proposed method through analyses of both indoor and outdoor test results.

In this paper, we focused on the performance of reverse link in 1.8GHz CDMA 1x system including the Tower-Mount LNA in an urban environment. In order to study the benefit of TMLNA, Hata model is used and the effects of multiple cells are considered. Cell coverage extension ratio is proportional to the increased gain of TMLNA in CDMA cell site. However the cell coverage is not extended even if the noise figure of TMLNA is reduced in an urban area. When typical RSSI is between -70dBm and -80dBm, the increased gain and the reduced NF of TMLNA are not impact to the pole capacity of cell site. Namely, the benefit of TMLNA in an urban area is not the problem of capacity but the proble of sensitivity. The results are also shown that reverse link $E_b/N_o$ is improved by minimum 5dB and BER is lower than $10^{-6}$.

Femtocells are viewed as a promising option for mobile operators to improve coverage and provide high-data-rate services in a cost-effective manner Femtocells can be used to serve indoor users, resulting in a powerful solution for ubiquitous indoor and outdoor coverage. TThe frequency accuracy and phase alignment is necessary for ensuring the quality of service (QoS) forapplications such as voice, real-time video, wireless hand-off, and data over a converged access medium at the femtocell. But, the GPS has some problem to be used at the femtocell, because it is difficult to set-up, depends on the satellite condition, and very expensive. The IEEE 1588 specification provides a low-cost means for clock synchronisation over a broadband Internet connection. The Time of Packet (ToP) specified in IEEE 1588 is able to synchronize distributed clocks with an accuracy of less than one microsecond in packet networks. However, the timing synchronization over packet switched networks is a difficult task because packet networks introduce large and highly variable packet delays. This paper proposes an enhanced filter algorithm to reduce ths packet delay variation effects and maintain ToP slave clock synchronization performance. The results are presented to demonstrate in the intra-networks and show the improved performance case when the efficient ToP filter algorithm is applied.
GPS is especially suitable for location systems in flat areas, but the availability of GPS is limited in highly urbanized and mountain areas, due to the nature of satellite communications. Dead reckoning is generally used to solve a location problem when a pedestrian is out of range of GPS coverage. To extend the apparent coverage of the GPS system for a hiker in mountain areas, we propose an integrated 3D location system that interpolates a 3D dead reckoning system based on information about contour lines. The speeds of hikers vary according to the inclination of the ground in sloped areas such as mountains. To reduce location measurement errors, we determine the angle of inclination based on the contour lines of the mountain, and use the speeds based on the inclination in the location system. The simulation results show that the proposed system is more accurate than the existing location system.
As Our society's environmental awareness and concern the significant increases, the importance of the legal system for environmental conservation such as the Prior Environmental Review System, Environmental Impact Assessment is growing increasingly. but, still critical issues are present such as reliability. Though there could be various causes such as the system or procedures etc. Above all, basically the environmental data problem is the critical cause. Therefore, this study was trying to improve the environmental data accuracy using the high-resolution color aerial photography, LiDAR data and Object Oriented Classification method. And in this study, classification based on coverage percentage of a particular species was attempted through the multi-resolution segmentation and multi-level classification method. The classification result was verified by comparison with 11 points local survey data. All 11 points were classified correctly. And even though the exact coverage percentage of the particular species did not be measured, It was confirmed that the species was occupied similar portion. It is important that the environmental data which can be used for the conservation value assessment could be acquired.

It designs the general description of 8-VSB DTV transmission system will be installed and operated in future on the basis of NTSC TV transmission system in operation now. First of all, it investigates a condition that can maintain optimum received field in case of ground wave broadcasting with analog NTSC and digital 8-VSB DTV. Also it calculates critical value of minimum field strength fur receiving by using field strength calculation method of Longley-Rice. The 8-VSB DTV transmission sets its goal in transmission of data with 19.39Mbps at high speed in order to be available of HDTV in the band of NTSC 6MHz. Accordingly, the optimum of field strength between transmission and receiving points most of all is important problem. So,8-VSB DTV transmission should be enlarged or effective compared with NTSC service coverage. This study is to calculate the transmission power necessary in switching from NTSC VHF to DTV UHF and from NTSC UHF to DTV UHF for maintaining service coverage that NTSC is equal to 8-VSB DTV as a result of calculation.
