광 간섭 현상을 이용한 나노 스케일의 유막두께 측정 (The measurement of Nano Scale film thickness using optical interferometry)

  • The interferometer method with nano-scale spatial resolution has been developed in this study. To enhance the accuracy of the previous developed method, the 14 bit cooled CCD camera with 1280 by 980 spatial resolution was applied to the measurement. And optical alignment has been carried out on the highly accurate position sensors with 500nm resolution so as to be able to calibrate the detected interference image with the field of view. Also the measurements were applied to the ultra thin oil film between the Al coated cylinder mirror with 38.1mm radius and 0.5mm cover glass to verify the developed method. The measured result showed the good agreement with the used cylinder curvature with ${\pm}$5.18run uncertainty.

형광 나노포러스 박막의 온도장 가시화 (The Visualization of Temperature Field for Nanoporous Thin Film using Laser-Induced Fluorescence.)

  • In present study, a temperature field of specimens which was coated with fluorescence dye such as Rhodamine-B(Rh-B) has been measured, based on the fluorescence intensity. Silica(SiO2) nano porous structure with 1um thickness was constructed on a cover glass, and fluorescence dye was digested into these porous thin films. To optimize manufacturing coating process, various solvents, Rh-B concentration, and other chemical materials were applied to fabricate the specimen and all specimens were measured on the various temperature conditions. For the measurement, a 14 bit cooled CCD camera with 1600 by 1200 spatial resolution is equipped with epifluorescence microscope to obtain only fluorescence intensity from 1.2 mm by 0.9 mm field of view of the illuminated coated specimen.

  • Sound transmission loss (TL) is experimently investigated on the multi-layered panel used for the floor of a tilting train. Measurement of the intensity transmission loss is performed according to ASTM E 2249-02. The floor structure consists of corrugated steel panel, glass wool, plywood and cover. On the corrugated steel panel, TL drop by local resonance is considered and the TL improvement effect by damping treatment is estimated. Total sound transmission loss of the entire floor structure is obtained and the contribution of each layer is examined.

Braided composite rods: Innovative fibrous materials for geotechnical applications

  • In this paper, a novel fibrous material known as axially reinforced braided composite rods (BCRs) have been developed for reinforcement of soils. These innovative materials consist of an axial reinforcement system, comprised of longitudinally oriented core fibres, which is responsible for mechanical performance and, a braided cover, which gives a ribbed surface texture for better interfacial interactions with soils. BCRs were produced using both thermosetting (unsaturated polyester) and thermoplastic (polypropylene) matrices and synthetic (carbon, glass, HT polyethylene), as well as natural (sisal) core fibres. BCRs were characterized for tensile properties and the influence of core fibres was studied. Moreover, BCRs containing carbon fibre in the core composition were characterized for piezoresistivity and strain sensing properties under flexural deformation. According to the experimental results, the developed braided composites showed tailorable and wide range of mechanical properties, depending on the core fibres and exhibited very good strain sensing behavior.

이온선 스퍼터 증착법에 의하여 제조된 CrOx의 전기적 특성 (The Electrical Characteristics of Chromium Oxide Film Produced by Son Beam Sputter Deposition)

  • The influences of ion beam energy and reactive oxygen partial pressure on the physical and crystallographic characteristics of transition metal oxide compound(CrOx) film were studied in this paper. Chromium oxide films were deposited onto a cover-glass using ion Beam Sputter Deposition(IBSD) technique according to the various processing parameters. Crystallinity and grain size of as-deposited films were analyzed using XRD analysis. Thickness and Resistivity of the films were measured by $\alpha$-step and 4-point probe measurement. According to the XRD, XPS and resistivity results, the deposited films were the cermet type films which had crystal structure including amorphous oxide(a-oxide) phase and metal Cr phase simultaneously. The increment of the ion beam energy during the deposition process led to decreasing of metal Cr grain size and the rapid change of resistivity above the critical $O_2$ partial pressure.

  • In this paper, the fabrication of a micropump with two giant magnetostrictive films of Sm-Fe and Tb-Fe is presented. The pump consist of one silicon wafer and one cover glass. The micropump consists of an actuator diaphragm, a paired nozzle and diffuser, and two through holes. The Structure of the micropump is fabricated by the chemical vapor deposition, the etching and the sputtering of the magnetostrictive films. The deflection of the actuator measured diaphragm is measured by using the laser vibrometer and the flow rate of the micro pump is observed by using a video microscope.

  • In this study, to achieve the optimal conditions for mechanical hyper-fine pattern fabrication process, deformation behavior of the materials during indentation was studied with numerical method by ABAQUS S/W. Polymer (PMMA) and brittle materials (Si, Pyrex glass) were used as specimens, and forming conditions to reduce the elastic re cover and pile-up were proposed. The indenter was modeled a rigid surface. Minimum mesh sizes of specimens are 1 -l0nm. Comparison between the experimental data and numerical result demonstrated that the finite element approach is capable of reproducing the loading-unloading behavior of a nanoindentation test. The result of the investigation will be applied to the fabrication of the hyper-fine pattern.

대면적 터치스크린용 Index Matching ITO Galss 개발

  • 터치패널은 저항막 방식, 정전용량 방식, 적외선방식, Camera방식 등을 사용하고 있으며 현재 널리 상용화 되어 있는 방식은 정전용량 방식이다. 최근 터치스크린의 면적이 점점 커지게 되면서 점차 저저항, 고투과율을 가지는 IM ITO (Index matching ITO)를 요구하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 중대형 사이즈(15inch 이상)의 Cover glass 일체형 터치센서 구현을 위한 저저항(60ohm/sq이하), 고투과(88% 이상)의 IMITO Glass를 제작하여 전기적,광학적 특성을 분석하여 IMITO 성막조건을 최적화시키는 연구를 하였다. 또한 TSP의 Pattern 시인성을 향상시키기 위해 Index matching층을 고굴절재료와 저굴절 재료를 사용한 다층박막을 형성하여 반사율(0.5% 이하)을 최소화시켜 구현하였다.

하향식 바이오매스 가스화장치의 개발 및 평가 (Development and Assessment of a Downdraft Gasifier for Biomass Gasification)

  • A downdraft gasifier was manufactured for biomass gasification. The gasifier was designed based on the principles of gasification presented in previous studies. The pipes of 25mm diameter were used for both supplying air and discharging producer gas. Wood charcoals were mostly used for fuels. The concentration of CO ranged from 25 to 35%, comparable to the values presented in other studies. The temperature outside wall of the gasifier was measured up to $400^{\circ}C$, indicating a great heat loss. When glass wool was cover over the wall, some parts of wire mesh located in the bottom of the reactor were molten down. There were several modifications that should be made in order to improve its efficiency and obtain more stable continuous gasification, including insulation, reduction in pressure loss, durable bottom meshes, the optimum length of reaction part, and safety.

결맞음길이보다 두꺼운 두 개의 막에 덮여있는 시료의 타원식 (Expressions for Ellipsometric Constants of Samples Covered with Two Thick Incoherent Films)

  • 회전검광자 방식의 타원계 구조에 기초하여 두꺼운 막들 내부에서 일어나는 다중반사에 인한 빛의 세기를 결맞지 않도록 중첩함으로써 결맞음길이보다 두꺼운 막 두 개가 다층박막시료 위에 있을 때 적용되는 타원상수 표현들을 유도하였다. 유도된 표현들을 커버유리와 공기층 아래에 있는 산화규소 박막이 코팅되어 있는 시료의 타원법 분석에 적용하여 그 유용성을 확인하였다.
