  • In the self-directed learning, learner can construct learning course. But it is very difficult for learner to construct learning course with understanding the various learning contents's characteristics. This research proposed the method to support to learner the information of learning contents type to fit the learner as calculate the learner's learning preference when learner construct the learning course. The calculating method of learning preference used preference vector value of topic map. To apply this method, we tested 20 learning sampling group and presented that this method help to learner to construct learning course as getting the high average degree of learning satisfaction.

  • Recently, Open Course Ware service area which offers free lecture materials has been steadily growing. This change comes from a paradigm shift of education service caused by the progress of ICT and a role change of consumers. Knowledge creation from higher educational institutions is slow compared to change of society. Therefore, consumers escape from one-sided education, and perform a new role of knowledge generation. Nevertheless, there is not much of academic research of Open Course Ware. Consequently, the paper is dedicated to empirical study on effect of perceived value, information system quality and brand trust on intention to continuous use. As implications for the research, as a practical point of view, the results-an economic side that offers contents for free of charge, a contents side that is fresh, various and substantial, a systematic side that makes customers to use the system easily, a service side which takes charge of customers support and brand trust affect satisfaction and intention to continuous use - can be used for establishment of executive strategies.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of a character education program based on self-reflection using a liberal arts course at university. To this end, a single treatment group pre- and post-design was conducted in which data were collected at the beginning and end of the semester for 18 students. For statistical estimation suitable for a small sample size, a non-parametric test was performed to examine the significant mean changes of the data. This program was found to significantly improve the level of self-compassion, life satisfaction, and mental well-being of university students. Based on the above results, it was discussed that the liberal arts course for character education based on self-reflection could be useful as a character education for university students, and the implications and suggestions of the results of this study were presented.

There are 4 manuals covered about an ocean from all of 12 manuals for the course of the kindergarten education. And there are also 47 textbooks related an ocean among 145 books for an elementary course of study. It is necessary to analyze educational goal, contents, and other concerns. Here is the amendment against present manuals and textbooks. The objective for teaching the kindergarten is involved in the manuals properly. But, It is required to revise 'the oceanic artificial environment and facilities', and 'marine pollution' in contents of the manual. • The International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities(IALA) model course recommends specific aspects of basic curriculums for Vessel Traffic Services(VTS) operator education such as modules, course hours, contents, etc. Most domestic training programs for newly appointed VTS operators comply with such recommendations. The objective of this study is to determine whether such modules for VTS operator training recommended by the current IALA model course correspond to the actual opinions of VTS operators who are currently working in the field. To this end, the relative importance of basic modules for vessel traffic services operator training was analyzed using the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) method. A questionnaire was designed to include 8 modules recommended by the IALA model course, and the survey results of 52 individuals working at 5 VTS centers were analyzed. The result showed that, unlike the assumption by the IALA, domestic VTS operators viewed Nautical Knowledge as the most important modules, followed by Emergency Situations, Traffic Management, Language, Equipment, VHF Radio, Communication Co-ordination, and Personal Attributes, in that order.

  • Recently, Flipped Learning is attracting attention as a method for qualitative growth of university education. Flipped Learning is a kind of computer based education and consisted of online video lectures and offline student activities. This paper introduces the results of applying Flipped Learning for one semester to Korean linguistic norms course. As for this course, the contents related to the knowledge and information were provided individually before the class through online video, and the offline classes focused on student-led activities. When qualitatively evaluating the results of the course, students developed a more comprehensive and flexible mind set beyond the preexisting normative attitudes and showed increase in analytical and critical thinking in understanding the principles of linguistic norms and spelling system. According to these results we argue that it is necessary to actively adopt Flipped Learning in the humanities education, including the grammar classes.

  • The citation & reference writing is a necessary curricular course for undergraduate students to improve paper writing and information literacy. And academic libraries have been involved in relation to the course. In this context, this study examined and analyzed present conditions and contents of the citation & reference writing presently taught by academic libraries. The investigation shows that 9 out of 51 universities in Seoul & Gyeonggi-Do taught the course of citation & reference writing. The course was all taught under the title of 'paper writing' except one academic library, and the librarian taught this course on off-line. Some academic libraries taught only part of citation & reference works while many never taught them at all. Especially, the definition and types of plagiarism and reference works on Website were not appropriately covered. Academic libraries teaching the citation & reference writing should grow, and contents of the course should be systematically taught.
