  • Vector autoregressive (VAR) models in high dimension suffer from noisy estimates, unstable predictions and hard interpretation. Consequently, the sparse vector autoregressive (sVAR) model, which forces many small coefficients in VAR to exactly zero, has been suggested and proven effective for the modeling of high dimensional time series data. This paper studies coupling measures to select non-zero coefficients in sVAR. The basic idea based on the simulation study reveals that removing the effect of other variables greatly improves the performance of coupling measures. sVAR model coefficients are asymmetric; therefore, asymmetric coupling measures such as Granger causality improve computational costs. We propose two asymmetric coupling measures, filtered-cross-correlation and filtered-Granger-causality, based on the filtered residuals series. Our proposed coupling measures are proven adequate for heavy-tailed and high order sVAR models in the simulation study.

  • In this paper, we find the values of near-end crosstalk coefficients in dual-offset stripline of a FR-4 multilayer PCB by an analytic method and a HSPICE simulation method, define calculation errors inananlytic method and the application range, simulate near-end crosstalk coefficients of the FCT(Fast CMOS TTL) in complicated dual-offset stripline by HSPICE and analyze near-end crosstalk and far-end crosstalk coefficients in dual-offset stripline. So, we analyze coupling structure of the near-end crosstalk and far-end crosstalk in the complicated dual-offset striplines that are 1[pF] capacitors termainated, and define a coupling formula of near-end crosstalk and far-end crosstalk coefficients dual-offset striplines.

  • An analytic method of computation of the coupling coefficients between a microstripline and a die-lectric resonator is showen in this paper. The relationships among the substrate material, the ground plane, the diele-lents. The theoretically computed values of Qext are compared with the experimentally measured values of Qext in there is no dieletric spacer between them, As a result, the reflection coefficients with the dielectric spacer between the dieletric resonator and the substrate are decreased more than the reflection coefficients without the didlectric spacer between them.

  • In the previous study, car interior noise was analyzed using structural acoustic mode coupling coefficients and noise response in vehicle compartment model was simulated by the developed special purpose program. As a continued study, this paper presents a practical scheme for the interior noise reduction of a passenger car. Noisy panels on the vehicle compartment wall could be easily identified by the analysis using mode coupling coefficients. Numerical simulation for noise reduction was carried out on a simplified vehicle compartment model by using panel contribution factor and the noise reduction effect was verified by the structural modification test using Steel Skin (damping sheet).

  • This paper proposes a hybrid method for vibration analysis in the medium to high frequency ranges using Power Flow Analysis (PFA) algorithm and Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) coupling concepts. The main part of the developed method is the application of coupling loss factor (CLF) suggested in SEA to the power transmission, reflection coefficients in PI' A boundary conditions. The developed hybrid method shows very promising results with regard to the applications for the various damping loss factors in wide frequency ranges. And also this paper presents the applied results of Power Flow Finite Element Method (PFFEM) by forming the new joint element matrix with CLF to analyze the various plate structures in shape. The analytical results of automobile, complex plate structures show good agreement with those of PFFEM using the PFA coefficients.

  • Optical coupling coefficients and misalignment tolerance of 155 Mbps optical transmitter module of passive alignment technology, to be usable in ATM system, B-NT (Broadband Network Termination) system, and 10 G transmission system for information super-highway networks, were calculated, compaired with it's engineer samples, and discussed. These engineer samples of -4.5 dBm maximum output power were packaged in the method of butt coupling of flat-fiber and tested reliability evaluation. Hence the cheap packaging method of optical transmitter module was researched. rched.

  • We analyzed the excitation coefficients and the extinction ratio as a function of waveguide width, center to center distance, and angle of input waveguide for a directional coupler. The variation of thc difference between excitation coefficients is similar to that of the extinction ratio. Also, the smaller the difference between those is, the better the extinction ratio is. This concept will have application to devices using optical coupling.

  • This paper presents the method for structure borne noise analysis of a flexible body in multibody system. The proposed method is the superposition method using flexible muitibody dynamic analysis and finite element one. This method is executed in 3 steps. In the la step, time dependent quantities such as dynamic loads, modal coordinates ana gross body motion of the flexible body are calculated efficiently through flexible multibody dynamic analysis. And frequency response functions are computed using Fourier transforms of those time dependent quantities. In the 2$\^$nd/ step, acoustic pressure coefficients are obtained through structure-acoustic coupling analysis by finite element analysis. In the final step, frequency responses of acoustic pressure at the acoustic nodes are recovered through linear superposition of frequency response functions with acoustic pressure coefficients. The accuracy of the proposed method is verified in the numerical example of a simple car model.
