  • The suggested coupled system was analyzed using FRF and mode analysis. The eigen-mode of FRF analysis is consistent with that of conventional FFT in spectrum. Also, three numerical responses of second order system, which are coupled, was obtained using the Runge-Kutta Gill method. The displacement, velocity and acceleration response were calculated for the numerical analysis of coupled system and the displacement response was used for the calculation of FRF of this system. Using the mixed response of 1st and 2nd mode in example, the FRF was analysed for the analysis of mixed mode coupled system. Also, its mode shape was acquired by solving the eigen problem of coupled system.

  • This study examines the impact of the Internet on the organizational innovation. With the introduction of digital technology, the entire organizational process and structure is now being restructured. The purpose of this study is to develop a framework to help classify the organizational innovations and understand organizational innovation processes. This study suggests that the wide diffusion of digital technology has affected the modularization of the organizational routines and processes. The modularization of knowledge and organization give rise to a new organizational architecture, a modular architecture. In the Fordist regime, the characteristics of organizations were depicted as vertically integrated and tightly coupled system. The organizational processes and routines were tightly linked and integrated. However, the diffusion of Internet, which has a tendency to disassemble this tightly coupled system, has resulted in the emergence of loosely coupled and vertically disintegrated system. Eventually the modular architectures are emerging as a new organizational paradigm in the post-Fordist regime. In this study, the modes of organizational innovation is classified as follows. If the organizational innovation enhances both existing organizational components and tile tightly coupled architecture, it is incremental innovation (Mode 1): if it destroys both existing components and the tightly coupled architecture, it is radical innovation (Mode 4): however if only the tightly coupled architecture is transformed into the modular architecture and the codification of organizational component is enhanced, the innovation is architectural (Mode 3). The last one is component innovation (Mode 2), in which existing organizational components are destroyed but tightly coupled architecture is enhanced. It is argued that the organizational innovation process follows Mode I$\longrightarrow$ Mode II $\longrightarrow$ Mode III $\longrightarrow$ Mode IV in order.

  • Vibration mode localization and frequency loci veering in disordered coupled beam system are studied in this paper using finite element analysis. Two beams coupled with transverse and rotational springs are examined. Small disorders in the physical parameters such as Young's modulus, mass density or span length of the substructure are introduced in the investigation of the mode localization and frequency loci veering phenomena. The effect of disorder in the elastic support on the mode localization phenomenon is also discussed. It is found that an asymmetric disorder in the weakly coupled system will lead to the occurrence of mode localization and frequency loci phenomena.

  • In this paper, the coupled and the non-coupled vibration mode AE sensor for GIS were simulated by finite element analysis and manufactured, and characterized. The maximum sensitivity was 64.3 dB when the resonant frequency of the coupled vibration mode AE sensor was 166 kHz and the maximum sensitivity was 58.9 dB when the resonant frequency of the non-coupled mode AE sensor was 265 kHz. The coupled vibration mode AE sensor responded higher than the non-coupled vibration mode AE sensor at the partial discharge detection in GIS.

  • In this successive study, the analytical realization of coupled system was introduced using the times series identification and spectrum analysis, which was compared with conventional FFT spectrum. Also, the numerical responses of second order system, which is coupled, were solved using the numerical calculation of Runge-Kutta Gill method. After numerical analysis, the displacement, velocity and acceleration were acquired. Among them, the response of displacement was used for the analysis of time series spectrum. Among several time series, the ARMAX algorithm was proved to be appropriate for the spectrum analysis of the coupled system. Using the separated response of 1st and 2nd mode, the mode was calculated separately. And the responses of mixed modes were also analyzed for calculation of the mixed modes in the coupled system.

  • In land navigation applications, two kinds of GPS/DR integration schemes are commonly used; the loosely-coupled integration scheme and the tightly-coupled one. The loosely-coupled integration filter has a simple structure and is easy to implement. When the number of visible satellites is insufficient, however, it cannot calibrate the errors of the DR sensors. On the contrary the tigthly-coupled integration filter can sup-press the growth of the error in the DR output even when the visibility is poor. However, it has larger com-putation load due to the state dimension and is inconsistent because of the variation in the measurement dimension. This paper presents a GPS/DR integration scheme with dual integration mode. During when the number of visible satellites is sufficient, the proposed scheme operates in a loosely-coupled integration mode. When the visibility becomes poor, it is switched into a tightly-coupled integration mode. Consequently, the pro-posed scheme can calibrate the DR sensors even when the visibility is poor. In addition, its computation time remains constant even if the number of visible satellites increases. Field experiment results show that the performance of the proposed integration method is almost similar to that of the tightly-coupled one.

  • The response characteristics of AE (acoustic emission) sensors with a coupled vibration mode and a non-coupled vibration mode were investigated according to PD(partial discharge) quantities in XLPE (cross linked polyethylene) sheets and craft papers immersed in insulating oil. The response voltages of a coupled vibration mode AE sensor were linearly proportional to the PD quantities up to 1,000 pC in XLPE sheets, while a non-coupled vibration mode AE sensor did not show the similar linearity. In case of a test of craft papers immersed in insulating oil, a linearity between response voltages and PD quantities was observed up to 550 pC, but after that, similar linearity between response voltage of any types of AE sensor and PD quantities was not shown.

  • This study dealt with the free vibration of two identical rectangular plates coupled with fluid. In order to investigate the vibration characteristics of fluid-coupled rectangular plates, an analytical method based on the finite Fourier series expansion and Rayleigh-Ritz method was suggested. A commercial computer code, ANSYS was used to perform finite element analysis and we investigated the vibration characteristics with mode shapes and natural frequencies. As a result, the transverse vibration modes, in-phase and out-of-phase, were observed alternately in the fluid-coupled system. The effect of fluid bounding and plate boundary condition on the fluid-coupled natural frequency were investigated. It was shown that the mode numbers increased, the normalized natural frequencies monotonically increased.

  • There are a large number of papers in the literature dealing with the free vibration analysis of single/multi-span uniform beam with multiple spring-mass systems, but that of coupled multi-span beams carrying spring-mass attachments is rare. In this note, free vibration analysis of a weakly coupled beam system with spring-mass attachments is conducted. The mode localization and frequency loci veering phenomena of the coupled beam system are investigated. Studies show that for weakly coupled beam system with spring-mass attachments, the mode localization and frequency loci veering will occur once there is a disorder in the system.

  • In this work, a mathematical modeling of SAW coupled mode in SAW resonator filter, which is very useful in analyzing the characteristics of periodic electrode structure such as SAW reflective array and inter-digital transducers. was considered by mathematical analytic approach. The design and simulation method for resonator filter was also proposed by equivalent transduction matrix using this mathematical modeling. In order for a designer to simulate, and to design the coupled mode SAW resonator filters effectively that could be applied to mobile communication system, a design simulator for coupled mode filter was implemented by graphic user interface, and it was investigated by designing and analyzing practical SAW coupled mode resonator filter from a view point of application of this simulator.
