Acoustic Analysis in the Payload Fairing of Launch Vehicle (위성 발사체 페어링 내부음향 해석)

  • Acoustic load from rocket propulsion system is main source of random vibration working on the payload. To protect payload from this acoustic load, additional APS(acoustic protection system) is generally applied. Noise reduction capacity of APS can be verified through acoustic test and vibro-acoustic coupled analysis. This paper compared the results of acoustic test and vibro-acoustic coupled analysis about KSLV-I payload fairing with APS.

  • In this paper, a cylindrical cavity resonator oscillator with high Q factor is designed and fabricated to improve the phase noise characteristic. A cavity resonator is coupled to oscillating circuit using aperture hole. Measured results show that the cylindrical cavity resonator oscillator (CRO) for Ku-band has less phase noise than the dielectric resonator oscillator (DRO) with the same oscillating circuit. It has output power of +3.92 dBm at the center frequency 13.4015250 GHz and phase noise of -109 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset.

  • In this paper, Power Flow Analysis (PFA) method has been applied to the prediction of vibration energy density and intensity of coupled shell structures in the medium-to-high frequency ranges. To consider the wave transformation at joint between shell elements, power transmission and reflection coefficients are investigated for various joint angles, and here Donnell-Mushtari thin shell theory has been used. Modeling of ambient noise in ocean environment using coupled mode (연성모드법을 이용한 해양 배경소음 모델링)

  • A model is developed for the calculation of sea surface generated ambient noise in the range dependent ocean environment. The sources are located in the horizontal plane all around and their depths are at the near-surface. The receiver array is located in the range dependent ocean waveguide. One-way coupled mode method is used to model the acoustic propagation between the sources and receiver in the range dependent waveguide, and the cross spectral density matrix of noise is derived. In simulation, noise intensity, beamforming result and coherence function are calculated from the cross spectral density matrix. These results are compared with those in the range independent environment. The modeling result shows the effect of the vertical directionality and asymmetry characteristics of the horizontal plane.

  • In this paper, we propose a new varactor coupled line structure and design the VCO using the proposed structure. The proposed coupled line structure removes the reflected signals from the varactor diode using an added $\lambda$/4 transmission line. The frequency synthesizers are designed using the PLL technique at Ku-band. The synthesizer using the proposed coupled structure has 38 MHz frequency tuning range and -97 dBc/Hz phase noise characteristic at 100 KHz offset frequency. The measured results show improved tuning range as well as the improved phase noise characteristics compared to the conventional designs.

  • Design equations of coupling plates, which connects floor beam of the upper modular unit and overhead beam of the lower one in order to improve serviceability in vibration, are proposed. End conditions of the coupled beams is semi-rigid and the optimal location of the coupling plates are assumed. Rotational constraints for both ends of the coupling plate modeled with beam elements are released and flexibility method is applied to obtain deflection equations of the coupled beam. Proposed equations are defined using the flexibility of the coupling plate, of which size can be determined inversely. Based on numerical analysis, coefficients of the design equations are calibrated and the revised equations are verified to be useful in the design of the coupled beam.

  • The coupled vibration occurs between traveling vehicle and bridge, when vehicle runs on it. The natural frequency of this coupled system is dependent on the contact position of vehicle and bridge, that is, time-varying system. The calculations of these natural frequencies are very complicated, and often carried out by using Green function theory, series. But, these methods have any limitations, such as, supporting condition, boundary condition. In this paper, on the coupled system constructed by the concentrated mass and elastically supported beam, an analytical method of natural frequency is proposed by using Fourier sine transformation. The results are compared and discussed with numerically calculated ones.
