Korea follows the slope design criteria during construction. It was enacted by the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs. There are cases where the Soil-nail is designed as a measure to secure slope stability. The arrangement of the soil-nail may be arranged at equal intervals or may be arranged differently depending on the soil failure model. The optimum design of the countermeasure method is determined by securing stability of the slope through optimization of dimensions and shape. However, when uniform nails are placed at low elevations in slopes, the standard safety factor is exceeded, which may hinder economic design. It is preferable to arrange the reinforcement of the nails over the entire slope. When the horizontal spacing of the nails was topology optimized according to the slope height, it was possible to minimize the amount of reinforcement while satisfying the standard safety factor. Since the active load is reduced in the section where the slope height is lowered, the safety factor after reinforcement may be excessively increased. Therefore, the phase optimization method is proposed as an economical optimal design method using the reinforcing shape density. In addition, a relational expression was designed to optimize the horizontal spacing by slope height.

In this study, we determined the correlation between the wave characteristics and the change in the area of Haeundae Beach, conducted regression analysis between the wave characteristics and the change in beach area, and derived a formula for calculating the change in beach area. The change in beach area was calculated by applying the derived formula to wave observation data corresponding to a period of approximately 10 months, and the formula was subsequently validated by comparing the obtained results with the observed area. It is found that the error associated with the formula for calculating the change in beach area ranges from 1.5 m to 2.7 m based on the average beach width, and the correlation coefficient corresponding to the observed area ranges from 0.91 to 0.94. Furthermore, it is observed that the change in beach area is af ected by the wave direction in the western zone, wave height in the central zone, and wave height and wave period in the eastern zone. These results can contribute to understanding the impact of a coastal improvement project on the beach area fluctuation characteristics of Haeundae Beach and the ef ectiveness of such a coastal improvement project. By applying the aforementioned derived formula to highly accurate wave prediction data, the change in beach area can be calculated and incorporated for predicting significant long-term changes in beach areas. Furthermore, such a prediction can be considered as the basis for making decisions while establishing preemptive countermeasure policies to prevent coastal erosion.

Owing to the abnormal weather conditions due to global warming, carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology has attracted global attention as a countermeasure to reduce CO2 emissions. In the Pohang CCS demonstration project in South Korea, 100 tons of CO2 were successfully injected into the subsurface CO2 storage in early 2017. However, after the 2017 Pohang earthquake, the Pohang CCS demonstration project was suspended due to an increase in social concerns about the safety of the CCS project. In this study, to reconfirm the structural suitability of the CO2 storage site in the Pohang Basin, we employed seismic imaging based on reverse-time migration (RTM) to analyze small-scale ocean-bottom seismic data, which have not been utilized in previous studies. Compared with seismic images using marine streamer data, the continuity of subsurface layers in the RTM image using the ocean-bottom seismic data is improved. Based on the obtained subsurface image, we discuss the structural suitability of the Pohang CO2 storage site.
This study was conducted to prepare a countermeasure for turnover due to the effect of education satisfaction at franchise stores on turnover factors through the medium of education requirements. In the method of collecting data, 237 copies of the questionnaire method were used as the final data. The results are first, the analysis of educational requirements in general characteristics shows that academic background (F=5.655, p<).01), Analysis of the factors for turnover shows that position (t=-2.809, p<).Significant differences were shown in 01. Second, educational satisfaction is the educational requirement (r=-.16, p<).The correlation between 05) and turnover factors (r=-.18) is significant, and the educational requirement is turnover factors (r=.53, p<).It is shown to be a significant static correlation with 01. Third, designers (B=.25), t=2.332, p<.05) and educational requirements (B=.88, t=9.313, p<).001) has been shown to have significant static effects. Fourth, the educational requirements for educational satisfaction and turnover factors are significant (β=.52, p<).We can see that it is fully mediated by 001.Therefore, it is believed that it will be possible to investigate quarterly satisfaction and demand after communication and training with workers at direct stores, and reduce turnover through various curriculum education.
The performance of the relief wells installed for the purpose of controlling seepage of the dam embankment is affected by various parameters such as diameter, spacing, penetration rate, permeability coefficient of the ground, thickness of the foundation layer. Therefore, when the relief wells are adopted for the purpose of reducing seepage pressure, these parameters should be sufficiently reviewed to determine the installation specifications of the relief wells. This study evaluated the effect of the length of the geosynthetics blanket on the performance of the relief wells installed in the downstream part of the dam embankment with blankets in the upstream and downstream part of the dam embankment as countermeasure methods to control seepage of the dam embankment. In the relationship between the length of the upstream and downstream blanket and the discharge, the discharge of the relief wells decreases as the length of the upstream blanket increases, and on the other hand, the discharge of the relief wells decreases as the length of the downstream blanket increases. In the upper and lower blanket length-spacing relationship, as the length of the upstream blanket increases, the spacing of the relief wells increases and as the length of the downstream blanket increases, the spacing of the relief wells decreases. Therefore, when installing the relief wells in parallel with the blanket, it was found that increasing the length of the upstream blanket is more efficient than increasing the length of the downstream blanket in order to minimize the discharge of seepage discharge and to ensure economic feasibility by wider installation of the relief wells.

Recycled aggregates show high water absorption rate compared to natural aggregates due to microcrack developed during production process and adhered cement pastes at the surface of recycled aggregates. This leads to the deterioration of mechanical properties and slow work flow. Currently it is getting hard to satisfy high demand for natural aggregates. Utilizing recycled aggregate more widely may be a substitutable countermeasure for the shortage of natural resources. In this study, two-stage mixing approach(TSMA) suggested by Tam et al. is used to produce recycled aggregate concrete(RAC) with 100 % replacement of coarse natural aggregate and tests for compressive strength, elastic modulus, and chloride ion diffusion coefficient are conducted to find out the effect of TSMA compared to normal mixing method. According to experimental result compressive strength and elastic modulus of RAC with TSMA was superior to those of RAC with normal mixing irrespective of water-cement ratio, and in some cases mechanical properties of RAC with TSMA approached to those of natural aggregate concrete(NAC). However, chloride ion diffusion coefficient of RAC was higher than that of NAC. This illustrates that TSMA is not an appropriate method in reducing chloride ion diffusion coefficient, resulting in inconsequential contribution of TSMA to the durability of RAC.
The drought resulting from insufficient rainfall compared to the amount in an ordinary year can significantly impact a broad area at the same time. Another feature of this disaster is hard to recognize its onset and disappearance. Therefore, a reliable and fast way of predicting both the suffering area and the amount of water shortage from the upcoming drought is a key issue to develop a countermeasure of the disaster. However, the available drought scenarios are about 50 events that have been observed in the past. Due to the limited number of events, it is difficult to predict the water shortage in a case where the pattern of a natural disaster is different from the one in the past. To overcome the limitation, in this study, we applied the four RCP climate change scenarios to the water balance model and the annual amount of water shortage from 360 drought events was estimated. In the following chapter, the deep neural network model was trained with the SPEI values from the RCP scenarios and the amount of water shortage as the input and output, respectively. The trained model in each sub-basin enables us to easily and reliably predict the water shortage with the SPEI values in the past and the predicted meteorological conditions in the upcoming season. It can be helpful for decision-makers to respond to future droughts before their onset.

Cyber attacks are increasing worldwide, and attacks on personal privacy such as CCTV and IP camera hacking are also increasing. If you search for IP camera hacking methods in spaces such as YouTube, SNS, and the dark web, you can easily get data and hacking programs are also on sale. If you use an IP camera that has vulnerabilities used by hacking programs, you easily get hacked even if you change your password regularly or use a complex password including special characters, uppercase and lowercase letters, and numbers. Although news and media have raised concerns about the security of IP cameras and suggested measures to prevent damage, hacking incidents continue to occur. In order to prevent such hacking damage, it is necessary to identify the cause of the hacking incident and take concrete measures. First, we analyzed weak account settings and web server vulnerabilities of IP cameras, which are the causes of IP camera hacking, and suggested solutions. In addition, as a specific countermeasure against hacking, it is proposed to add a function to receive a notification when an IP camera is connected and a function to save the connection history. If there is such a function, the fact of damage can be recognized immediately, and important data can be left in arresting criminals. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a method to increase the safety from hacking by using the connection notification function and logging function of the IP camera.
Daechung Reservoir has been suffering from severe cyanobacterial blooming periodically due to the water pollutants from the watershed, especially nutrients from nonpoint sources. As a countermeasure, an artificial wetland was constructed to mitigate the pollutant load from the watershed by utilizing the vegetation. We investigated the water quality of the influent and outflow of the wetland during years 2014~2020 to evaluate the performance of pollutant removal through the wetland. Major pollutants (e.g. BOD, COD, SS, T-N, and T-P) were largely reduced during the retention in the wetland while nutrients removal was more efficient than that of organic matters. Pollutant removal efficiency for different inflow concentrations was also investigated to estimate the wetland's capability as a way of managing nonpoint sources. The efficiency of water treatment was significantly higher when inflow concentrations were above 75th percentile for all pollutant, implying the wetland can be applied to the pre-treatment of high pollution load including initial rainfall runoff. Furthermore, the yearly variation of removal efficiency for seven years was analyzed to better understand long-term trends in water treatment of the wetland. The annual treatment efficiency of T-P was very high in the early stages of vegetation growth with high concentration of inflow water. However, it was confirmed that the concentration of inflow water decreased, vegetation stabilized, and the treatment efficiency gradually decreased as the soil was saturated. The findings of the study suggest that artificial wetlands can be an effective method for controlling harmful algal blooms by alleviating pollutant load from the tributaries of Daechung Reservoir.
