Patient's characteristics such as gender, age, periods of hypertension, education level, perception of the blood pressure, hypertension management education, place of living, body mass index, depression and diabetes were found to have statistically significant relationship with the outpatient visits. Practical Implications: There is a need to select patients with high blood pressure who are unlikely to visit for hypertension treatments based on the study results. For those, establishing a personalized management plan such as health education and counseling programs will be helpful for the successful implementation of national chronic disease management program.

  • This study examined the opinions of dentists on dental hygienists' practice and attempted to use it as the basis for the revision and modification of the legal system associated with dental hygienists. The subjects of this study were a total 15 dentists, including two from Gyeonggi, two from Gangwon, two from Gyeongsang, two from Jeolla, two from Chungcheong, and two from Seoul, who were surveyed face-to-face. This study revealed that from the perspective of dentists, the most important job of dental hygienists was scaling, and the most difficult job was patient counseling and response. From the perspective of dentists, there is a difference between what the dental hygienists actually perform and what is legal, and there is a high need for change. The inclusion of dental hygienists in the category of medical personnel should be accomplished to cover the practice of dental care support, and dentists opinionated that it is appropriate for dental hygienists to be included in the category of medical personnel because they directly perform oral health-related procedures. A careful review of the dental hygienists' scope of work should be performed to ensure that revisions to the law are made in accordance with the dental hygienists' actual practice. Further, it is necessary to revise the Medical Law and include dental hygienists among the medical personnel and simultaneously revise the scope of work of dental hygienists to reflect the actual dental practice.

Data was collected from 201 social workers in three cities from March to May 2020 using structured questionnaires. Data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlations, and hierarchical multiple regression. Results showed that burnout significantly differed according to age, marital status, and career among the general characteristics. In the relationships between major variables, burnout showed a significant positive correlation with job stress and showed significant negative correlations with stress coping strategies and empathy ability. The major factors affecting burnout were job stress and empathy ability, which explained 72.3% of the variance. The results of this study suggest that job stress and empathy ability are important factors for burnout. Findings indicate a need to decrease job stress and increase empathy ability to prevent the burnout of social workers. Further studies are needed to examine burnout prevention strategies for social workers.

  • This study compared the job satisfaction and job importance of school dietitians according to various school types in Sejong. One hundred and twenty-six school dietitians working in kindergartens (n=36), elementary schools (n=42), middle schools (n=22), and high schools (n=26) participated in this questionnaire survey. The subjects were divided into four groups according to the school types. Half of the subjects were over 41 years of age, with 64.3% graduating from graduate school. The percentage of nutrition teachers was the highest in middle schools at 95.4%, followed by the elementary school at 90.5% and high school at 73.1%, whereas 100% of the kindergarten dietitians were not nutrition teachers (P<0.001). The percentage of the running status of nutrition education classes/activities was lowest in kindergartens (P<0.001). The job satisfaction score in the job itself area was significantly lower in kindergartens and high schools than in middle schools (P<0.01). The satisfaction scores of human relationships, working environment, personnel evaluation, and welfare did not differ significantly among the schools. As for the Job importance, the scores of nutrition counseling were significantly lower in middle school than in elementary and high schools (P<0.05). In cooking and distribution management, high schools were less important than other school levels (P<0.05). These findings highlight the need for the placement of nutrition teachers in kindergarten to promote nutrition education, the reduction of workload for school dietitians/nutrition teachers and additional placement of dietitians by the appropriate workload such as the number of people and meals to serve.
