The purpose of this study is to investigate the incidence and dynamics of permarital abuse among never-married college students. 21.3% of 497 male and female respondents reported that they had experienced premarital violence at least once. Types of violence most frequently used were pushing or shoving slapping and throwing objects. It is interesting that both victims and aggressors interpret violent acts as expression of love most of all. Behavioral response to violent acts were to try to make up to talk to the partner and to apologize. In general the respondents had negative attitudes toward violence in premarital and marital relationships. Males showed more positive attiutudes toward violence than females. This sex difference appeared to have some inflence on marital abuse, In is suggested that counseling program and shelter for victims of severe violence need to be developed.

This study examined books of youngsters who struggled with typical problems in adolescent period. Literature could be used as an effective tool for helping young people cope with developmental change. In bibliotherapy, the counselor provides guidance in the solution of personal problems through directed reading. Young people would solve and overcome their problems after reading useful books. So we need to carefully select books for the Youth. Selecting high-quality books that match the young person's reading level and interest were very important. Twenty three books that offer solutions that are likely to be successful in the young people's situation were gathered by 322 participants. Method of collecting materials was through a questionnaire. In addition results based on obtaining books showed that counselors provided reading guidances and were concerned with quality materials.

In this paper, we propose that college counselors be more knowledgable of adult ADHD symptoms and develop better understandings of subtypes of the disorder. The findings in this study show that college students with different subtypes of ADHD symptoms experience different types of psychological maladjustment as well as different levels of psychological distress. Specifically, combined-type trait group show the highest levels of each of subscale of SCL-90-R among the other groups (i.e., normal, predominant inattentive subtype, hyperactive-impulsive type). Furthermore, combined typed trait group show significantly higher levels of animosity and paranoid ideation than the others. Therefore, college counselors need to provide effective interventions addressing intense emotion and cognitive distortion among college students with ADHD combined symptoms.
It is common that geriatric patients are on several medications at the same time. With this situation on hand, this study has collected prescriptions of individual geriatric patient and investigated possible drug interactions. In order to minimize the drug interactions and protect those patients from adverse reactions of medication, the gradual implementation and management of the medication history of each individual patient, the establishment of medication counseling system on medicines particularly in need of obligatory advice, the use of an inspection system on drug interactions at the time of prescription, and the implementation of a patient monitoring system on the drugs with narrow margin of safety at hospitals.
This study was conducted to contribute to the expansion of activity areas for school nurses in the field of health promotion services whose importance are increasing daily. To achieve such goals the researcher proposed that health promotion programs for obesity management in overweight schoolchildren conducted by literature review to apply to school settings. In this program, the principal components developed a behavior modification program and an exercise program, which could be educated and managed by a nursing staff during for 9 weeks, three times per week, 60 minutes each. The program consisted of exercise, health education. health counseling, and a direct nursing care. This kind of approach may support the need of behavior modification programs and exercise programs on a regular base via the social organization, which may mean an intentional change of life style. A comprehensive approach to health promotion services proposed by this research would contribute greatly to the effectiveness of school health services and to promote health in overweight schoolchildren.
Chorionic villus sampling has gained importance as a tool for early cytogenetic diagnosis with a shift toward first trimester screening. First trimester screening using nuchal translucency and biomarkers is effective for screening. Chorionic villus sampling generally is performed at 10-12 weeks by either the transcervical or transabdominal approach. There are two methods of analysis; the direct method and the culture method. While the direct method may prevent maternal cell contamination, the culture method may be more representative of the true fetal karyotype. There is a concern for mosaicism which occurs in approximately 1% of cases, and mosaic results require genetic counseling and follow-up amniocentesis or fetal blood sampling. In terms of complications, procedure-related pregnancy loss rates may be the same as those for amniocentesis when undertaken in experienced centers. When the procedure is performed after 9 weeks gestation, the risk of limb reduction is not greater than the risk in the general population. At present, chorionic villus sampling is the gold standard method for early fetal karyotyping; however, we anticipate that improvements in noninvasive prenatal testing methods, such as cell free fetal DNA testing, will reduce the need for invasive procedures in the near future.
