Preference of Women Cosmetics Consumption Value on SNS Features of Cosmetics Brands (여성의 화장품 소비가치에 따른 화장품 브랜드의 SNS 특성 선호도)

  • In order to use cosmetics brands SNS effectively and establish strategy, the purpose of this study is to provide consumer date. According to cosmetics consumption value groups, this study examined each cosmetics consumption value group's level of concern of three cosmetics brands SNS features, informativity, enjoyment and interactivity. For the data, questionnaire was collected by 198 women, and the data were measured by ANOVA, factor analysis, cluster analysis and Ducan test. According to cluster analysis cosmetics consumption value groups were divided into four groups, unconcern group, hedonic value pursuit group, function of brand value pursuit group, high concern group. The results of the study are as follows: First, high concern group thought highly of all cosmetics brands SNS features, including informativity, enjoyment and interactivity. In addition all consumer groups were concerned informativity rather then enjoyment and interactivity. Second, comparing with high concern group, other groups which include unconcern group, hedonic value pursuit group and function of brand value pursuit group were not concerned about cosmetics brands SNS features' enjoyment and interactivity. Except informativity, hedonic value pursuit group and unconcern group were more concerned interactivity than enjoyment. While, high concern group and function of brand value pursuit group were more concerned enjoyment than interactivity.

Type and Price of Cosmetics Brand Selection by Cosmetics Consumption Value (화장품소비가치에 따른 화장품유형 및 가격별 국내.외상표선택)

  • This study identifies the dimensions of cosmetics consumption values and the differences in cosmetics brand selection through a cosmetics consumption value group and by product type. The subjects of the study were females over age 20 living in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province between January and February 2008; 427 questionnaires were used for analysis. For data analysis the SPSS 17.0 statistical program was used, and principal component analysis, factor analysis using Varimax rotation, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ reliability testing, cluster analysis, ANOVA test, and Duncan test were conducted. The results and conclusions of this study are as follows. The dimensions of cosmetics consumption values were found to be the pleasure value, the fashion value, the function value, the brand ostentation value, and the appearance ostentation value. Five types of groups by factor were identified: the group seeking function, the group seeking fashion and brand ostentation, the group seeking pleasure, the group seeking appearance and brand ostentation, and the indifferent group. Second, The group attaching importance to functionality was more likely to select high-priced brands while the group attaching importance to brand awareness were more likely to seek foreign brands, irrespective of product type. As far as base and color cosmetics are concerned, the group attaching importance to pleasure was more likely to select low, medium, and high priced foreign brands, as well as low and medium priced domestic brands. As for body products, the group attaching importance to fashion and brand awareness tended to select low, medium, and high priced domestic brands, as well as high priced foreign brands. By simultaneously purchasing high, medium, and low priced brands, these groups display an ambivalent consumption pattern. This study identified the differing dimensions around cosmetics consumption values and cosmetic brand selection. The research findings helps cosmetic companies set product prices and contributes to cosmetic marketing strategies.

Consumers' Type According to Narcissistic Orientation and Consumption Value of Apparel Products and Cosmetics (나르시시즘성향에 따른 소비자유형과 의류제품 및 화장품 소비가치)

  • The primary purposes of this study were to classify consumer's type according to narcissistic orientation of consumer and then to reveal consumer's perception differences on consumption value of apparel products and cosmetics subject to the types. Data were collected from 194 female college students in Ulsan. It was analyzed by frequency analysis, factor analysis, cluster analysis and MANOVA, ANOVA using SPSS Win 12.0. The results were as follows: First, consumer's types classified according to narcissistic orientation were non-narcissist, high-narcissist, leadership and self-absorption. Second, in the consumption value of apparel products case, there were significant differences in effective value, symbolic value and sensitive value among the types. Third, in the consumption value of cosmetics case, there were significant differences in sensitive value and effective value among the types.

Analysis of Advertisement for Men's cosmetics on Magazines (잡지에 나타난 남성화장품 광고 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the consumption value and characteristic of content in cosmetics & perfume advertisement in men's fashion magazines in order to understand the changes of men's cosmetics market which is recently getting great attention along with the craze for 'florally handsome men', and 'eolzzang'(=gorgeous face), and examine the changes of the culture of men's make-up. I selected Esquire which had firstly produced men's fashion magazine in Korea, and implemented the content analysis, the quantitative analysis method, by separating linguistic elements ken visual elements. The results are as follows: In the analysis of consumption value revealed in the linguistic elements of cosmetics advertisement, emotion value was the highest in both cosmetics and perfume, while function value was the second highest in cosmetics and rarity value was the second highest in perfume. About the changes of content characteristics of visual elements, in both cosmetics and perfume advertisement, there were a lot of visual advertisements focused on figures without the mixture of linguistic expressions. Between advertisement in 1990s and that in 2000s, there were meaningful differences only in types and object of meaning of used symbols.

  • Domestic cosmetics companies are striving to protect the environment and solve environmental problems through ESG management. This study analyzed the relationship and influence between the perceived consumption value and purchasing behavior of upcycling cosmetics according to environmental values for MZ generation women in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. In addition, based on the research results, it was intended to provide basic data for product development and marketing strategies related to upcycling cosmetics. First, all variables were found to be positive (+) correlation. Second, it was found that the higher the environmental value, the higher the perceived consumption value of upcycling cosmetics. Third, it was found that the higher the environmental values, the higher the purchasing behavior. Therefore, it is hoped that it will induce a positive consumption value for upcycling cosmetics, and that the cosmetics industry will be helpful as basic data for the development of related products and the establishment of differentiated marketing strategies.

Effects of Chinese Consumer lifestyles on perceived value, purchase intention, and satisfaction of Korean medium & low price cosmetics (중국 소비자 라이프스타일이 한국 중·저가 화장품의 지각된 가치, 구매의도, 만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • Chinese economic growth and Chinese adoption of foreign cultures have changed varied phenomena, consumption patterns and consumer life-styles, in particular. In order to understand behavior of Chinese consumers, it is critical to explore their lifestyles and its effects on their purchase behavior. For attaining this goal, our research classifies Chinese consumer lifestyles related to cosmetics, into four types: brand oriented, price sensitive, rational consumption, and impulse buying. The research further analyzes the effects of consumer lifestyles on perceived value, satisfaction, and purchase intention in each case of skin care cosmetics and make-up cosmetics. Significant difference are found in perceived value, satisfaction, and purchase intention of skin care cosmetics exists between brand-oriented type and rational consumption type. This is also the case between rational consumption type and impulse buying type. Purchase intention is only found to be different between rational consumption type and price sensitive type. In case of make-up cosmetics, significant differences in perceived value, satisfaction, and purchase intention in the pairs of brand-oriented type and rational consumption type, rational consumption type and impulse buying type, and rational consumption type and price sensitive type. This implies rational consumption type should be more appropriate target consumers in the Chinese cosmetics market.

An Analysis of Change in Consumption Values on Advertisements for Man′s Cosmetics (남성화장품 광고에 나타난 내용특성 및 소비가치 분석)

  • Under the social conditions that an understanding of a men change socially and men's interests in their appearances are on the increase, this research intends to study and analyze the changes of people's sensibility of values on ads for men's cosmetics, which is said to be performed the social, cultural function reflecting the social consciousness, the value and the idea creating a new one. The documents for the research was sindonga. The documents were analyzed quantitatively in regard of contents of a linguistic expression and a visual expression showing on advertisements for man's cosmetics, a time series analysis. As a result of analyzing the consumption value through headline of an ad, the emotional value took the highest percentage extending whole periods. Beside emotional value, a time series analysis showed that social values appeared to the major themes in the 1970s, and functional values was important themes in 1980s, and the social values and functional values appeared equally during 1990-2002.

The Effect of Consumption Value on Eco Friendly Cosmetics Purchasing Behavior (소비가치가 친환경 화장품 구매행동에 미치는 영향)

  • This study has verified the consumer effectiveness market influence and relationship with cosmetic purchasing behavior through a covariance model. A female consumer in her 20s or older who had purchased eco cosmetics within the last six months and 300 copies were used for final analysis through panels of online professional research institutes from May 17 to May 30, 2020. As a result of the analysis, functional value, social value, and green consumption value were derived from the consumption value of eco cosmetics. Social value and green consumption value have been shown to have significant impact on consumer effectiveness and market influence but functional value relationships have not been identified. In addition, consumer effectiveness and market influence were found to promote eco cosmetics purchase behavior. Through this study we have identified the importance of perceived environmental issues (consumer effectiveness and market influence) in purchasing eco cosmetics and hope that they will be used as useful data for developing eco products and establishing marketing strategies based on understanding of consumers.

Analyzing the Effects of Consumer Value Perception, Environmental Motives, and Perceived Barriers on the Purchase Intention of Vegan Cosmetics (비건 화장품의 구매의도에 영향을 미치는 소비자 가치 인식, 환경적 동기 및 지각된 장벽의 영향 분석)

  • Amidst the rapid growth of the vegan cosmetics market, consumer orientation towards environmental and ethical values has been intensifying. However, research on this subject remains limited. This study delves into the relationship between consumer value perception, environmental motivations, and perceived barriers influencing the purchase intentions of vegan cosmetics. Conducting a PLS-SEM analysis on a sample of 300 women with experience using vegan cosmetics, it was discerned that monetary value, social value, brand value, emotional value, quality value, and environmental knowledge play significant roles in influencing purchase intentions. The moderating effect analysis highlighted image barriers and value barriers as crucial factors. Through Importance-Performance Map Analysis, emotional value emerged as a pivotal element in strategizing to strengthen the purchasing intentions for vegan cosmetics. This research contributes both theoretically and practically to enhancing the competitive edge of the vegan cosmetics market and promoting sustainable consumption behavior.

The Cosmetic Purchase Behavior of Women in Their 20s (I) - Focused on Consumption Value - (20대 여성의 화장품 구매행동에 관한 연구 (I) - 소비가치를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to divide respondents by consumption values, and to examine the differences in their cosmetic purchase behavior. Cosmetic purchase behavior consisted of variables such as purchase frequency, purchase amount, place of purchase, purchase reason, reason for using cosmetics, purchase propensity, degree of using information source, and selection criteria. A survey was conducted with 308 women between the ages 20 and 29 from December 5th to 10th 2016. Data collected from the respondents through an Internet survey were analyzed using descriptive statistics, factor analyses, cluster analysis, analyses of variance and chi-square tests. Four consumption value dimensions emerged that were termed emotional, differentiated individuality-pursuing, functional and social value. The respondents were classified into three groups(emotional consumer group, functional consumer group, active consumer group) by cluster analysis using four dimensions of consumption value. The results of the analyses of variance and chi-square tests showed significant differences in purchase frequency, place of purchase, purchase reason, reason for using cosmetics, degree of using information source and selection criteria among groups classified by consumption value. However, there were no differences in purchase amount and purchase propensity among them.
