공내재하시험을 이용한 지반정수 평가 (Evaluation of Soil Properties using Pressuremeter Test)

  • The PMT test results are compared with other in situ test such as Standard Penetration Test (SPT), Cone Penetration Test (CPT), Field Vane Test (FVT) and the laboratory test in order to investigate the correlationships for the strength parameters obtained from Busan and Incheon areas. Many proposed correlation formulas also make a comparative study and new correlation formulas for domestic soils are introduced. Limit pressure ( $P_1$) could be determined by P-log($\Delta$V/V) and Relative volume Method. PMT for the granular soils showed relatively high correlation with SPT, while CPT has good correlation with PMT for cohesive soil. The predicted undrained shear test ( $S_{u}$) by the PMT test results for Incheon and Busan samples showed low correlativity with proposed equations, therefore, new correlation formulas are proposed for domestic soils.s.

Experimental investigation of characteristics of torsional wind loads on rectangular tall buildings

  • In order to investigate the characteristics of torsional wind loads on rectangular tall buildings, five models with different rectangular cross-sections were tested in a boundary wind tunnel. Based on the test results, the RMS force coefficients, power spectrum densities as well as vertical correlation functions of torsional wind loads were analyzed. Formulas that took the side ratio as parameters were proposed to fit the test results above. Comparisons between the results calculated by the formulas and the wind tunnel measurements were made to verify the reliability of the proposed formulas. An simplified expression to evaluate the dynamic torsional wind loads on rectangular tall buildings in urban terrain is presented on basis of the above formulas and has been proved by a practical project. The simplified expressions as well as the proposed formulas can be applied to estimate wind-induce torsional response on rectangular tall buildings in the frequency domain.

일본인 환자의 사상체질에 따른 한방제제 활용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Use of Herbal Extracts according to the Sasang Constitution of Patients in Japan)

  • Objectives : This study was performed to find out the correlation between the use of herbal extracts and the Sasang constitution of patients in Japan. Methods : We recruited 315 subjects who had been visiting the Center for Kampo Medicine for the treatment, Keio University in Tokyo, Japan. They answered SSCQ-P(Sasang Constitution Questionaire for Patients) questionnaire, a sasang constitution specialist interviewed them and diagnosed the sasang constitution. And the 80 herbal extracts subject's having taken were classified into four type Sasang constitutional herbal formulas according to "Donguisusebowon", the ingredients in a formula that have different role(sovereign, minister, assistant and courie) and effect and indication of formula. Results : 1. Among the total 315 subjects, the number of Taeyangin, Soyangin, Taeeumin, and Soeumin was 3(1.0%), 85(27.0%), 90(28.6%), and 137(43.5%). 2. Among the 80 herbal extracts subject's having taken, the number of each Soyangin, Taeeumin, and Soeumin herbal formulas was 30, 7 and 43. 3. 1 Soyangin and 2 Soeumin herbal formulas were prescribed in 3 Taeyangin subjects group. 29 Soyangin, 4 Taeeumin, 52 Soeumin herbal formulas were prescribed in 85 Soyangin subjects group. 39 Soyangin, 6 Taeeumin, 45 Soeumin herbal formulas were prescribed in 90 Taeeumin subjects group. 51 Soyangin, 6 Taeeumin, 80 Soeumin herbal formulas were prescribed in 137 Soeumin subjects group. Conclusions : The Soeumin rate in Japan was significantly higher than that in Korea. There was no significant correlation between the use of herbal extracts and the Sasang constitution in Japan.

충청지역 지층별 전단파속도와 N값의 상관관계 분석 (Analysis on Relation of S-wave Velocity and N Value for Stratums in Chungcheong Buk-do)

  • 본 연구는 충청 지역에서 측정된 전단파 속도를 지층별로 점성토층, 사질토층, 자갈층, 풍화토층, 풍화암층으로 분류하여 표준관입시험 N값과 전단파 속도의 상관관계식을 제안하였으며, 참고적으로 풍화암층을 제외한 전체토층의 상관관계식을 도출하였다. 제안된 상관관계식은 국내외 기존 제안식을 고려하여 모두 멱함수로 산정하였으며 지반강도의 경우 N값이 50 이상일 경우에는 선형으로 환산하여 적용하였다. 금번 연구에서 제안한 관계식을 국내외 사례와 지층별로 비교 분석한 결과 점성토층, 사질토층, 자갈층, 풍화토층의 경우에는 유사한 특성을 보이고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 다만, 풍화암층에 대한 상관관계식의 경우 국내 관계식과 다소 낮은 결과치를 나타내는 차이가 있음을 확인하였다. 풍화암층의 경우 상관관계식 산정에 있어 N값이 50 이상일 경우는 선형으로 환산하여 적용함에 따라 지반 강도가 높은 지층인 풍화암층에서 차이가 발생한 것으로 파악된다.

hERG 칼륨 채널 매개성 HEK 293 세포를 이용한 한약 처방의 심장 독성 평가 연구 (Cardiac Safety Assessment of Medicinal Herbal Formulas Using hERG-HEK 293 cell)

  • Objectives: The correlation between medicinal herbal formulas and a risk of cardiotoxicity has been controversial. Thus, this study investigated cardiac safety assessment of 52 most commonly used medicinal herbal formulas. Methods: We evaluated the in vitro effects of medicinal herbal formulas on recombinant human embryonic kidney 293 (HEK 293) cell line expressing human ether-a-go-go-related gene (hERG) potassium channel. Results and Conclusion: Our results demonstrated that all of 52 medicinal herbal formulas did not show inhibition of hERG current in hERG-HEK 293 recombinant cells. In conclusion, these safety data suggest that 52 medicinal herbal formulas were not associated with an increased risk of cardiotoxicity in hERG-HEK 293 recombinant cells.

소아 환아에서 다양한 사구체 여과율 측정법의 비교 (Comparison of various methods of glomerular filtration rate measurements in children)

  • 목 적 : cystatin C가 creatinine보다 연령, 성별, 근육량, 약물 등에 영향을 적게 받는 등 사구체 여과율 추정에 더 우수하다는 연구가 많이 나오면서 cystatin C를 이용하여 사구체 여과율을 추정하는 방법이 많이 나오고 있다. 그러나 이런 사구체 여과율을 추정하는 여러 방법들 간에 어느 정도 차이가 있는지에 대해 실제적인 데이터가 많지 않아 대표적으로 이용되고 있는 creatinine 청소율과 이외 다른 식에 의한 사구체 여과율 값의 관계 및 cystatin C의 유용성에 대해 확인해 보고자 하였다. 방 법 : 2005년 1월부터 2008년 3월까지 중앙대학교 용산병원 소아청소년과를 내원한 20세 미만의 환아들로서 다양한 신질환을 가지고 있는 211명을 대상으로 하였다. 사구체 여과율을 구하기 위한 여러 가지 추정 식 중 혈중 creatinine을 사용한 Schwartz 식, Counahan-Barratt 식 그리고 cystatin C를 이용한 Filler & Lepage식, Bokencamp식, Grubb 식에 의한 값을 creatinine 청소율과 비교하였다. 결 과 : 각 식에 의한 사구체 여과율과의 상관계수를 구한 결과 Schwartz식으로 구한 사구체 여과율이 Counahan식으로 구한 사구체 여과율보다 상관성이 더 높고, 또한 cystatin C를 기초로 한 세가지 식(Filler, Bokencamp, Grubb)으로 구한 사구체 여과율보다 creatinine을 기초로 한 식으로 구한 사구체 여과율 값이 상관성이 더 높은 것을 알 수 있다. 또한 진단적 정확성을 분석한 결과 Schwartz 식으로 구한 사구체 여과율이 더 진단적 가치가 있었다. 결 론 : 사구체 여과율 감소를 진단하는데 있어서도 cystatin C를 이용한 경우가 혈청 creatinine을 이용한 식보다 더 좋다고 말할 수 없다. 또한 신기능 저하가 심하지 않을 것으로 예측되는 환아들의 사구체 여과율의 추정에서 cystatin C의 유용성을 확인할 수 없었다.

Error Probability Expressions for Frame Synchronization Using Differential Correlation

  • Probabilistic modeling and analysis of correlation metrics have been receiving considerable interest for a long period of time because they can be used to evaluate the performance of communication receivers, including satellite broadcasting receivers. Although differential correlators have a simple structure and practical importance over channels with severe frequency offsets, closedform expressions for the output distribution of differential correlators do not exist. In this paper, we present detection error probability expressions for frame synchronization using differential correlation, and demonstrate their accuracy over channel parameters of practical interest. The derived formulas are presented in terms of the Marcum Q-function, and do not involve numerical integration, unlike the formulas derived in some previous studies. We first determine the distributions and error probabilities for single-span differential correlation metric, and then extend the result to multispan differential correlation metric with certain approximations. The results can be used for the performance analysis of various detection strategies that utilize the differential correlation structure.

Across-wind dynamic loads on L-shaped tall buildings

  • The across-wind dynamic loads on L-shaped tall buildings with various geometric dimensions were investigated through a series of wind tunnel testing. The lift coefficients, power spectral densities and vertical correlation coefficients of the across-wind loads were analyzed and discussed in details. Taking the side ratio and terrain category as key variables, empirical formulas for estimating the across-wind dynamic loads on L-shaped tall buildings were proposed on the basis of the wind tunnel testing results. Comparisons between the predictions by the empirical formulas and the wind tunnel test results were made to verify the accuracy and applicability of the proposed formulas. Moreover, a simplified procedure to evaluate the across-wind dynamic loads on L-shaped tall buildings was derived from the proposed formulas. This study aims to provide a simple and reliable way for the estimation of across-wind dynamic loads on L-shaped tall buildings.

제곱합과 교차곱합의 특성을 이용한 표본분산과 상관계수의 계산 (Updating Sample Variance and Correlation Using Sum of Squares and Sum of Cross product)

  • In this paper we present the simple updating formulas for a sum of product and a sum of cross product when a new value is added on or a specific value is eliminated from the original data. The sample variance and correlation for the new data set are derived by new computing formulas. Any statistic which is a function of the sum of product and a sum of cross product also can be updated by proposed method even though the original data is not available.

THE CORRELATION DIMENSION OF GENERALIZED CANTOR-LIKE SETS

  • In the paper, a symbolic construction is considered to define generalized Cantor-like sets. Lower and upper bounds for the correlation dimension of the sets with a regular condition are obtained with respect to a probability Borel measure. Especially, for some special cases of the sets, the exact formulas of the correlation dimension are established and we show that the correlation dimension and the Hausdorff dimension of some of them are the same. Finally, we find a condition which guarantees the positive correlation dimension of the generalized Cantor-like sets.
