  • In this paper, a comparative study of time-frequency distributions by partial discharge(PD) kinds was made. The PD kinds were to be classified into the corona, the surface discharge and the void discharge in this paper. As a result, the distributions of the PD kinds were different, and using neural network, the PD pattern recognizing rate was about 85[%].

  • The immobilization technique is important to extend the application field of a photocatalyst. Titanium surface was changed into a $TiO_2$ thin film by the anodizing process. The anodized $TiO_2$ had photocatalytic activity, and showed sponge like shape. The photocatalytic degradation of gas phase acetaldehyde and VOCs by anodized titania has been studied in various initial concentrations, humidity and discharge potentials. The reactivity of anodized titania was increased with relative humidity, but excessive humidity led to a decrease of the reaction rate. The electric dark discharge that was combined with photocatalytic reaction enhanced the decomposition rate of the organic compounds. But excessively applied voltage caused corona discharge, which decreased the reaction rate. Optimum relative humidity was 40% and discharge potential was 5 kV under dark discharge region in photocatalytic reaction.

  • In stator windings of 6.6 kV rotating machine, corona discharge, surface discharge and internal discharge are caused mainly by internal voids and insulation degradation. Also, if partial discharge occurs in inner-part of stator windings, it will be happened electromagnetic pulses at wide frequency range. In case of discharge spark, electromagnetic pulse generated from discharge source, and we can detect it by using various RF resonators as an EM sensor. In order to detect these kind of electromagnetic sources, we have designed and fabricated planar patch sensor using CST MWS simulation, and also PD signals from artificial defected cable were measured by our proposed sensor. Furthermore, HFCT was used as a reference sensor and compared with our proposed new planar patch sensor.

  • Plasma techniques permit modification of the surface layers of the substrate while maintaining its bulk properties. The use of plasma treatment on textile fibers and fabrics is very limited, however, the limitations, plasma treatments have been used to modify surface properties of textiles. In this study, multifunctional finish was performed by corona discharge technique for surface functionalization. Electron spectroscopy for chemical analysis(ESCA) was used to determine the ratios of carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, and phosphor at a 20$\AA$ sampling depth. K/S value and limiting oxygen index(LOI) value were used to obtain information on the effect of the finished fabrics. The mechanism of the flame retardancy was analyzed by the thermogravimetry-and the residue number. In ESCA, relative N1s intensity increased in case of mixtrure. The flame retardancy of the polyester and polyester/cotton fabrics treated with JA-6034 and JA-6050 was found to be operative mainly in the condensed phase mechanism. The multifunctional finish was better effect for the post treated finish agent.

  • The electrical discharge of high voltage direct current(HVDC) overhead transmission line generate audible noise, radio noise, electric field, ion current and induced voltage on the ground. These items are major factors to design environmentally friendly configuration of DC transmission line. Therefore, HVDC transmission lines must be designed to keep all these corona effects within acceptable levels. Several techniques have been used to assess interference caused by ions on HVDC overhead transmission line. In this study, to assess the ion characteristic of DC line, the ion current density and induced voltage caused by ion flow were measured by plate electrodes manufactured from a metal flat board and charged bodies, respectively. The charged body has two types of cylinder and cylindrical plate. From the results of calibration experiments, the sensitivity of flat electrode and charged body can be obtained. At present, the developed system is used to investigate the ion generation characteristics of Kochang DC ${\pm}500kV$ test line.

  • In display such as LCD, LED, and AMOLED or semiconductor related industries are required to have static ionizer in order to produce reliable goods. The most general type of ionization is called, "corona discharge" that has a slight chances to generate unequal and unstable amount of each +/- ion to the target object. Then, the ionization performance will drastically decrease and end up with quality deterioration problem. continually "A study on the improvement of the performance of pulsed AC ion bar(1)", we have studied consecutive study to improve the current issue via appling "partition wall" at air nozzle surrounding. The results were that the charge decay time and the ion balance was maintained the satisfied range that was within 5 second and ${\pm}50$ V for a 180 days period of time. In additions, the contamination status on the electrode surface was investigated for a 180 days. The little particles was deposited on the electrode surface.

  • In this paper, the ultraviolet rays images and aging judgement caused by surface contamination on 22.9[kV] class insulators was defined. UV images represented by the corona discharge are divided 3 types such as sunflower, jellyfish, amoeba and in detail, there are classified the progress mechanism of eight. In the field which is installed the power facilities, immediately, this judgement method can be found out the deteriorated parts of the power facilities. These steps are possible to judge the deterioration of power facilities through reliable data. Hereafter, this study as the diagnostic technology suitable for the sites is used.

  • A novel oxidant generation and ion precipitation cell with slits on parallel plate electrodes was proposed instead of the conventional parallel plate type. An investigation was carried out on the effect of the number and size of slits on ion precipitation and oxidant generation characteristics, evidenced by eliminated space charge limiting action and by elevated electric fields in active interelectrode sparing. Consequently, very high ion precipitation and dense oxidant generation characteristics can be realized by having slits un the electrodes of conventional cells as these slits increase the electric fields and decrease the space charge limiting actions in interelectrode spacing.

  • The electrostatic precipitation of Auto- Bias has the advantages of a little of power consumption by the voltage to apply only at ionizer and the prevention of fire danger by current flow over. As this ionizer wire was used WXN- Pt material of diameter 90$\mu $m, that improved ion efficiency and safety, simplified a existing source of electric power by induced Auto- Bias voltage. Also, the new type collector used electric conductivity- film wag superior a electric safety and dust collection efficiency and was possible to wash it by water. As a experiment result of this Auto- Bias electrostatic collector, the induced Auto- Bias voltage by appling D.C 4.0∼6.0kV at ionizer was 1.3∼2.3kV and then the power consumption by applied voltage was 8- l8W. The pressure loss of collector by the amount of flowing was 6.1 OmmH$_{2}$O in 300m$^{3}$/hr and showed a safe state of the dust collection. The collection efficiency by particle size was 65.1-95.8% in 0.5∼5.0$\mu $m. After corona discharge of ionizer, the remains ozone concentration was found much lower than that of ACGIH or air pollution criteria in Korea.

  • A conventional electrolyzing cell has been made by an ion exchange membrane inbetween parallel plate electrodes. A low dc voltage is applied to the electrodes for electrolyzing and the efficiency is remained in low. in this study, a novel electrolyzing cell with a pair of slit-type third electrodes installed inbetween parallel plate electrodes has been proposed and investigated experimentally. And pulse power wa supplied to between each electrodes. This slit type of third electrodes can concentrate the strong electric fields at the every its edges to accelerate the electrolyzing powers, and to generate oxygen bubble discharges for generating oxidants. And moreover the slits eliminate the space charge limiting action and the temperature of the water by leaking out through the slits from electrolyzing region to outside of the main electrode region. As a result, it was found that a strong electorzed water of pH 2.8 and pH 10.5 and oxidants dissolved water of 1 [ppm] in acidic water were obtained with a tap water fed at the electric current of 2 [A], which however were several times higher oxidant and ion concentration quantity compared with the conventional cell.
