Relationship among necessity, importance of creative teaching methods, and strengthening core competencies

  • 본 연구는 대학에서 창의적 교수법의 필요도와 중요도에 대한 인식과 핵심역량과의 관련성을 알아보고자 실시하였다. 네이버 온라인 설문지를 이용하여 자발적으로 연구 참여에 동의한 총 142명을 최종 연구대상자로 선정하여 조사하였다. 창의적 교수법의 중요도, 핵심역량의 하위요인인 현장실무역량, 문제해결역량, 융복합역량, 의사소통역량, 직업윤리, 공동체의식과 창의적 교수법 필요도와 관련성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 대학교육은 현장에서 실제 할 수 있는 능력인 핵심역량 향상에 초점을 맞추어 액션러닝, PBL 등과 같은 창의적 교수법을 적극적으로 도입하여 적용해야 할 것이다.

Effects of the 4C Core Competencies on Work Ability among Dental Hygienists

  • Background: This descriptive study aimed to examine the relationship between the 4C core competencies and work ability among dental hygienists. Methods: From November 2018 to January 2019, data were collected-from 190 dental hygienists workong in dental clinics in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongsangnam province using structured questionnaires. For the general characteristics of the dental hygienists, frequency and percentage were calculated, and the level of the 4C core competencies and work ability of dental hygienists was calculated using means and standard deviations. A multiple regression analysis was conducted to analyze the effects of the 4C core competencies on work ability. Results: The mean scores for the 4C core competency levels of the dental hygienists were as follows: communication ability 3.34, critical thinking ability 3.41, creative problem-solving 3.40, and collaborative self-efficacy 3.27. Meanwhile the mean score for work ability level was 3.65. The predictive factors influencing work ability were communication ability and cooperative self-efficacy (p<0.001), and the sub-factors of critical thinking ability that affect work ability were sound conferences (p<0.01), intellectual fairness (p<0.05), intellectual enthusiasm (p<0.05), and self-confidence (p<0.001). Finally, the sub-factors of creative problem-solving ability that affect work ability were planning and execution (p<0.01) and performance evaluation (p<0.05). Conclusion: The current study showed that education programs covering the core competencies of dental hygienists, rather than the existing theoretical education program, should be developed and implemented to enhance 4C core competencies that affect work ability.

치과위생사의 임상치과 핵심역량 개발 (Development of clinical dental competencies in dental hygienists)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to identify the requirements for the clinical dental tasks in the dental hygienists using the frequency of dental hygienists' tasks in the Korean dental clinics, and to provide them with the core competencies for achieving these. Methods: This study was based on evaluation of a self-reported survey. The dental hygienists were investigated upon classification of their tasks into direct and assistant performances, and the dentists were investigated by the competency level of the dental hygienists. The data from 481 clinical dental hygienists and 67 dentists were used for final analysis in this study, excluding the subjects who provided incomplete or inappropriate responses to the survey. The collected data were analyzed by frequency analysis. Results: The clinical dental core competency tasks of the dental hygienists were divided into 4 tasks for common dentistry, 4 for periodontics, 5 for conservative dentistry, 5 for pediatric dentistry, 5 for dental prosthodontics, and 3 for dental orthodontics. Clinical dental core competency tasks of the dental hygienists were performed more frequently of tasks performance than 8.0, and dentists required competence level was similar to that of most dental hygienists clinical dental core competencies. Conclusions: It is necessary to check whether the curricula of the universities include the competencies for the students enough to perform the corresponding tasks and the core competencies need to be reflected in the curricula. The clinical dental core competencies need to be agreed by dental hygienists, and it is necessary to be organized as the evaluation guide of the institute of dental hygiene education and evaluation and utilized as the national examination.

간호대학생의 직업기초능력이 학과적응, 진로정체감과 진로탐색능력에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Core Competencies on Adaptation of the Major, Career Identity and Career Search Ability in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: This study was designed to explore the effects of core competencies on adaptation of the major, career identity and career search ability in nursing students. Methods: A correlational research design was used with the convenient sample of 360 nursing students. After explaining the purpose of this study to the participants, those who signed the consent form were provided with a self-descriptive questionnaire. Results: The highest average score of leadership of core competencies was 5.5 on 7 point-scale. The lowest average score of problem-solving ability was 4.4. There were significant correlations between adaptation of the major, career identity, and career search ability and core competencies, with the exceptions of nursing students. Adaptation of the major could be explained 25% by the instrument application ability, leadership, organizational structure, teamwork and career development. Career identity could be explained 13% by leadership, responsibility, teamwork, and career development. Career search ability could be explained 12% by responsibility, conflict management, teamwork, communication ability and career development. Conclusion: Based on the results, core competencies showed statistically significant effects on adaptation of the major, career identity and career search ability in nursing students. Thus, it is necessary to develop an educational curriculum to improve core competencies, career identify and career search ability.

응급실 간호사의 자아탄력성, 재난에 대한 경험 및 재난간호 핵심수행능력과의 관계 (A Study on Ego-resilience, Disaster Experience and Core Competencies among Emergency Room Nurses)

  • Purpose: The study was aimed to describe the relationships between ego-resilience, disaster experience, and core competencies among emergency room (ER) nurses. Methods: Data were collected from ER nurses in Incheon and Kyunggi province from May to June 2014. Data were analyzed with descriptive study, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficient using SPSS/WIN 18.0 version. Results: Male respondents showed significantly higher ego-resilience than female respondents (t=-2.04, p=.043), and education (F=4.96, p=.002) and position (F=7.70, p=.001) were statistically significant. The differences in disaster experience was found in gender (t=-2.29, p=.023), age (F=4.25, p=.006), marital status (t=-2.02, p=.045), education (F=6.34, p<.001), religion (F=3.69, p=.015), and position (F=3.55, p=.031). Regarding core competencies for disaster nursing, age (F=7.80, p<.001), marital status (t=-3.00, p=.001), education (F=16.53, p<.001), career (F=5.40, p<.001), position (F=12.52, p<.001) were significantly different. Positive associations were found between core competencies for disaster nursing and ego-resilience (r=.66, p<.001), disaster experience and core competencies for disaster nursing (r=.52, p<.001), and disaster experience and ego-resilience (r=.33, p<.001). Conclusion: Core competencies were higher among ER nurses when they have higher ego-resilience, and more disaster experience. This finding suggests the need for improving ego-resilience among ER nurses. In addition, disaster education needs to be considered as a part of core nursing curriculum in college and clinical settings.

성인대학생의 핵심역량모형 개발 (Development of Core Competency Model for Adult College Students)

  • 본 연구는 성인대학생의 핵심역량모형을 개발하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 국내외 문헌연구를 분석하여 성인대학생의 핵심역량을 도출하였으며, 핵심역량의 타당성을 위하여 델파이 조사를 하였다. 이를 위해 SPSS 18.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과는 의사소통, 문제해결 및 메타, 대인관계, 자기관리·개발, 디지털 정보 문해, 전공지식, 시민의식, 융합, 인성, 전문직업과 글로벌로 총 11개의 성인대학생 핵심역량이 도출되었다. 성인대학생의 핵심역량모형은 델파이 조사의 결과를 바탕으로 01~11의 번호를 부여하여 개발하였다. 성인대학생의 핵심역량은 서로 유기적으로 연계되어 있어 하나의 핵심역량의 함양은 다른 핵심역량에도 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

인테리어 리모델링 사업에서 영업사원의 핵심역량 모델 개발 - LG하우시스를 중심으로 - (Developing a Competence Model for Salespeople in Interior Remodeling Business - Focus on LG HAUSYS -)

  • Recently, competition in the interior remodeling business is fierce. However, the interior remodeling business is basically B2B, and in this business, sales are basically dictated by the capabilities of salespeople. Therefore, in this study, we intend to develop a model for the core competency of salespeople in the interior remodeling business. To this end, based on the research on the existing competency and competency modeling, the competency model of the salesperson was derived using Dubois' overlay method. A total of 12 core competencies could be defined through the first and second modeling. The subject of this study was focused on LG Hausys, the most representative interior remodeling company in Korea. Based on the core competencies developed in this way, overall sales competencies can be raised through the development of a training course to enhance the sales competencies of salespeople, and a more efficient and objective HR.

과학기술원 신입생 핵심역량 지표 개발 연구 (The Development of Core Competence Indicators of Freshmen in an Institute of Science & Technology)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop an indicator of core competency of freshmen of an Institute of Science & Technology (IST). Through the document analysis and the expert survey, core competency indicators that include 5 core competencies and 15 sub-competencies (a total of 48 items) were developed. Then content validity was examined by experts in measurement and statistics and secondary education. Also, by using students' responses, reliability was tested with Cronbach's alpha and construct validity were tested through confirmatory factor analysis. Results suggest that the core competency indicator is reliable and valid in measuring core competencies of freshmen students in an Institute of Science & Technology. Discussions were provided in terms of improving student admission processes.

과학교과 역량의 다면적 이해와 쟁점의 탐색: 일반 핵심역량과의 관계를 고려하여 (Exploring Multi-faceted Understandings and Issues Regarding Science Subject Matter Competency: Considering the Relationship with General Core Competency)

  • 본 연구는 역량기반 교육과정 담론의 동향으로부터 과학과 핵심역량의 다면적 이해를 위한 쟁점을 탐색하고, 일반적 핵심역량과 과학 교과역량 간의 관계를 고찰하고자 하였다. 먼저는 행동주의, 인문주의, 그 포괄적 종합을 중심으로 역량기반 교육과정의 이론적 배경을 살펴보았다. 이후 OECD의 역량 관련 프로젝트(DeSeCo; OECD Education 2030), 미국의 차세대 과학 표준(NGSS), 한국의 2015 개정 교육과정을 역량기반 교육과정의 관점에서 검토하였다. 이와 함께 국내외에서 핵심역량 및 교과역량에 관하여 작성된 주요 문헌 15건이 제시하는 105개의 일반역량 및 45개의 과학역량을 정리하고 체계적으로 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 역량의 정의 및 범주화를 위한 쟁점에 관하여, 일관된 체계 내에서 제시되는 역량들이 일종의 포괄성을 지닌다고 할 때, 역량의 적절한 개수의 문제, 역량의 적절한 층위 문제, 개별 역량들이 얼마나 고유하고 독립적이어야 하는가의 문제를 지적하였다. 둘째, 문헌별 역량 요소들의 경향성으로서 역량 항목들이 개인적-미시적 차원, 공동체적-중시적 차원, 사회적-거시적 차원에서 다양하게 제시됨을 확인하였으며, 일반역량과 교과역량 모두에서 중시적 차원이 강조되고 있음을 밝혔다. 셋째, 일반역량과 교과역량간 관계에 있어서 일반역량은 거시적 차원을 강조하고 교과역량은 미시적 차원을 강조하는 경향에서 간극이 발생함을 밝힘으로써, 양자가 서로 맞닿을 수 있는 부분은 중시적 차원이라는 점에 주목하였다. 이러한 논의는 2015 개정 교육과정을 비롯한 국가교육과정에서의 역량 이해 및 추후 개발을 위하여 적지 않은 통찰을 제공할 것으로 생각된다.

과학기술특성화대학 핵심역량 검사도구의 개발 및 타당화 (Development and Validation of a Measurement Scale for an Institute of Science & Technology Core Competencies)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop and validate a measurement scale of core competencies for one Institute of Science & Technology's students in South Korea. Based on the school's core value and mission, items were developed through document analysis, faculty survey, and experts' review. Initial sets of items were administered to students and results were analyzed to finalize the items for the scale, which consists of 4 core competencies (Creativity, Challenge, Collaboration, and Care) and 12 sub-competencies. Through reliability analysis and exploratory factor analysis, 56 items were selected. For a validity test, confirmatory factor analysis was conducted. Results suggest that the measurement scale is reliable and valid in measuring core competencies of students in an Institute of Science & Technology.
